Thanks for the video and thanks again for your helpful information on the other video in which we spoke. This video here definitely helped me understand the difference between the different groups.
First batteries a got were the Redodo I have 4 in my 24 volt setup and it’s nice to hear you also like them. I guess I did good research before I got mine😁😁
Yes sir, you did excellent research. Definitely good batteries and one of my favorites. Just wish the prices were as good as they are now when I bought the bulk of mine 🙂
Thank you for the tear down on this battery! I have 2 of these and wondered how they were constructed. I am glad to go with these batteries! I am thinking that I may get myself 2 more of these batteries down the road for my little solar system!
Im pretty sure many companies are rebranding their units with differant names just to meet a certain price point. I actively watch the prices weekly waiting for the best sale before I buy. They also seem to take turns having sales on amazon/ebay. Power queen is just a 20% marked up redodo.
Thanks! I have a Ampere time 12v 200ah lifepo4 which is now Li time. The seal failed and allowed water in and fried the BMS (came with travel trailer, no receipt=no warranty) Cells are fine so I just need help finding the right BMS board. Ugh...
If it uses a SaiHang board that will be hard to come by since to best of my understanding they are OEM only. JBD BMS are readily available online you would need to select one that matches your current BMS specs and configuration. Many are smart BMS now and can be programmed with your phone. Type in model of your failed BMS on search engine and probably can find something on it for cross referencing!
It will be interesting to see when 48v becomes the de facto standard instead of 12v. It could be 1 decade it could be 4 but with the copper savings I see it happening eventually. I just don’t like having to pay extra for my fuses right now though 😁
Good video. I'm fairly invested in PQ. Didn't know the about the apparent PQ/Redodo association. Glad this battery passed your ridged inspection. I got the last PQ 200ah plus with discounts for just north of $381. That's pound for pound about what the Redodo's are going for. Wondering if this has something to do with it. Also Redodo has the group 24 that is smaller in size but the same capacity as the group 31. Any reason not to choose group 24?
On my best assumption, but not proven yet… I would venture to say it’s same components just in smaller case. Similar to the LiTime G24 I worked with a few months ago. Sorry I cannot give a definitive answer!
I’m happy with the Redodos I have bought. I even have some from when they were branded as “Zooms” before the whole name change legal thing a few years ago. Edit I’ll ask about the coupon code and see if there’s something wrong on their side!
@@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD all your reviews are highly helpful and I tend to buy them with no regrets when you talk about items. Building up my electric stock slowly
I have the 40 amp charger by this company. It seems that a full 40 A goes into the battery during the full charge. I thought that the amperage was supposed to ramp down at the last 80 or 90%. It did drop to about 37 A at 90% but that is close enough to 40 for me. Any advice?
just bought another 4x 12 200ah plus with 20 amp BMS 2560wh from them yesterday. Now will have 20kw back up power. Been running another bank on my solar back up sungold power 10k invertor and 12x 450w sungold panels in series for 500v input VOC max. I am impressed with these redodo batteries. Just bought a balancer today so as not to have to do maintenance every few months. Great battery. Got 8% off in a email yesterday. 1600 for 4 200AH batteries is cheap! Thanks for the video and teardown. Great JOB!!
Appreciate you! Sounds like you have a nice setup! 👍 Redodo are good and solid workhorses! Got some of the 200Ah and 200Ah plus myself! I use balancers and they stay within 0.1V or better!
Odd you add a vowel to the brand name? RedodEo? Just bought a Siekon due to Will's review liking it more than the Li Time. What brand and model batteries?
Yes it’s a SaiHang Tech Board. They provide BMS for many brands. Same as lots of other brands use JBD BMS. Just a supplier under a larger umbrella. If you want to take the deep dive on who owns what, start with looking up Foxconn / Hon Hai technologies and follow the breadcrumbs from there 🙂
The sample shunt I’m using to measure the energy that comes out of the battery has a predetermined resistance and the battery monitor (display) basically is a tiny computer that measures and calculates the energy in or out of the batteries through the matched shunt. Hope this helps!
So if they and powerqueen and LiTime are the same company is there any price differences between the batteries? I know that at lets say harbor freight they have really good floor jacks for cars but they have the daytona series for heavier duty workloads and pittsburgh for lighter duty. Maybe these are similar?
From my experience with these brands, Redodo usually has lower price point. I believe that the capacity test between the G24 litime and this Redodo are the same. I’ll have to look back at the G24 video. SaiHang is a BMS provider for over half of the battery brands. Similar to BMW having contract for mufflers made at same plant making Hyundai mufflers. The cell packs appear to assembled by motive power. (the cell provider for most of your favorite brands. I plan to dig deeper on this) Much of the plastic cases for these brands come from India now. Noticed same case mfg. marks after I posted the video.
Great video. Right to the point, no fluff. Thanks for tearing the thing apart
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! 👍

You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful to you!
Thanks for tearing this battery apart for us.
You are most welcome sir!
That's interesting they are made by the same manufacturer. Overall a good quality build.
Redodo is quality no doubt.
Still funny finding visual confirmation of components from the top 3 “brands” in one unit! 🙂
Thanks 🎉 great reviews

Nice one! I like the proof of the brands being similar if not even the same ;-) Thanks for the video as always! Keep going!

Interesting find!

Same thing I do, I watch battery prices like the stock market 🙂
You are a keen observer! Couldn’t have made a better observation! Thanks!
I got an email from them yesterday about their sale and they have some great prices on most of their stuff right now
They are quite affordable now and do have sales often! My first Redodo (ZOOMS) was almost $400!!!!
Thanks for the video, I have several Redodos of various sizes as well. Good find on the BMS 😮 Can you test the Redodo minis?
You’re most welcome! I’ll see what I can do about the mini you requested! Thanks for the suggestion!

Good Evening ! I'm LATE FOR THIS. TAKE CARE..
Better late than never! Appreciate you brushbum!
@@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD You Bet ! Have a great Sunday. TAKE CARE..
I have wondered about that one. Seen it a lot
Great battery even with the discovery lol!
Currently the one on amazon with Bluetooth and low temperature protection is $209. Not a bad price
I'll be glad to move on to the 48V batteries. Much better tech. But I'll stay tuned.
I’ll be working with 51.2V 16S LiFePO4 batteries soon.
I don’t have any plans for 15S 48V LiFePO4.

We all know rebranding and offering sales on similar items causes consumers to buy more. ie: Honda-Acura, Toyota-Lexus, Nissan-Infinity, etc.
Exactly! I’ve tried to get the battery brands to admit they are all under one corporation but won’t admit to this at all lol.

Proper pronunciation per the manufacturer is “Red O Di O “
@@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD thanks for the information, never would have guessed they would add a hidden vowel...
Me either! 🙂
I wish they would just call them YBS battery (younger bolder stronger is the brand motto)
@@Step-n-Wolf I am guessin' you say the letters individually Red O.D.O
@DaGarbageDisposal vs adding a vowel that isn't in the name, yes
But the part numbers begin with SH and when I looked it up it is a Sihang technology. So maybe Sihang owns them all.
