    I'm looking forward to build one as I had already made one for a 25HP Kubota (made for up to 40HP) 10yrs ago when I was working for the shop for whom I was working then was just starting. Now they're much larger and have plasma-cut etc, and I can have everything plasma-cut for less than it would cost me in cutting-disk etc (with no left-over metal hanging around for god-knows-when I would use it... although I would and always need some steal ;)

    I wish I had the means and a 100 percent duty cycle welder to build my own. I did notice an acetone can on the bench. Seem to recall that being fairly flammable.

      That's anti spatter spray which is non flammable, but still a bad habit, I have since kicked.

      on another note: you don't need a 100 percent duty cycle welder. I made this entire loader and backhoe with a $400 120v welder with a 30% duty cycle. I now have a better and bigger welder, but you can do a lot with simple tools.

    How do you like that welder Norman I was tempted to by one from northern tool but hesitated

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 лет назад

      I've run 40 lbs of wire through it and it is great. I'm going to be upgrading to the Northern Tool 210 Welder this year. I'm happy with the welder and the price makes it hard to beat.

    Need to make another bucket without teeth, if you dig near pipes a toothless bucket is far less likely to catch the pipe, its also better for lifting loose material from hard surface's with less chance of marking, good looking bucket and far less effort than a spade!.

    Is the 1 inch ID too tight or does it fit? I don't like a lot of slop on my connections

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 лет назад

      1 inch is too tight. I had to grind my round bar to fit. they make DOM in only a few thousandths larger so it will have a slip fit and you fill the tiny space with grease.

    HI I am interested to know how to get power to the hydraulic to run the backhoe . if i have a loan tractor .?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 лет назад

      +Adam Dame You need to run a hydraulic pump off of the PTO of the tractor. I am almost finished with this tractor and will do a video explaining all of the power components.

    Hi Norman I am looking to build a front loader for my cub what hydraulic pump are you using?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 лет назад +1

      I'm using a 4 to 8 gpm gear pump from Northern Tool

    love your videos Norman. I just got the plans for the backhoe ordered this morning. How many hole saws have you gone thru making this. I've used them for cutting thinner metal but never this thick. does it do ok cutting thru 1/4" thick metal?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 лет назад

      +bluecarpenter22 Thank you for watching my videos! I only went through one hole saw of each size for this entire project. By the end I lost a few teeth but it made it. The one that get's used the most is the 1" one. I even went through 3/8" steel with a very underpowered drill press. It took 20 minutes to do some of the holes but I did it. I used cheap hole saws from Harbor Freight. Have fun on your build!

      what kind of cutting oil are you using? also Im wanting to get some of the DOM tubing ordered so its sitting here. what sizes do i need?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 лет назад

      The material list is in the plans. Use that. For the 1" ID DOM. I would suggest getting an ID tube with slightly larger dimension than 1" to make fitting easier. Like 1.020 or whatever they carry. I used a thick cutting oil I got off of Amazon.

    • @bluecarpenter22
      @bluecarpenter22 8 лет назад

      Do you mean the 3/4" ID DOM? cause no one has the 1" ID DOM in .010 or .020 over.
      now in the 3/4 ID i can get it in .010 over.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 лет назад

      Metalsdepot.com has ID of 1.010" DOM
