It blows my mind as to how many people in the comments didn't know turkeys could fly ...
    They roost, (sleep) in tree's!
I'm going out on a limb here to say,,, I guess that's a shocker to huh??
Yeah they roost up in trees at night to escape predators.
Guess how they get up the tree ? That's right,,, they fly up into the tree ..
As a outdoorsman/ hunter I have noticed that the hens/female, will fly with no second thought. Where as the gobbler/Tom/ male would rather run than to fly 90 % of the time when spooked...
I've seen turkeys fly mostly glide across a lake, and rivers and I've watched them fly from one ridge top to another by gliding for what looks to be a half a mile or so...
Some of y'all need to get out of the house and outside the city limits more often and enjoy the outdoors more often. On second thought, maybe you should just stay where you're at and watch RUclips videos and read the comments for information . We don't want anyone getting lost or injured out here in the real world...

I was on the phone with my dad the other day and he said that him and one of the neighbours back home went hunting ruffed grouse out in the bush. Near the end of the day, my dad says he shot one, but it flew up into a tree. They both proceeded to shoot it a total of 10 more times until they ran out of shells, and then resorted to throwing sticks at it until it tried to fly off again and only then did it crash to the ground.

Turkeys are abundant here. They are an important part of our food supply. The animals in this video fed a family multiple meals. The license to harvest these animals was issued by the government who pays biologists to monitor and study populations to ensure sustainability
Wild game meat is a smart choice. Wild game is the most renewable, the most sustainable, the most organic, the most lean, and the most environmentally friendly meat source on the planet
