I just started watch this show the last few weeks, but it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. He conducts great interviews, asks challenging questions and there is depth to the interview. Better than anything you can see on mainstream media. Love the fact that an old man like me can go this learnt to build a boat, it's so inspiring.

That's correct. At first, I wasn't too pleased with my gains compared to my previous performances, I was doing so poorly, I thought I needed to diversify into better assets, so I got in touch with an investment-advisor. Little unknown fact: the cross bones and skull other known as the Jolley Roger were the bones of John the Baptist when Crusaders killed Herod and took John the Baptist Back after Herod killed John. The Harod kept his bones as a trophy because John Baptized Jesus himself so his bones were worth something like a holy relic. Crusaders were the very 1st Pirates and the famous pirate flag was John The Baptist! The Crusaders killed Romans and English for centuries because they betrayed God’s law and the peace treaty between Christian/Jews and Tyrants that only cared about conquering and control.

He has passion. You just have to find something your passionate about, and rearrange your environment to fit that passion. Maybe your school classes aren’t doing it. But there are a lot of external programs at schools that you could do. Or you could come up with an idea and get your school to fund it. If it’s building boats, talk to your physics teacher. If it’s video games, talk to your computer science or software teacher. You make it happen. And then you own it. And that goes on your resume and makes you look good and people want you because because you can make things happen.

@@olliefoxx7165 YES!! Another great series, in suit there is another young guy restoring a old offshore oil rig lifeboat, named Orla, into a floating home. This college grad bought it with his life savings after failing to get into the naval construction industry and instead went into documentary creation. Since getting it he has been dumping everything into the solo rebuild, and has been working on his career when planning/filming/editing/narrating a series around its progress.
He is about 1 year in and mostly still stripping it down, removing the old life-boat stuff to get the most floor space possible while still keeping it a floating vessel. He pulled the old massive diesel engine/captains chair/controls/crew seating so i dont know his propulsion plans... but it could just be something he gets towed when needed and said he plans to have it almost permanently moored. In the latest update he is working on paint, fixing fiberglass body work, and reattaching trim, windows, and tow/mooring cleats. Def worth checking out, hope you like it!!

Rider tho when you doing something that you never done before, (I’m pretty sure this is his first ship) you might put ridiculous dateline since you never have an experience on it.
And the problem with it, we as human psychologically tend to look at how far they still have to go, instead of how far they have gotten.
The meaning behind the quote above he just want feel enjoy doing it, feel satisfactions each of details he done everyday. So the journey while building it more fun rather than stressful think about dateline.

My Dad made a 42' sailboat of steel in our yard I wass 5 when he started it. Took about 3 years to finish. This was in the 70's. I think he added alot of cement to make it ride correctly in the water. Dad lived on the boat after it was finished. My mother didn't appriciate his ambition for all this.

Great idea at first glace but lets be honest, you would need deep pockets just to pay for fuel alone. Most of these adventure would cost him thousands. He looks like he has a lot of money the throw around but how long could he really sustain a business that would take all his time with no income? I think you also need some kind of chartering license to take people out on a boat over a size. They are not free. + insurance that is likely required. The list can go on and on.

You have done some incredible work to build a boat like that. I live along Lake Michigan. Years ago a guy built a big boat out of mostly steel. He was a retired ship builder. About six years he finished it. He was about a hundred feet from the water where it was built. he dug a channel to float his ship out into the lake. Everything went as planned until he hit a sandbar about a block out into the lake and got stuck. I have no Idea of what it cost him to get it off the sandbar but it took days with big tug boats. We had another guy who took the top off an old station wagon and mounted it to his boat that was about twenty feet long. When he launched it the boat flipped over. Just a couple of boat stories from living along the lake for over 70 years. Good luck with your ship though !

The son of my old oil companies president went to college for mechanical engineering. He came back to town on break and had the bright idea to build a boat out of 3/8" tank iron. 18 feet long, 6 feet wide at the beam. He spent weeks using an entire crew to cut, form and weld it. It took a bulldozer and winch truck to get it to the lake where we had wells. I was surprised when they pushed it out and it floated. A bit of a deep draft, but it floated. He buys a 90hp outboard motor and a 20 gallon fuel tank on the company dime. He put the tank in then put the motor on and it immediately sank...taking on water from the rear. That was 1978 and as far as i know, its still sitting there by the lake right where we drug it to. Him were a real enjuneer!
