    I like Mariota. I don't see him as the type of guy who will fire everyone up by yelling or jumping around. But he's the type of guy that other players with bleed for.

      AJ Delaney The big difference is that Aaron Rodgers came from a pro-style offense at Cal. Mariota, like Kaepernick, is coming from a very simplified spread offensive scheme. Mariota has all the physical skills. The big arm and the legs. He's also an intelligent kid. Sounds like Kaepernick. His biggest hurdle to stardom is his ability to go through his progressions and stay inside the pocket. The days of a running QB are over. RG3 is on his way out. Kaepernick had to seek the help of Kurt Warner to basically change his whole style of game. Johnny Manziel couldn't even make it out on the field and now the Browns are talking about Mariota. I like Mariota and want him to succeed, but I just see another Kaepernick.

      joe walsh probably will. I don't think any other NFL team is seriously considering him in the first round. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he drops that far.

    • @RayZon97
      @RayZon97 9 лет назад

      ***** Bucs are taking Winston. And as for all those other teams, they would have to sit Mariota for at least a year or change their offensive style. Despite what ESPN says, not many teams are seriously considering Mariota in the first round. Only the Eagles would. Most overrated player coming into the draft in years.

    • @staticPR704
      @staticPR704 9 лет назад +1

      ***** I don't think he's gonna drop to 20, but I hope he does

    • @RayZon97
      @RayZon97 9 лет назад

      ***** depends on where they draft him. Any player drafted in the top 10 is expected to start immediately and make an impact. Mariota won't be able to do that. If the Eagles draft him at 20 however, he could easily be the face of that franchise. Most likely he won't drop to 20 though, because many NFL teams won't want the Eagles to have him so easily, so they will have to trade up.

      Jared Price You're in denial. Bucs are taking Winston and he will turn that franchise around immediately. You'll be glad they did once he takes them to the playoffs. The Bucs have pretty much done all they can to make it clear they are picking Winston without explicitly stating it.

    Pretty amusing to read all these hot takes from 3 years ago lol. Lots of peeps so wrong about Mariota ie he’ll have to sit at least a year, he’ll have to learn to play in a pro style offense & win in the pocket (thing he’s doing just fine there) and a special mention for Lightening with all his bad takes & the guy who thought Oregon played a real dumbed down version of the spread, still laughing over that one!

    I like Mariota slightly over Winston (mostly because of his athleticism and maturity/lack of idiocy, but they are 1A and 1B. I have Petty #3, Grayson #4, and Hundley #5. I also like Bryan Bennett, and I think it's crazy some coaches think he projects as a safety. He has 6th-7th round developmental surprise written all over him.

    He & Jameis...both very very good. BUT, Jameis has the fire & leadership, this tips the scale.

    • @LucidDream
      @LucidDream 7 лет назад +1

      misc He doesn't need fiery emotion. He is who he is and that's calm/collected. Which is a great leadership trait. I mean you say that as if Mariota has no leadership. Yet he's very well respected by players for being a leader. He's doing a hell of a job for my Titans. I wouldn't trade him for anybody. Even in the recent draft Corey Davis, a WR we picked in the first round, said that Mariota was his favorite QB because of how calm he is and how he leads. I'll take him over Jameis any day. He's the goat. Marigoata.
      Plus having that fire in your emotions will inevitably lead to some bad plays and more mistakes. Already Jameis has thrown more interceptions than Mariota. Jameis sitting at 33 interceptions in his career so far, while Mariota is only at 19.

    character beats talent any day of the week its been proven already, everybody in the NFL is talented they wouldn't be on a roster if they wasn't, there's certain qualities that separates a 1st round bust from a late round diamond in the rough its about discipline, determination, dedication and setting and example on and off the field its way more than just being a talented player. The person you are off the field is a complete different person you are compared to when your on the field its a mental switch you learn how to cut on so judging this kid off an interview is very ignorant
