Love Anton's sense of humor, it makes the masterclass even better than it already is.

Да, это очень познавательно. И пожалуй единственное видео с такими глубокими подробностями. Наверное было бы неплохо продолжать эту идею. Помогай Бог!😃🤗

Thank you. Really interesting and clearly explained advice for a novice lute player like myself. One question - you don't seem to be damping any of the bass strings. Is this because your lute is strung with gut strings which resonate less than modern strings? I find the damping of basses one of the hardest parts of playing baroque lute and it's very hard to do without adding tension into the right hand.

Thank you fir your comment. I do damp basses sometimes. It is important not to play the basses too strong or let us say we should not let them sound as loud as they want if it is not nesessary. we never fight the length of the basses by putting dull strings or using any gut basses. We play regular overspun strings. We strongly believe that there are very few original duets for two baroque lutes because it was impossible to tune them together. If you wish to have a private consultation on damping etc. Please contact us at info@luteduo.com and we shall try to help you.

@@LUTEDUO Thank you for the reply - very interesting. My current teacher uses gut basses, which means minimal damping, but clearly there are different schools of thought and probably no right or wrong answer.

@@dominicforrest938 for us there is one criteria. One should be able open a case and play advanced Weiss or Bach. At normal tempi , clean, like any other professional instrumentalist on their instrument. if the strings do not let one do this - something is wrong. It is about 30 years since we stated talking about all different strings but nylon pyramid and by now we personally have not heard any advanced Weiss played really fast energetic at cool tempi on anything but old concepts that we use:)

    Большое спасибо!
Сначала я думал, что будет долго и скучно, тем более, что я очень плохо знаю английский.
    Однако!
Оказалось очень интересно, и кое-что ценное я для себя узнал. :-)
    Спасибо Вам большое!
