This is it!! We drove to the cinema in Berlin around 1986/87 in an Mini with 7 people to watch it! I listen to The Cure since I was 13 and it still makes me cry…love it…always…

This is a standout performance AND possibly the best version of Strange Day ever. The smoke, the drum sound with the haunting opening synth and the flange - it’s just SO good. They were so on form at this gig. It’s an indescribable joy to see it. I only wish I could have been there.
The drumsound is AMAZING!! The gated reverb on the toms , almost a new fantastic snare sound on every song ….all instruments are having such a unique sound and of course Robert Smiths sings beautifully as always … he still does. !!! 🖤🙏🖤
These guys deserve an incredible documentary movie showing how eclectic the fans are, the vibe, love and dancing. Its so cool seeing cholos, goths, jocks, avg folks and someone you wouldn’t expect letting themselves go to their music.
Thank you for sharing this. I once had this concert on vhs. I copied the audio to tape cassette and while listening I learned to play bass guitar. After weeks of practicing I was able to play the whole cover on bass. Thank you Cure because you inspired me to learn bass guitar 🎸

They're one of the very few bands that have constantly good music, all songs, not just 1 or 2 good songs per album - all, every piece (as written) is perfect and is a glorious piece of the artist. Charlotte sometimes (along with so many other literary references) tells me Robert has a very vivid imagination... He has an ability to tell a story; take you there, even when it was so many years before. Thank you, the Cure, for sharing your music with us... His wife must be the loveliest of ladies. Got this on dvd i bought the original VHS many yrs ago and put onto disc, this performance of the band recorded in late 1986 in Orange France at the old Roman Theatre is the greatest live concert you will ever see of this band. A band at their peak and their looming kiss me album in 1987 this location was dark and brooding like their sound opening portals.
We also had this on VHS. Wish we would've thought about transferring it to a disc. It's lost now along with other cure music videos on VHS that won't play on RUclips in the states.

I still remember going to see this when it first came out in 1987. I was 18 years old and The CURE music was all I thought about and listened to for a long time.
I caught the NA leg of this tour in San Diego, from the third row. Will never forget that experience, and the video of this has always been a fabulous memento. A magical period-the band was at the height of their powers. Couldn’t possibly be more brilliant.

Give me your eyes
That I might see the blind man kissing my hands
The sun is humming
My head turns to dust as he plays on his knees
As he plays on his knees
And the sand
And the sea grows
I close my eyes
Move slowly through drowning waves
Going away on a strange day
And I laugh as I drift in the wind
Blind
Dancing on a beach of stone
Cherish the faces as they wait for the end
Sudden hush across the water
And we're here again
And the sand
And the sea grows
I close my eyes
Move slowly through drowning waves
Going away
On a strange day
My head falls back
And the walls crash down
And the sky
And the impossible
Explode
Held for one moment I remember a song
An impression of sound
Then everything is gone
Forever
A strange day

Hay que ser estúpido para pagar un entrada de The cure y pasarse el concierto grabando semejante basura y encima subirla a RUclips, hace falta ser idiota.
Awww God he is a gorgeous sweet baby
gracias por compartir este vídeo, es realmente un increíble recuerdo de una banda que me encanta
The Best of The Cure. When I see this. I look myself deep inside.. .:.
the iconic cure lineup ....
Perry bamonte excellent guitarist
I’m so thankful to still see this footage making the rounds. I was a little nine year old fuck when I discovered The Cure and I watched this VHS tape damn near everyday in the summer of 1990. Thanks for posting!
