My story isn't the same as yours but drugs have played a major role in both of our lives. They damn near destroyed all we love. You have inspired me to get clean. I am being investigated by the Feds right now. They are trying to get for conspiracy to engage in organized crime. I could be facing some time. So I just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to give up that lifestyle. I made my bed and I will be a man and I will lay in it. If it wasn't for you I might not be here today. My dad is a 3 time felon and a homeless drug addict. It's no easy task avoiding the the only thing you've ever known.. The good news is that it is NEVER too late to change.. I've been one of Waylon and Jesses biggest fans. (not telling my age) lol but it's been a long time. I've just recently discovered Struggle Jennings. Love his style. He's Shooter and Waylon And all rolled up in one.
And his beautiful daughter, I see so much of her Grandmother Jesse in her it's like an Angel sent from Heaven. Thank God Waylon had such a beautiful family to carry on his legacy. I also admire the way some of the songs you do together it's obvious how you are singing to Waylon. The Ace In The Hole video is awesome! Don't mean to ramble. But Waylon was my hero.

This song is a real emotion between them. He obviously missed out on some important moments. They both bought cry when he says hardest thing he ever been to through is watching what his family had to go through. I can relate to the feeling of rasing kids from the visiting room and whipping away tears. That's some extremely difficult times to navigate cause you only get minutes to let them know that you care. Nobody ever believes you will change until you change for real. He obviously has done so and he should be proud of himself. But nothing will ever replace all the things and moments he missed for him or her and it will always be a touchy subject.Hes did enough that the love stayed the same and now he's givin a chance to make up lost time. Alot of men who struggle with trouble often give up on their kids cause they just don't know how to make amends. Those guys need to see this video. Thank you two for making this gem. It's helped me more then you ever realize.

I will never forget the day I answered the phone and heard my dads voice after the prision recording. 14 yrs old and time stopped right there. I walked miles to see him on Sundays. Those steps felt like forever with such a heavy heart. His fsther passed away while he was gone and he was denied going to the funeral. You think youre grown at 14 but i realized I needed him more than ever. In Ga we dont have an "attempted murder" charge. Agg assault with a deadly weapon. They made an example of out of him and severed his time but a piece of me died. The innocence was gone.
I thought i was over it. Clearly, after listening to this, Im not. It was buried somewhere down deep but thru the pain I can recognize how much we have both changed and the absolute appreciation for God giving us both the strength to build such an amazing relationship. I needed the reminder so Thank you, to both of you. I needed this more than you'll ever know ❤

This song came out while my husband was finishing his parole time out, and it hit me so hard because he missed so much of our daughter growing up. Four years is a long time when they're a baby, our lives were very toxic but all glory to god we have been saved and healed and she has the parents that she deserves

At 15, I was pretty smart. I knew things and saw things that grown men hadn't seen. Look just please know one thing, these streets will send you to 2 places, one you won't come back from. I'm a single mom, and my daughter's are 18 and 19 and had to grow up fast. There dad was never around. I sometimes wonder if they blame me. Keep up the positivity, your age doesn't take away from your experience.

Unfortunately after 6 years of being home he passed. My older daughter LOVES to sing and is damn good at it. Watching y'alls videos and listening to all the lyrics touches her heart and mine.

I love this love this!! This is my story, they slammed that cell door when mine was 7 I came home when she was 13. I was just in those streets trying to hustle a life for us and I hustled us all the way apart..... I remember trying to parent from the visiting room. Shes now 22 with a child of her own shes nothing like her momma except she's everything like her momma.... my best friend, my number one fan, yes things have changed! Thank God for second, third, and whatever I needed to get it right. I might not have always been there but I was always there. And we are stronger and better for the hurt, the suffering.
