they had too much talent to not consistently make the tournament and realistically the sweet 16 or further. mcdonald’s all americans on that team that im sure could and will be winning a lot more at their new schools
@@jjaylanni Absolutely true. We have consistently recruited top talent and consistently underperformed. It is a coaching issue. It all came to a head last year with both the men’s and women’s teams. Neighbors needs to go. Just like Musselman.
Watched Dauda tonight. She plays with a great attitude and good skill set. She will be a great teammate. Plays with a happy attitude like Kamilla. Great three point shooter. Good kid it appears.
I agree with this whole video! A lot of teams are getting too many players from the portal just because they are top players but not thinking of fit and need or how long it takes for a team to gel with so many new players
The question I have about Dauda is how good can her 3 point shooting be? She's a great offensive complement to what SC has at the post if she can just stand out and hit the corner 3 at a good rate, given what she offers on the defensive end.
The best way for her to help with threes is for her to work on her low post offense. We have enough 3 pt shooters. Cardoso is the main reason we got soooo many open threes.
@@kdean42 Having a post player that can hit an open 3 opens up so many spacing options, and especially frees up our 4s post game and our guards to drive hard, like Fulwiley.
It does bother me how many five stars end up at the powerhouse teams. Competition is what drives wide fandom. When Connecticut, South Carolina, and a few others seem able to sign whoever they really want, competitive balance is very difficult to achieve.
Hire somone with pull like Dawn Staley. That is how south Carolina eventually did it. She was able to land the star local recruit in Aj'a wilson by using her pull to put together a pretty decent team to attract stars. And with one star others want to play with them like Alisha Gray and Kaela Davis then you win a national championship and your recruiting blows up from there.
Can't speak for Uconn, but I do know that Carolina misses more often than they hit on recruits. They definitely do not get whoever they want . For example, Kylie Kitts, Chloe Kitts little sister, who's actually 2 inches taller, and not as thin, as Chloe will be playing for Florida this season.
@@kdean42 I am not really saying the power programs can get every player they recruit either from high school or the transfer portal, only that they seem to get a disproportionate share. Hence players such as Clark at Iowa and Watkins at USC brought new competitiveness to the game.

This IS a big deal. She provides exactly what they need. Post experience, depth, and excellent rim protection. She was 3rd in the SEC in blocked shots behind Cardoso and Swatkins.
