Thank you, Thank you, Thank you !!! You cleared up how to keep organized in the software. I was changing the tune on laptop and the saving to sd card then putting back in the 3.5 screen. Now doing it from the laptop. Thanks for pointing out the Holley folder is in the documents...( so stupid ) GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!! 👍
Milwaukee top off with a 5.0AH battery or larger is great for charging the laptop or if you’re out at the track for the weekend and don’t have a way to charge your laptop, battery life seems to be the biggest issue I’ve ran into with my tuning laptop especially with multiple cars in a day while doing drivability tuning, thanks for the video Joe Simpson!
I like the videos alot, great info. I also love using the SD card at the track because I can pull data logs and make changes with the car and holley off while cooling and charging. Sometimes Ill even sit in the air conditioning of the tow vehicle to work in it 😂 At home I plug in direct.
Other concerns and considerations about a computer to run Holley software: Apple’s arm-based cpus cannot run Holley’s software even through a windows virtual machine. Additionally, it is very likely that the shiny new Qualcomm snapdragon arm-based cpus will not be able to either. These issues are not about the performance of the cpus, but more than likely the hardware level instruction sets as the install process itself fails. Chromebooks will not work with Holley software 4 gb of ram is not enough, 8gb is barely enough as windows 11 takes up a lot of ram just to idle, used or old stock windows 10 machines with 8gb are viable Anything that does not have a sata or nvme ssd in 2024+ should be avoided. Spinning disk hard drives and emmc are clear signs of a cheap and slow machine Holley’s data cables are usb a, if you don’t want to carry around a dongle all the time, a usb a port on the machine is a must OLED screens are awesome for indoor use, but they really struggle in direct sunlight or bright indirect light
Since the holley software installs a USB driver, I would stick with Windows laptop, rather than trying to make it work with a MacBook or Chromebook. Drivers are typically hardware specific.
Once I get my Sniper EFI up and running, hopefully properly, I am calling you Joe! I have ZERO desire to spend many many hours screwing around with my tune and ignition curve. My engine cost too much $$ for me to possibly trash it. I live in Maryland and will gladly drive it over to your shop and pay you for a custom 93 octane dyno tune. I want to spend my time Driving, not tuning.
We've sold a number of the Holley Sniper systems, this week was the second time (second vehicle) with a drivability issue that was a result of one or more of the injectors in the throttle body not functioning. I'm not sure if the Sniper 2 resolves this problem, but I'm not impressed with hardware comebacks.
How can I update the firmware if my 3.5" touch screen does not work? I bought the 5" dash, and it states that I have to update firmware because it is not compatible.
The holley file saving always threw me off especially because my friend left it wherever it threw it so I always go in looking for a file and it's in some random ass folder
NOTHING marked as a Chromebook will run the Holley software. Best bet is look for a laptop that has at least a RYZEN 3 or Intel I 3 processor. Those usually have 8 gb ram and are significant faster at booting up and getting the software running.
Joe I'm looking at a Speedmaster Fuel Injection system for my BBF 460. It comes with FI Tech system. Is FI Tech very good? I know that's a broad ? But at 4 grand thought I better ask Thanks
as an IT guy these are fantastic points

@34:15 hold the Windows Key and use the arrow keys to snap a window to the side of an individual screen, or the corner of a screen.
Avoid the chrome books because they can't run all applications. Something with full windows is the way to go.
I really appreciate your assistance! I’m hoping to get my car running soon.
Helps a newb get through the weeds. Good info. 🤙

Very good video as always!
As a "real" computer nerd I love two windows so I can put the data log on one screen and the tuner on the other.
2 monitors is life changing
Um... when are we gonna see the new garage... dam I've been waiting. And. Ps so much info from your videos. Love them keep them coming
Another awesome video! Thanks.
Good info. Thanks you
I'm a Tune the Trilogy subscriber, are you going to do a transmission shift settings video any time soon?
@@GTStuning- yes it’s in the works
Thanks, that's all that's missing in my life haha@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest
As always a great video

Keep in mind those cheapest laptops are Chromebooks, and they can't run all applications (unsure how/if they can even handle tuning softwares).

Have they got the bugs worked out of the 6l80 controller yet? Or is there a better controller that will work with the holly system
Hey Joe I have had an issue with the secondary fuel pump trigger not working on a sniper x flow. Any help would be appreciated!
Just a note, if windows is required, a Chromebook will not work. 👍🏼
4 gigs will run - but just barrely. You really should have 8 gigs for Windows alone.

I’m still getting a crank with a no start after matching your 8 step. I’m running out of momentum. So frustrating

Is Microsoft Office/Excel required to run the Holley software?
@@joerudi15 no

@@BKMDano17 i would not go that route
speedmaster is chinese knock off everything so stay away for anything thats important at least if not everything altogether
Speedmaster should change their name to speed bastard with the way they screw people over. Avoid.
Throw that shit away
Good video
So you mean i dont need these 4 sticks of RAM!? Dang it!!
