Malcolm talked a good game, but he was never a boots on the ground type of guy. It took a lot more courage to confront racism in the streets and on the freedom rides in the Deep South where one was exposed to the physical violence of angry mobs, vicious dogs, and rabid police than it did to pose in front TV cameras making grand statements in safe spaces like Harlem, Harvard, and Berkeley, all the while being guarded by hand picked members of the FOI. Malcolm X was a public intellectual and a revolutionary advocate, not a warrior or a revolutionary. Don’t mythologize him; that does a disservice to his legacy of speaking truth to power.

@Ton Lok the book of Jeremiah explains quite a bit.
The original AKJV of the Holy Bible stated that when Moses came down from the mountain after speaking with God, the hebrews were afraid of him because he was glowing pale . The new Bibles no longer have the original description of him.
      Neither do the online versions.
It states to not add to nor take away one word from the Holy Bible.
Yet that has happened over and over.
I wasn't raised with a Bible, church etc. I don't practice rituals today because I am not familiar with them.
There is a portion in the Bible that states if you live by the law but do not know the law no burden will be added to you.
The law is Jesus. The only thing my mother knew from the Holy Bible was the Golden Rule. That is what we were raised on.
My mother insisted. We also did the pay it forward but didn't call it that. When you are needed and can help pay it to that person and ask them to do the same.

@jinnaluo the best method to utilize when you find yourself on surrounded ground is a combination of fortification and unification. The best way fortify oneself while on enemy ground is the same solution that it has been for the last 10000 years. No Army has been able to successfully defeat any unified fortified force that has embedded itself in a mountainous region.
For example, Russia /USSR invaded Afghanistan. Afghanistan at one sat on the border of USSR before is dissolved.
USSR militarily financially outclassed the Afghan people however the USSR could not out class mother nature and the thousands of years it took to develop the Afghan mountains.
Alexander the Great one of the world's greatest conquerors was not too successful on any Conquest that he undertook against any civilization fortified with in the mountains
And today the United States with all update Space Age Technology and drones does not have sufficient military power to truly completely defeat Afghanistan without a great deal of loss to itself.
One of the best ways to survive a nuclear attack fortify yourself within a mountain just like the US military has done with in Cheyenne Mountain.
No conqueror Empire or aggressor in the last six thousand years has been able to successfully defeat a fortified unified and organized civilization that has embedded itself into a mountainous region.
And this potential solution for black Americans exist right here in America, the question is how often do black Americans ask themselves where in the country is the best place for us to live as a group of people where we can be fortified unified and organized so Black Wall Street does not happen or occur again or if they attempt for it to happen again it will be painful for everyone involved not just black people.
In my opinion black Americans don't stop to ask themselves why are we in the southeastern states to begin with? Are we here for our benefit and protection or are we here because when slavery came to an end they just left us here. The migration from the south was due to White imperialist violence. I would like to know why black America does not think it is a good idea to migrate to an area of the country were you can fortify your towns and communities especially in the aftermath of Black Wall Street where the state of Oklahoma to this day has not paid one penny in restitution To any of the black families that the state-sanctioned for generational wealth Destruction.

Tyrone the Legendary TyRaNt Agreed. It’s also why balancing if not outright eliminating social media usage is important. If George Carlin was correct when he said that “the quality of our thoughts and ideas can only be as good as the quality of our language,” then what does it say about the state of public discourse when everyone uses abbreviated language in social media? To me, it says that abbreviated language reflects abbreviated thought.

Both are good beginnings to modern political theory, from their you can find more books. Also learning what was happening in the world and to the authors at time these books were written is important to understanding the bigger picture.

@@erichawkins5738 The truth does not denigrate. Dr King hasn't been denigrated by uncovering his associations. Rather only his cause has been differentiated from Malcolm's. It is a question of what one values: Integration or separation. If the efficacy of one's cause cannot bear its own truth, does it remain valid? When Dr King realised his position was compromised, like Malcolm he embraced more legitimate concerns: at that point he was murdered. Nobody has made light of that tragedy. The greater tragedy is a body of African American society empowered to thwart the legitimate concerns of the wider African American populace..The Boule et al..
Such bodies have always been feathered and furthered by the semblance of white philanthropy. From encouragement of Black WW1 draftees, to opposition of anti-lynching laws, African Americans have been subverted by their leadership: opposing connections with broader diaspora liberation struggles& abetting genocidal programs such as Tuskegee,in exchange for their own self advancement. When Malcolm X shone light on this, the entire structure compromising African American liberation was exposed.

Malcom X was a spokesmen for God, who appointed and anoited him for this very purpose. To bring fire with his words to burn deceit, injustice, and lies. I Love this guy because he was a man after Gods heart. To come against injustice even at the cost of his, own life.

It breaks my heart to see the pattern of assassinations that took place and continues to take place when an intelligent, articulate
Leader begins to show the people how to solve the issues that have plagued this country since its founding.
    RIP brother Malcolm.

A great self-educated person and an exceptional public speaker. Mr. X’s statements and views from 1963 are relevant in 2020. I wonder what he would have to say about today’s police/public relations and the nationwide protests. It’s ironic that the NOI made Mr. X a star and violently ended his life. Why are the brilliant ones wiped out while mediocre ones blunder far into the future.
