I’m late but honestly I feel like it would of been better if Lee didn’t try to kill peter. It would make him more sympathetic and Peter should probably respond with something like “I was there for a friend” when Lee was talking about how he attended the Osborn rally. I felt like Lee made a complete 180 when it came to hurting Peter or may. I mean he surely respects both right? I mean he atleast respects may. Then again he did try to kill Peter so he probably didn’t care about may.
The power Li has changed him. I guessing octopus did the same to Otto. Anyway I'm at the scene with negative vs spider. It's the most depressing scene. Mr. Li offer you to join him and you only have 1 option and that's rejecting him. After knowing what Osborn has done with the Devil Breath, the infected mouses and how the white mask woman assaulting Peter, I really want to turn the world upside and destroy those people. On the other hand, what would happen if Peter doesn't have his power and he's just a regular homeless teen at feast?
I actually thought the opposite, that those men were supposed to beat Peter up bit not kill him, I thought if Li wanted to kill him he would have done it himself
One year late but I don’t think his intentions were to kill him, his dialogue with Peter in the cutscene was essentially him saying that he doesn’t want to hurt Pete but he won’t hesitate to do so if he gets in his way, and he later on reaffirms this point by sending a couple of his goons to jump him as a warning rather than try to kill him. At least that’s how I saw it
He did care for May in Spider-Man 2 he’s wishes he never went through with his plán he never wanted May to get hurt or anyone just Norman he was consumed by his negative side

Peter was lucky Li did not stay long enough to watch him defend himself against brainwashed thugs. Otherwise he would suspect/figure out that Peter is Spidey.
He knew Peter was spiderman when he walked out of the door, wasn't really all that hard to piece together especially when Peter came to Lee earlier about the mask. At this point in the game May, Lee, and Otto all know he's spider-man
