@aryanghosh6825 in the military half the time they just say get in that truck over there in get going. It's all a military licensing and dependent on what your job is. That class of vehicle typically falls under the army code 88M for truck drivers. I know most of our mechanics that drove those wreckers had dual classifications of 88M and whatever lightwheel mechanic fell under. Can't say if the 88M was required though. Army licensing is kind of a joke.
no doubt. Mine was an E1 model and I could still cruise at 70 with 2x up armored PLSs each with an 1165 on their back and on a trailer behind them ....cruise at 70 like it wasn't even back there.
I drove this beautiful machine for 8 years. That thing is impossible to get stuck in. Like, you deliberately have to get it stuck in something and even then, it's not stuck for long.
@@Slim_Slid if you have cool section leaders you can do a bit within reason, just for the hell of it they let me order the deep water kit for my 88 oh boy them turbos sound way more aggressive with 4ft stacks
No idea, but one CAN sometimes get their hands on a Tatra 813 (or the newer 815) ex-military truck from (former) Czechoslovakia that will also out-tow pretty much anything you can think of. ?v=RMCe4S0kaIE, oPhKXyIb2CA, 4Ue-CuPYQ24, 5W2sZlY4 and more. Some of them were built to tow up to 100 tonnes (~220,000 lbs). And that was back in the 1960s!
I drove one for 4yrs. He couldve pulled that thing all the way back to his house if he wanted. On an automatic transmission😂
what type of liscense do you need to drive it?

That's what happens when you lock it in 8x8. I'm convinced a 984 could pull the earth back into orbit given the chance.

He was taking that thing downtown like there was a sale on fuel
Espiecally if it has the C15 Caterpillar.
Between this and the M88, I smile like a little boy seeing these in action, cant wait to finish H8.
I was H8 qualified also on the M816, M936 and the M984
Used to have a video where they hooked an Abrams tank up to one of those sleds. It pulled it as far as they had room for. The tank won.

This one has the ACERT C15 Caterpillar.
Get that ACERT junk off it and run it like a 6NZ or MBN

@@topgunner58 Cool story...I guess the term "It's not illegal if you don't get caught" applies here...
I would love to do that with my HEMTT wrecker when I get it running, yes I own one the M984E1
Sweeeet....I have an MK wrecker!
May I ask where you obtained it
I got it from a guy in Michigan he got it surplus from Louisiana
How much sounds like a fun toy
Probably paid to much but the guy I got it from said never has seen it come up surplus, I paid 30 k
According too the distortion of that camera that truck was starting to time warp at the end.
Don't have enough weight to stop it
It does
My M88 would have pulled those together without ANY hesitation
Next up: Hemmt 10x10 and then an M1A1. 😂
Can a civilian get their hands on one of these?
Not sure if you still can. In the past definitely. Although they fetch a hefty sum. www.govliquidation.com
I worked on one of these yesterday. One of two that are privately owned
yes but they cost alot
Yes you can. Saw one for 30k
