you missed out the jewel in the crown, the world changing Chetham's Library, the oldest free public reference library in the English-speaking world.Chetham's was also the meeting place of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels when Marx visited Manchester in the summer of 1845. Facsimiles of the economics books they studied can be seen on a table in the window alcove where they would meet. The research they undertook during this series of visits to the library led ultimately to their written work, The Communist Manifesto.
I agree. Cheetham Library is indeed superior to the John Ryland's. Although Cheetham has an entrance fee and John Ryland's is free. All the websites kept saying John Rylands was like the great hall in Harry Potter but it wasn't.
Another great video Martijn! I love Manchester, I’ve been a couple of times and it’s a really nice city. Loved the Northern Quarter and Castlefield.
Thanks 🙏
Yes both are really nice places to
Visit
Magnificent, attractive city ❤
I used to live there for a few years and it's nice to see that is recognized as a tourist attraction. You didn't miss anything!
Thanks 🙏
