My colleagues and I believe we heard this week from Miller: For higher populated provinces like Ontario a two year 50% cap is being launched effecting Sept 2024 semester+. Less populated provinces, 35%. However certain students are cap-exempt, i.e. physicians, nurses, skilled trade workers. International students will need to attach a "provincial attestation" to their study permit. Meaning the student must legally verify (via Canadian standards) that ALL of their necessary documents are indeed authentic. Including showing they have $21,000 in savings (after their tuition for a year is paid plus roundtrip travel costs). Elements of monthly bank records will need to be shown (if asked for) proving the money is indeed THEIRS plus THEY are using it to pay for things they need from WITHIN Canada. No fraud. No work permit for spouses. Unless the student is exempt, i.e. a physician. Hence eliminating all the fake marriages. Student's work permit expires upon graduation. Unless they qualify for exemptions. Caps/restrictions/strict-authentications. PRIVATE colleges investigated (foreign interference). Cda schools are no longer to be used for people solely wanting PR or, even worse, plan on staying in Cda illegally if disqualified. No more foreign agents, aka smugglers, cashing in too.
So far it seems that this PGWP restriction on PPP's will only be for those who start their study on or after Sep 1, 2024. So I think you will be eligible for a PGWP since you started in Jan 2024. IRCC knows that students will protest and it will be unfair and a disaster to do this without giving proper notice. Hence, the Sep 1st cut-off date.
It seems that you should be, as the policy appears to be for new students enrolling on or after Sep 1, 2024. But let's keep an eye on IRCC's website for confirmation and details. Will try to share.

They announced that post-graduate level course graduates will be able to apply for a 3 year PGWP. That should apply to you as well. Even now, if you study 1 year diploma, then study another 1 year diploma, you're eligible for a 2-3 year PGWP.

Could you please clarify if i will be eligible for the PGWP?
Sir, i am going to take admission for September 2024 in disability studies in alberta norquest college . Will it affect me.
Hi Irfan, I do not think it will impact you, NorQuest is a public institute.
Hi there. I'm currently a student of Algonquin College, nost likely graduating in October 2024. Sommy questions are
1. Is Algonquin College a public or private college
2. Will i be able to apply for a PGWP after graduation?
1. Public but CDI has partnership agreement with Algonquin. 2. So far it seems that you will be able to apply, as you have enrolled before Sep 1, 2024. To be confirmed by IRCC.
@rashid_ali I see. So CDI has a partnership with Algonquin College. But CDI is a private college taking its curriculum from Algonquin, right? Doesn't that mean CDI is affected by the announcement but not Algonquin?
In that case, you'll be able to apply for a PGWP.
@rashid_ali I see. Thank you for explaining. You were a great help
@@kevinigweh8076 You're welcome. Stay connected through youtube/community etc :)
What about public college like Douglas college
Shouldn't have any issues there, with regards to PGWP. But Open Work Permit for spouses is another matter.
Thank you 👍👍👍
Sir.. But i m September 2024 intake.. Is that okay
Hi Rashid, I came here in jan intake for 1 year diploma if I will took the admission in any college aprroved from DLI, in September so can I get 3 year work permit ?
Hi Vikrant, You came here on a 1 year diploma, that you are enrolled in. And later you will switch to a different program ? If your education is post-graduate, not undergrad level e.g. diploma after high school, and as long as that DLI is not a PPP, you should be eligible for a 3 year PGWP.
Hello sir,
I will come to canada in April intake in British Columbia in LaSalle College Vancouver..it is an DLI approved private college..and i got my visa 2 months ago and can you tell me..Will i get my pgwp..?
I am current student for Graduate certificate (2 years)..does is considered as masters? will i get PGWP from my university my course is getting over in august 2025? its a public uni.
Heyy is norquest college edmonton in ppp?
I'm pretty sure it is NOT a PPP.
@@rashid_ali that means we are eligible for pgwp right?
Yes :)
I'm coming to canada in may 2024 to sault college Toronto campus for Cyber security program will I able to get PGWP? Thanks for your video
Yes I believe so. Since though your college falls under PPP. But from what I understood from today's announcement is that it will apply to those who enroll after Sep 01, 2024. To be confirmed when IRCC shares more details.
@@rashid_ali thank you very much
I am already in canada studying in public private college
Will i get my work permit??
So far it seems that this PGWP restriction on PPP's will only be for those who start their study on or after Sep 1, 2024. So I think you will be eligible if your DLI is currently eligible for a PGWP.
can u confirm it sir that currently studying in a ppp would affect or not
@@rashid_ali
Sure Brother, I will share an update either here or on the newsletter when it is 100% confirmed. For now let's wait and see.

Vinod, they can bring the spouse in the first year also. This is the current policy. But more updates are expected on this.
I am going into Canada in Trinity Western University (private university) BRitish Columbia in master course, am I eligible for PGWP? Does it affect ?
Yes you will be able able to do it.
Sir I'm a Dr and i have got postgraduate stroke fellowship at university of alberta, that is a paid 2 years training program by the university. My training is going to start from 1st January 2025, my questions are;
i. what are my chances of getting visa after these new policies, and
ii. are there any chances for me to get spouse visa as well?
Regards
Excellent. Masters, PhD students, and those in medicine and law are not impacted by these changes. Your spouse will also qualify.
@@shannonsaunders6336 Thank you sir
My sister is currently studying in St. Clair college Toronto. Her course will complete in Jan 2025. Will she be eligible for Pgwp?
Ace Acumen Academy has PPP with St. Clair College in Toronto. But if she has already enrolled, she should be eligible for a PGWP from what I understand after today's announcement. More details to come which will confirm this.
@@rashid_ali Thanks for replying. I hope we will get positive news regarding students who are already enrolled in such colleges and graduating after Sep 2024. Otherwise this will be unfair.
Hello sir ,
I am currently studying in public private college (Niagara college at Toronto school of management) .My course will end in April 2025 . Will I be eligible for pgwp?
Hey, it does come under PPP or curriculum licensing arrangement. I think you should be eligible as you have enrolled prior to Sep 01, 2024. But this is to be confirmed, pending further details from IRCC.
my husband file is already in process still this apply on my husband
What about who already got visa ?
What about them?
@@rashid_ali I mean do they eligible for pgwp
For example few people applied for a college like Lambton Toronto and they already got visa's a month back for fall 2024. Will this impact these people??
And these people don't know that ppp's will have this pgwp issue. What should they do? Any alternates
University Canada West located in British Columbia mba Pgwp will be affected by this law.
I doubt that.

You mean Trebas Institute Ontario ? Since you are already enrolled you should not be impacted by the PGWP issue.
Hello Sir, I am studying in Lambton College in Toronto. I would be graduating in December and as such will be applying for work permit after Sep'2024. Will i be eligible to apply for work permit?
Are you studying at Cestar college in toronto ? So far it seems that you will be safe since you've enrolled before Sep 01, 2024. But IRCC is full of surprises, so we should wait for more details and confirmation.
@rashid_ali Thank you so much for prompt reply. It is Lambton College, but they have a partnership with Cestar College here in Toronto.
You're welcome :)
