I loved this story. It has just the right amount of suspense and feel-good human connections. I was really rooting for Bea and Allie's relationship. The narration was very good and well paced. The descriptions of the Central and Northern coasts of California were spot on. My husband and I stopped outside of Cambria in a parking lot by the sea lion preserve to watch a meteor shower away from the lights of the nearby hotels and, sure enough, not 10 minutes into our viewing a Highway Patrolman shined a flashlight in to our truck cab warning us of overnight parking restrictions.😂

I live in a country where the parked van would be stripped to only the rusted wiper blades if it was left alone, it gives me hope that there are safe places in the world, maybe one day the entire world will be safe again
I'm sick & tired of the author's perpetuating negative stereotypes of social workers. My mother was a social worker for a girls group home & she was front & center whenever there was a problem, even if she had just put dinner on the table for my sister & I.
