As Reiza learn more about the Madness Engine (which is not the same build as the one in PC2, AMS2 uses the latest) AMS2 has improved beyond all recognition. It amazes me how those criticising it have forgotten all the problems with AC, ACC, rf2 etc etc etc. AMS2 is coming on faster than any of those. Following 1.3, it seems AMS2 is at the point where modding needs to be opened up soon.
This title is a dead horse (following this title from early beta). Btw. the usage numbers are prove of that. 1.3 does not change a thing. Yes, they now managed to alter the physics engine so at least trail braking kind of works and the ridiculous oversteer behaviour out of corners has improved. BUT: it feels incredibly fake and all the cars have fundamental same behaviour which does not relate to reality at all. An F3 open wheeler you can slide through corners on a race track like a rally car on gravel? Come on… really? That makes me wonder why there is still a (small) community that praises this title like it is the god of all sims.
On obvious one for me: Cadillac DPi and GTE/GTLMs at Daytona. The immersion with the FFB combined with the excellent world details and lighting is just phenomenal.
Honestly, 1.3 really changed the sim! Cars feel much more natural and much more they are more "confident". Some odd things from AMS2 are still there, but massively toned down - even though some cars are still way too off to what they should. Thanks for these combos, I'll be sure to try them. Also: Try the Ginettas, they are way better now.

With historic weather, custom drivers & skins, good historic versions of tracks, the new physics update and custom championships it's easily the best sim for historic F1 experiences. I'm recreating the 91 season right now and there's a good amount of era correct tracks available. I only replaced Barcelona with Jerez and set the correct dates for every race, I think I got to about 10 races!

My man, your list is made in heaven! Thank you so much for this. I ended up racing for 2h at Interlagos with the Omega. The F309 is divine at Outlon Park. I'm so grateful for your video!!!
Funny you have to preface your liking of something. I’ll tell you a dirty secret. When no one is watching I find myself enjoying gt3 in raceroom too. Excited to try out this sim. Bought it a while ago but only with this update did my wheel work with it.
Hi Mike, I also love the Ultima and how it drives in this game. The developers of AMS2 have been working hard and it shows. This sim has become my favorite, with all of the updates. I’m looking forward to the additional cars and tracks that are due this month. I just switched over to a LG 55 in. oled, so things are also looking sweet!
I'm a AMS1 fanboy and had the hardest time getting into AMS2 before v1.3. But I've already nearly doubled my time (in the release branch) since v1.3 dropped. Also great call on F309. Was my favorite car in AMS1 and is finally just as fun in AMS2.
I am with you i also struggle by changing to AMS2. We know what Reiza has done with AMS1 one of the best Sim's... But AMS1 was really good on version 1.5 and i think (hope) AMS2 is also perfect on version 1.5 still weird things are on AMS2 but with the update 1.3 it was a big step forward....
@@speedx357ify yes ams1 was underrated absolutely.... Most of the people saying no vr no ams... But ams1 was so good in FFB and overall when you see what Reiza has made with the old rfactor engine... Great selections Mike! Was running some fun combos yesterday with friends and GT1 on Hockenheim Historic + Formula Classic Gen3 on Jerez Moto are amazing.
Hockenheim Historic Is One of my favourite Tracks Ever. So sad to see it now, the first time i ever played it was F1 97. I love the Mercedes CLK from 1998 there :)
1.3 has really pushed the sim to another level, I'm really enjoying the improved force feedback. I took the Mercedes GT1 car around Imola for a race and it was a blast. Highly recommend
Dude, I was just realizing that I've got a bad case of Mike Withdrawal Syndrome. Haven't seen any of your videos since before the Thanksgiving break. Awesome stuff! You're spot on!
Thanks so much for this Mike. I've been wandering through the cars since the update not sure which ones would show off what Reiza has done. The F3 and the DPI were simply outstanding as you suggested. Could not wipe the smile off my face from how honestly good they were for any sim and compared to before the update. Three more to suggest that are markedly better. I have generally not liked the Formula cars in AMS2, but the Gen 2 V10 feels really good (provided you turn down the TC). And then M3 DTM and the Catherham Superlight are loads of fun just trying to battle with keeping it on the track, sliding and working through the gears. Amazing progress Reiza!
Excellent selection of combos, I'm with you regarding the Cadillac DPI & McLaren GT3, they're both great cars to drive on fast flowing tracks & the 720s I think stacks up pretty well against ACC all things considered. Nice work as usual, hopefully now the Movember lip caterpillar isn't causing drag & ruining your lap times :)
New to this sim and think it's great. One of the Lotus 7's and the Lotus 22 are great. You have to adjust driving on the 22 as it's got old bias ply's, but once you get the hang of it it's great. The 7 is awesome.
Just picked this game up during the sale. If you're like me, and you've got a lower end card, do not worry about how well this game will run, because it runs EXTREMELY well. It runs as well as you'd expect a game made 10 years ago to run, but looks absolutely fantastic while doing so. Stuff like AC and R3E definitely feel better FFB and physics wise to me, but AMS 2 is still a solid purchase.
Another great one is the Copa Fusca (VW Beetles) at Donington. A combo that requires both precision and a willingness to just wring the car's neck. Curving braking zones into fast corners in a car where the rear tries to overtake the front every time you even brush the brake pedal, all at speeds slow enough that you're not afraid to have a bit of contact with other cars.... The 1995 F1 car at Interlagos is also terrific.
Mike, you must be a mind reader because it was only last night I was thinking to yourself "I hope Mike does another track/car combo video soon" and the very next day Xmas came early. Thank you so much.
I bought this in the Steam sale last week a bit dubious if I needed yet another driving sim 😁 I have to say the FFB for a G29 is off the chart. I don't know what they did but for my money only Raceroom comes close to it for catering to a low budget wheel. LOVING this sim.
The 911 GTE (or the GTEs in general) are great for an AI race at Cascais. Then I've done Imola 88 with the formula classic G3 and F-V12 several times since the update.
As everyone is rightfully saying, it really feels like it’s possible to “drive to the diff” now. I haven’t gone back to all of the GT3 and GT4 cars yet. Of the ones I have tried, the improved diff is of course noticeable but it also really feels like traction control is a much more usable tool now. I don’t know if it’s just the way the power is applied with the new diff or if something changed with the TC itself. Regardless, I’m liking it. P.S. If you haven’t tried the GT4 Cayman in a while, give it whirl in the new build. It’s a car I was so/so on before but I’m really enjoying now.
For me, I gotta say my new favorite car/track combo has got to be either the Formula V10 G2 at the new laser scanned Monaco(in part due to nostalgia, I'll admit) or the 2021 Stock Car Brasil Chevy Cruze at Cascavel. Probably my favorite track in the Stock Car Brasil series, a series not enough people pay attention to!
I've been having so much fun trying new combos now that so many cars are so much more fun to drive. DTM @ Salvadore, Brazilian stock cars at Nords, the V12 F1 cars at Interlagos... are great fun... I'm def going to try the F3 at Oulton now

If anyone know how to disable it or why is it alarming and it should be that way, I'll appreciate it!
The C3 Racing Corvette has brake discs made from cheese and its a challenge to keep on any track. But I admire its barbaric nature and menacing stance. If Tom Jones was a car he would sound just like this beast and victory lane would be littered with the panties of pretty girls.

Well said sir. Remember when ACC came out of beta and was subject to the same 'simcade' slurs that's slung at AMS2? People have very short memories.
The problem I've always had with AMS2 and still do, it just doesn't feel anything close to a real car. It's basically a simcade demo program.
