Didn't watch bridgerton. Were my fav books and I try to not see movie versions of my books. Comics I'll take it. But yeah..my books not so much. But this guy is hot and very good so i will see the series just for him!
@@davidshelton7104 It's a good remake. It's more condensed than the original, but is more historically authentic. For example, it accurately represents what West African civilization was really like before the Europeans came, and it was a lot more advanced than the original Roots made it out to be.

Very good Acting Schools. Most start in Theatre.
They know where the money is. The one's who can't do American accents get filtered out fast -- same with Aussies and Kiwis.
Apparently an American accent is really easy to do. Because FAR too many British actors and actresses are AWESOME at it.

@@donbrown1284 : Obviously there are SOME British actors that are not great at it, and obviously those folks are unlikely to be cast in any meaningful project. So you are correct: naturally we would not ever see them. (That goes without saying.) But my point is, obviously there is NO SHORTAGE of British actors that can do an American Accent well. So it must not be "that" difficult. In fact the skill is so plentiful, it appears to be an acting skill among Brits that is par for the course/expected. No more different than expecting an actor to be able to memorize their lines. Nevertheless, feel free to post your long list of well-known British actors that are bad at doing an American accent. I'll wait.

If that's the case it's sad. And probably shouldn't be that way considering there's no shortage of American actors. Especially in regards to minority american actors who probably already struggle to get roles.

Why are people focusing on the accents and not the fact that this sketch is poking fun at the fact that Black American actors are [in the last decade] rarely cast as the leads in films about iconic African American figures or stories. There are people who get upset or are simply surprised when they realize that a lot of the actors playing central or iconic African American figures of often British, Irish etc. Like some people are upset that Ruth Negga is set to play Josephine Baker or that Cynthia Erivo played Harriet Tubman. David Oyelowo has played several central Black American figures like Martin King Jr. Daniel Kaluuya has played several African American figures, now including Fred Hampton. Some people just feel that in nonfiction stories or stories about a countries Iconic figures and actor from that country should play the role because of the history attached the the person. So Ego's characters reaction to their accents isn't because she's an uncultured American (like some people in the comments are saying😂) it's because she probably expected an American to play the role of these iconic Americans. That's my interpretation but I could be wrong... if you're outside the community you may have missed it 😩😂😂 In any case the sketch was funny and I live SNLs casts.

I didn't want to say anything and come off condescending but a lot of people in the comments seemed to miss the point even though there was a line in the sketch saying exactly what I said. 😂😂 it's all good though, I miss the point of some sketches at times.
