Thankyou, I discovered an o-ring in the drain pan after I filled up my YZF-R125 (same engine) and this video clearly shows where it is supposed to go (on the drain plug). I'll see if I can get away without it until the next oil change.
Doing my r125 now. Was your sump plug directly in line with your exhaust?! Trying to find out a way to get around it all without taking the exhaust off...
Do not screw the oil dipstick all the way down, according to the manual you just have to kinda drop it in place while the bike is standing straight. If it's screwed in all the way it will show more oil than you actually have
Nice video, subbed. I realise you have sold your bike but i need some advice plz about the oil change; i bought my mt-125 with a scorpion exhaust on it, im trying to do the oil change but the damn downpipe is actually covering the sump plug (bad exhaust design) so i cant get to it via a socket wrench. Looks to me i may have to drop the exhaust, do you know if there is an alternative way to get to it or if dropping the exhaust is generally bad for the bike (may have to warm engine up with no exhaust to do the oil change, or is warming up the engine not necessary?). thanks.
Hi, thanks for the sub! Sorry for the late response, the down pipe sat very closely to mine too but managed to access it. You REALLY shouldn't need to drop the exhaust, can you send me a photo?
EvolutionMotovlogs not sure how to send photos via youtube (if thats even possible) i had an experienced mechanic look at it and we ended up dropping the exhaust in the end, ill have to do that every oil change. Anyhow looking forward to more of your vids, keep posting
Hey Evolution planning to do my A2 licence soon as well when I turn 19 in June. Started 50cc when i was 16 and got honda vision 110 when I turned 17. I spend £5 on a full tank of petrol which lasts 2 weeks and I drive it in and out every day, definitely worthwhile. Just wondering, of course with scooters I have lack of experience shifting gears etc. Would you think that transitioning from a scooter to a motorbike will be such a problem for my A2 licence? did it take you long to properly get used to gear changing and clutch control And would you recommend the Yamaha R3 as a first bike? I've been told I may get bored of it and should get something bigger. Cheers
I went from an auto 50cc to a manual 125cc, I went out first ride on my 17th not knowing a thing about gears and if you love bikes enough and love to ride em, you should learn it easy in a matter of hours. the next day I was out on the twistys xD
Hey! Sorry for the late response - Gears are relatively easily to get to grips with in a short space of time. You'll shifts will become smoother, quicker and easier over time but once you understand the concept of a clutch, biting point and gear shifter - you can learn this all within a day. Perhaps book a single day with the training company to familiarize yourself with gears on a 125cc, then go for the A2! R3 looks like a great starting motorbike, it's down to personal preference.
Demanize CSGO Quite alot, my friend added a 73cc airsal cylinder kit and has a tecnigas enox exhaust, from about 50 km/h to over 95 km/h and he got tons of torque and he can pull some sweet wheelies :).
Oh jeez man, tuning scooters is a totally different story x), you got to find parts that fit first of all. The moped is 50cc to begin with, but if you change the cylinder and get a different exhaust it willl be 70cc, it won't a moped anymore. Don't get a 70cc kit to begin with, get a different exhaust. I'd recommend getting to know your vehicle, pull things apart and put them back together, it will be easier to tune it once you've done that.
Uw4ntSum3 my Aprilia sr50r moped did 65mph on the flat, with standard 50cc cylinder, a yasuani z race exhaust and I think it had a bigger carb too, you don't need a big bore kit to have a bit of fun, wait till you can get a 125 2smoker and then put the money in to tuning that, my Aprilia rs125 does 110mph
02:37 to skip the informative introduction lol - hope you enjoy the video.
Ride safe and STAY AWESOME!

Thanks mate, i just changed the oil and the filter and everything is going well. You deserve a thumbs up !
Glad to hear it! One less trip required to the garage, always nice to be able to carry out simple maintenance and checks yourself.

Fantastic thanks for the replies, I am looking forward to it, perhaps not the £700 price tag for getting the licence though...
May i know what engine oil you using?
do you know how much power a 70cc kit will add to a 50cc? do you have any idea, plus i really enjoy your videos
Demanize CSGO Quite alot, my friend added a 73cc airsal cylinder kit and has a tecnigas enox exhaust, from about 50 km/h to over 95 km/h and he got tons of torque and he can pull some sweet wheelies :).
do all 70cc kits fit all 50cc mopeds? i want to get the airsal kit you said about but im not sure if it will fit the kymco super 8 2t

well i have just ordered a leo vince tt exhaust for my bike and a 70cc kit, what speeds do u recon i could achieve?
Thanks brother
No problem
Where did you buy that oil plug? Mine just snapped of when i tried to take it off...
I purchased it directly from my local dealer who could order parts from Yamaha, I bought the whole assembly (Strainer, casket, sump plug etc).
Thanks:)
I'm looking to buy a 125 and have managed to gather £2700 when are you planning to sell it?
I've sold the MT-125 already unfortunately, but £2700 is more than enough to budget a top notch 125cc!
awww bummer, really wanted the mt you had, i've been watching you for a while and i thought it would be cool to own your bik.
Cover you exhaust in tin foil near drain plug to stop it going all over the exhaust
on a cbt L plates 125cc can you ride all a roads like a12 , a14 etc ?
yes, everything except Motorways
Yes, A roads, dual carriage ways etc. Only restriction is Motorways.
What a palaver!
It's quite straight forward on the MT-125 as it's easy to access the sump in comparison to sportbikes.
oil level check on side stand or completely upright ?
Upright!
Upright, avoid measuring it on a paddock stand too ( I've done this in the past); the bike is ever so slightly tilted.
What happened to the beard bro 😦
it's back man, just shaved it prior to the video - don't worry haha
