I wonder if you know how much affection your subscribers feel for you. You are both such admirable, talented humans, and constantly inspiring. Thank you, Maya, for the perfect musical selection, impeccably played and absolutely appropriate as you are emerging from a long difficult time.
Yes, 100%. Everything this comment says is a reflection of my opinion. There is definitely beauty in a lament for a long and difficult time that will soon come to a close. I have been watching for just over a couple of years I now have watched every episode and it seems that you both have a soft spot for each other and are willing to go way above and beyond for each other. That definitely comes across, to me, in the videos.
Oh please! This comment is just too much! Anyone who has watched these videos will be delighted by the work ethic of Aladino (something we should aspire to) but to wax lyrical about these two people and wonder how much affection we all have is, quite frankly absurd. My advice: go out and meet some real people for yourself. Even Maya and Aladino wouldn’t disagree with that.
100% Maya's music is one of the things which set your videos apart. Also while Alidino is a top notch technician, Maya is a great storyteller. This channel is so much more than a travelogue or a craftman's vlog. It's dreams and work and beauty and real life.
Maya, your violin mastery is superb. Just lovely. Thank you. And the progress was awesome as well. Not to mention the videography, editing, background music, and on it goes. You two are incredible. Thank you!
Whether you play your violin or not your art shines with the video production, editing, scoring and Aladino's boatwork .A complete package and with a bonus violin music video.Thank you Maya
Thank you for the music to greatly brighten the day a clot went to Carol's brain last year. We were just into our 55th year with the love of our lives... I quickly realized I had to ask for a miracle. "Lord heal her here or heal her with you. Amen" There where several hundred people from our facebook contacts scattered around the world who were in prayer. Our three children were told by the PA that CJ would not get any better. So we all asked and He had her with Him an hour later. I can hear Carol singing with us as you played and I will never forget the lifting of the cloud as you finished and I did Just Smile. You may consider yourself a blessing to me this day. Thank you so very much. I am also delighted work in this episoce went so smothely and allowed you to bless us all with a wonderful offering of a truly beautiful selection. Bravo! Hooo Raaaa!
Your violin play sounds beautiful, Maya! And your craftmanship is awesome, Aladino. I learned a lot by following your channel. This Magic Carpet will fly across the oceans. I am sure. Thank you for sharing.☺
Dear Maya, I, for one, have missed your music. It's been apparent that you have been struggling to find joy in the huge task you both have undertaken 🥰. And completely understandable. That technical boat work is more Aladino's thing for sure, and he's a machine. I really appreciate his finese applied to every task . But this is a combined effort, a partnership, and your work behind the scenes is amazing. Aladino's expression of thanks to you on camera always comes across as genuine and unsolicited. Thank you for sharing a little 'joy' with us, done with impeccable grace and class as usual. Excellent choice of song as an expression of your heart 🙏 . Blessings to you both...❤
Maya, I just want to hug you. ❤ And Aladino, your love for Maya is palpable. You are both amazingly talented in so many ways, and artistry pours forth in all your endeavors. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Picture perfect, with the Master Craftsman Alidino in his element with Maya's first class music we find so enjoyable following this huge project. The cabin looks absolutely beautifully glassed and faired. She is a beauty to behold.
So glad that you got to spend some precious time enjoying the craft of music! Both of you have worked so hard with this project and it’s just as important to spend time doing something that recharges your spirit.
I often repost your videos to members of boating "clubs" that i'm in Your refitting videos not only give instructions as to to HOW but you give a lot of inspiration to others faced with your issues. Great job, BOTH of you.
I have David Bowie on the TV on in the back ground and you on my laptop..... As soon as you started playing my eyes started to fill with tears..... Beautiful song, Beautifully Played..... Bless ya Both .... :-))) xxxx
I am a junior high school teacher and your boat refit reminds me of the school year cycle. At the beginning of the year/project, you can see all of the many of possibilities for the year/project ahead. As the year/project wears on, the enormity of the task can seem daunting with all of the many, many details that need your attention. Self care and remembering to keep your eyes on the finish line are so important. Hang in there! You are making good progress on a worthy task and in the end, it will have been worth all of the hard work!
Watching the two of you work together and subsequently putting the additional layer on was great, teamwork between you two has really gotten flawless and the results are spectacular! Maya, thank you so much for the dessert “music” at the end. Short and sweet, a teaser? Love all of your work
Well, you really outdid yourself this week, both with the work on the boat but particularly, your rendition of Nat King Cole's "Smile", which brought back some positive childhood memories during a very traumatic period of my life. Thank you for sharing and keeping the spirit alive!!
Times of difficulty, stress and suffering , when past, spawn their own creative inspiration, and add the richness of experience and feeling to what will flows from your creative mind.
Hello magic carpet crew. Firstly, Aladino. Your workmanship is amazing, you make it look so easy, & Maya, I actually got a bit exited in the beginning of this episode. There was music playing in the background & I'm sure it was you singing? & Yes everything you mentioned about music is so true. So yes, looking forward to seeing Maya doing what she loves & Aladino doing what he loves (I think). Keep up the awesomeness. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
The quality of both of your artistry is what keeps my husband and I keep watching . Making a story out of repetitive things in such an artful way always leaves us feeling happy and relaxed. One of the many things I have learned in life is how being a supporting role is often difficult on a person’s emotional state, but such a valuable job. Your hard work and editing talents bring out Aladino’s skill and craftsmanship . This is truly what love is. What a beautiful thing to behold.
I watch many sailboat building channels and there are men that build/repair and there are men that prepare to build, have the correct materials to build and then they build...the differences are easily recognizable.
What a wonderful and rewarding bit of work. Consistently the best soundtrack on RUclips. Varied, creative, complementary to the video. Maya, having you perform at the end, especially after talking about how music is a way to express joy, says it all. Such a treat!
Magic Carpet II is just a little closer to being on the ocean where she belongs. I Look forward to that day. Maya, that song was beautiful! You made Nat King Cole look down and smile for sure!
Very nice. Even those of us who don't mention it in the comments also miss the music. It would be neat to see an overlay of a long project in time lapse with Maya playing a tune in real time but I realize that would be a ton of editing work. The cabin top look wonderful!. Good job Aladino.
You two are amazing persistent and perfectionists and have done an exemplary job on that boat. I’m longing as you must also be to see her sails fill and her prow cut through the open seas
I have to say, Maya, that the music I hear on your channel is..... the most interesting and best music of any channel I watch! By FAR. You put on music often that I've never heard. I like it enough to wish you sold playlists, I'd buy some! Great job. And I'm much more of an Aladino guy, work on woodworking projects all day long... LOL
In this world where so much is fake I just love it that you two are so real. You inspire me to keep going with my little projects, because through you I can see the power of tenaciously getting something done each day. Thank you for sharing so much. xxx
Maya has a classy presence, looks like an actress that may play a part in a mid-century movie. Really enjoy her calm and forthright commentary/ narration.
I love your subtle ever hopeful rendition of "Smile"... Thank you Maya for the joy you bring to the episodes in so many ways. Keep sharing your gift.. The song Smile made me think of my Smiling Eyes song i dedicated to all caregivers before during and after the Covid..It is on RUclips since April 2020 written in the hospital after suffering a fall just as the Pandemic was getting bad. I never made a cent from it and that was not the purpose.. With your music you are a caregiver from your heart to others.. Aladino.. you are doing a great job...dont know how you do it other than being inspired by a beautiful and talented wife and a ship who i think is smiling and singing too under your care. EnJoy😊
Watching Aladino's presentation on how to properly fiberglass is an education in itself and will serve me as i fiberglass the seams of a harp. I really enjoy Maya's choice of music in the films since it shows a cut above the usual. I know you both are meticulous in your respective talents and of course i enjoy watching Maya's presentations when ever she chooses to play but any and all of your presentations are a treat and you are to be commended.
Glassed in “one day”…. after how many days of meticulous prep! Congrats on the big leap forward as well as on the amazing long march that this project represents.
The sped-up wide-shot in the 14th minute really exemplified great team work with Maya providing new epoxy mix just-in-time and Aladino continuing to wet the surfaces. Great work and congratulations on a major step forward!
1. Love the wide angle time lapse from the bow, because we can just see Maya down at the work table mixing up new batches of epoxy. 2. The irony of warmer weather making it better to apply epoxy, but also limiting the open time. Epoxy makers should totally work on a two-/three-part system with a second hardener that can be applied afterwards, like how CY glue can be sped up using the spray stuff. 3. Yay, more Maya music!
I'm happy for both of you on yet another successful day. Thank you Maya for that lovely rendition. All in all, very uplifting!. Sea time is getting closer and closer.
Maya, you are such a genuinely beautiful person. Thank you for hanging in there, and Aladino I appreciate your dedication to perfection and your knowledge to accomplish the fantastic results. I know there is still a lot to do, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
SMC hello from Calgary,Alberta. Yours is my favorite of all the boat rebuilds. First of all its team work and equal love of the project and the ultimate end game sailing her again. The planning, attention to detail and execution are exquisite. No doubt Magic Carpet Two was a great boat when built but you have made her so much better structurally, interior design, systems and weatherproofing. So many new materials and techniques available since her original build. We realize that so so much more time and effort has been invested in her than practical or possible to show. Still I am excited for splash day, sea trials and sailing off confident and comfortable to all those far off special destinations. Special recognition to Maya who without her talents, dedication and all of those editing hours we'd never be fortunate enough to enjoy this project. Looking forward to next Friday.
Maya Thank you for the violin solo, It reminded me of my Dad, he played several instruments, none of them well……In the last hours of his life he had me sing SMILE to him one of his favorite songs. Thank you, it brought back fond memories of him, I haven’t thought of that in a long time. Rob
Thank you, both of you, for your openness in communicating your feelings. I don’t think that you truly appreciate how much your fears, your trepidation, your expressions of being overwhelmed at times, resonate with many of us…Certainly with me. Perhaps that’s why so many here feel quite personally invested in your progress? I don’t know, I’m certainly no psychologist or philosopher, just an ex-engineer now smallholder farmer who has sailed, lived aboard, rebuilt boats and raced them, who has felt all of your fears and more when taking the steps that I know perfectly well how to do but constantly question my ability to achieve them. Seeing you crossing each bridge along your path with self-doubt but achieving such beautiful results each time is uplifting in a way that I wish I could share adequately with you, but I can’t. Except to simply say thank you and hope that you take heart from it, smile and feel a little pride and satisfaction in your achievements as you rightly should. All the best, R. 😎👍🍻
Not often moved to tears, but to see and hear you playing such a moving choice of music just got me. The boat refit is fascinating but I doubt many of realised how much we love you both. Somehow, mark this moment, so you can look back with great warmth. “Do you remember glassing the cabin and playing ‘Smile …….’ What a great episode.
Maya please keep doing what you have been doing. Before your monologue I was thinking how peaceful and uplifting your music always is. It lifts my spirits when I watch.... Thank you❣The video efforts show the Love you have for the project and for Aladino, and your joint efforts to bring this restoration along. 🥰
I genuinely can't say enough about how impressed I am with each of your talents. Aladino, you are a magician with a boat and Maya, your editing skills are only outpaced by your beautiful ability to make music. As always, I look forward to your videos. They have been an inspiration to me!
I had to come back again as today is a remarkable milestone in your refit. The glass, epoxy, and first application of fairing compound on the house is a remarkable milestone in your refit. I reposted my earlier comments to my family and friends on facebook and encouraged them to watch today's video of Sailing Magic Carpet...
Love the laying of glass to swing Jazz, seems perfect, just like you two. The music is always wonderful, please don’t feel you can’t earn from your wonderful gifts, I for one would love to buy a CD of your playing one day, the music is sooo meditative and mindful .
Hey Maya, that was perfect jazz to accompany Aladino’s glassing, and the piano following. Hang in there. Eventually the boat will float and sailing on a much more comfortable craft will provide its rewards. That song at kind of says - more eloquently. 😊
♥Beautiful music ♥Thank you for putting the heart and soul back in this long and very difficult build.♥ Love you guys. ♥God bless you and help you through these hard times.👍
I hate when I get emotional, when the power of something is so strong. I new the song, I just wasn't ready for your rendition of it, Another one well done!
I’ve played piano, brass and woodwinds but always envied the string players’ ability to spin out a legato phrase in perpetuity. You displayed that to perfection with your NKC rendition; so glad the musical epilogue is back at SMC! 😀🎶😀. Oh yes, and Aladino is my craftsmanship hero.
What you two do, how you do it, and who you are, is just wonderful and constantly informative, inspiring and charming. Your challenges, pitfalls and frustrations are handled with wisdom, intelligence, and grace. That doesn't mean they aren't hard. As an old Salt, thank you for all that you share with us, you are very special people. ps: oops, I didn't see the preceding posts, why am I not surprised that I'm not alone in my appreciation of the two of you?
Even before you mentioned the music I thought great choice of music. You really captured the mood of the work you guys were doing. Excellent video! I love the progress too. Aladino is the brains and supervisor of the operation, while Maya does the creative backup work to keep the restoration running smoothly, onto of creating the wonderful video. Great job you two! I am getting excited to see the finished product, not to mention seeing you both out sailing. Cheers!
Maya I suffer from cronic and persistant neuropathic pain and when I watch your video's, for a moment my pain subsides and for that I am thankful. Please make for us a dedicated music video. You will be greatly edified for bringing much joy to many elderly viewers like myself. Thank you in advance.
You are underselling yourself here, Maya. "Just a little bit of music"...selecting the location, choosing an outfit, selecting the song, practicing. recording it, recording on location, editing ....and I'm sure I am forgetting a few steps. Well done, hoping for moments of joy, so I can enjoy them seeing them at the end of your episode. Take care
Greetings from Arizona, USA. Excellent episode. Loved the music choice, you played it beautifully. I hope that playing it lifted your spirits as much as it did ours. With the fiberglass down, your dreams are one step closer to reality. Good job. You both are amazing and I look forward to next week's episode. Best wishes and positive vibes to you.
What a perfect piece to play for this episode! You are getting so close now and there are many more smiles just around the corner. Thank you both for such wonderful work!
Someday soon "Magic Carpet II" will take on journeys around the world. And you, knowing what you have done to her, will know you are as safe as one can be out on the water. I look forward to seeing the three of you playing in the wind and waves.
Maya, you are the heart and soul of this channel. Thank you so very much for all the time and effort you put into it. On another note, perhaps you can talk Total Boat into supplying you with an epoxy proportioner like The Duracell Project has and uses so much.😊
It is amazing how quickly Maya has used this experience and learned new skills. You have adapted so well while still editing such magnificent videos that are soothing. Along with Aladino’s expansive expertise, you two compliment one another so well! You are about to see the rewards of your hard effort and before long you will be sailing the sound to your dreams and beyond. Smile brings such sweet music.
I haven’t had a lot of free time to catch up with sailing youtube recently, but that just means I get to binge watch Sailing Magic Carpet episodes. It’s so great to see the violin back, and to see the boat take shape. I know I’m a bit late to this one, but keep up the videos and fair winds. Off to the next one! -J
You've looked quite stressed out Maya so seeing that you are finally playing music again is such a good omen. You had us worried! It's so tiring getting into things beyond our skill level that are also tedious. You've weathered this storm thanks to Aladino's resolve and know how. Y'all blend well ❤️ together. Good to see so much done. The fiberglass layout was so well thought out and thus went smoothly. Add some extra o's to that smoothly....lol Thanks for the very tasteful background music too.
Thanks for the music Maya you’re really an artist. You’re also an excellent video editor, I’ve been following you for several years now still enjoying your videos. I noticed as well that Aladino has taken over the intro. ❤Thank you very much you and Aladino
Your cabin top came out so beautifully! Maya - I haven’t said anything because I know you hear plenty but I want to say today that you’re so close to being on the other side of this refit and living joyfully again! Please be so kind and gentle with yourself for now…
Maya, it was so wonderful to hear you play again. Should you decide to produce a CD you can be guaranteed I'll buy it. Hmm. CD? Yep, I'm old. You guys are such a great team. I could never get my wife to help me with such a project. I'm sure Alidino knows what a lucky man he is. You are both so gifted with talent and knowledge beyond your years.
I wonder if you know how much affection your subscribers feel for you. You are both such admirable, talented humans, and constantly inspiring. Thank you, Maya, for the perfect musical selection, impeccably played and absolutely appropriate as you are emerging from a long difficult time.
I ❤ hope the sun is Shining on your spirit this week ❤
This lovely serenade is the best gift 🎁 thanks to both of you

True artistic craftsmanship, as a shipwright and musician. I follow this channel for the boat build, and a wee bit of music is the cherry on top.

Oh Maya, so beautiful. Thank you sharing your love for music with us. ❤️❤️😊😊
All your hard work now will lead to amazing times for you in the future. Those times are right around the corner.
I come for the boat skills, I stay for the music. Thank you for the gift of both.
great progress. Laying fiber glass is an art and it can go wrong so quickly, but you both did an amazing job.

we enjoy Maya's mastery of music, as much as Dino's mastery of the craft. Just lovely.
They have a pretty deep talent pool there.

Nice that you play again. It is gping well❤
Maya please take care. I miss your smiles and laughter. Together you will complete this project and sail away together on a new adventure
Aladino is a machine when it comes to working on the boat. His energy and skill level is always a joy to watch. You are so lucky to have him....
I love to watch your work as it reinforces my reasons why I sold my 36 foot Dickerson. Good luck. Thanks.
Outstanding progress, you two! And of course, it was such a treat listening and watching Maya sharing her passion for music. Incredible.
So very glad you are able to express yourself thtough your music. Thank you for sharing.
♥Beautiful music ♥Thank you for putting the heart and soul back in this long and very difficult build.♥ Love you guys. ♥God bless you and help you through these hard times.👍
Wonderful progress and an outstanding job of editing. Hard work reaps rewards.
Miya you bought out a few tears. For someone so young to now Nat King Cole is one thing. But to here a beautiful rendition was so nice. Thank you.
Maya nice to see you pick-up the Violin and play again all some!!!! Aladino great work on the Sailboat you Guy ROCK!!! Brent Gordon Of Canada.😊🤟⛵🎶🎵🎻
I like the Blåkläder clothing. A nice tribute to our Swedish brand 🇸🇪😎👊🏻
I hate when I get emotional, when the power of something is so strong. I new the song, I just wasn't ready for your rendition of it, Another one well done!
Omg, my favorite part of this video was the end. Smile, so beautifully done, Maya! I had goosebumps. And the dress! 😍. Thank you Maya! 🎻
Love your red dress and so happy to hear you playing again. ❤❤❤
I am 65 yo and retired . built a van out for full time travel in America. I hope you two enjoy the boat for many years together,
I love that song, Maya 🎵 plus you too, dear people, make me happy to watch thanks again Jim
Cheers!
Makes sense about your music. Can’t wait to see you happy again. Hugs
Aladino, I am glad you are so dedicated and actually finish your projects.
Maya I suffer from cronic and persistant neuropathic pain and when I watch your video's, for a moment my pain subsides and for that I am thankful. Please make for us a dedicated music video. You will be greatly edified for bringing much joy to many elderly viewers like myself. Thank you in advance.
Brought tears of joy - just wonderful to see and hear sunshine breaking though again :-)))
You have a wonderful way of expressing your magic.
You are a trooper Maya! Hang in there. The elation and joy you will feel when you guys finally get that project in the water will make it worth it.
I have really been missing your musical interludes. I'm glad that you managed to spark your creativity.
Take care
Missed your playing your violin. Artfully produced as well.
Well done the two of you! Massive job, thank you for the music, wonderful that you could get enough joy, Maya, to share with us.

Add some extra o's to that smoothly....lol
Thanks for the very tasteful background music too.
so absolutely love it when Maya plays the violin, just incredible!
I know I don't leave comments all the time, but I love what you guys are able to do.
Please be so kind and gentle with yourself for now…
great workmanship from Aladino, as always... Maya!.... you're back to music...yea!!!!!!!!!!!... thank you both!
