  • One of my favorite band is Skillet and their drummer Jen Ledger is my all time favorite drummer. I got the Jen Ledger signature drum sticks by Vic Firth and I am using them to cover this awesome song Monster. I thought it'd be fun to cover one of my favorite songs and learn some new techniques in the process. And it is just me messing around on the drums, so feel free to comment with suggested improvements. Thanks for watching.

I don't have any suggestions for improvements - your drumming is phenomenal. As far as the development of yourself as a musician is concerned the next step is of course to make your own music. For that I can recommend a couple of things:
    1. Study song structure by writing out the structure of all kinds of music you like. That way you can develop your feel for building and structuring songs using all kinds of componants (intro, verse, chorus, bridge, break, solos etc). Which of course is done by writing your own songs. Use other song structures as foundational templates/inspiration - you can borrow things from differnent ones This is a support and a study process for developing the skill for making your own songs from skratch. You should never limit the way in which you create music to a specific formula or way of going about it.
    2. Guitar pro is a great program for writing music (since you can write with both notes, tabs numbers and piano or guitar fret board) and also play the sound of what you write - and export the files as sound files.
    3. Using ones voice to jam creativly (monophonically) not only for song melody but for piano/guitar riffs or melodies or bass lines as well is a really great tool. It's also good for when you come up with a drum beat away from your kit and want to record it in order to remember it.
The personal aspects of making music and expressing oneself is of course very important. So practing listning to and following ones heart in life is essential.
Best of luck to you young miss and God Bless you.

This is awesome! Thank you! I appreciate all your advice and would consider doing all of these one step at a time. God bless you.
