    As you said, it’s critical to get under the spare. Before you even said that, I was wondering why you didn’t drop the spare first, spray under and reinstall. That’s what I do, and I would hope everyone does.

    I used rust check coat and protect with similar wands. Have a 360 tip on a 42” hose. Good for entire inner of boxed frame where access holes are limited towards the rear. The inner rocker panels are hard to access behind the now plastic outer rockers. I was able to get 90 degree wand in seem and fog this area that’s prone to rust. Good work

    If you pull up on the rubber gasket piece on top of the front fenders where hood seals it’ll expose the entire inner fender and make spraying much easier. Learned this after using pdr on a front fender ding.

      @@northerntoyota7584 …. I haven’t noticed any difference between the two… i have it sprayed every fall (Octoberish) and it continues to build up, thicker and thicker with every application. I used to own a 2006 Tacoma and it was completely wasted rotted out underneath. (I never had it sprayed) I had no idea there was a problem until my mechanic showed me. For me at the time Toyota had a recall for that mess and i had it fixed for free…. Still traded it in for my Tundra, i’m not going through that again.

      I just applied a half gallon of black fluid film to the underside of my Silverado 2500. I have to get the spray cans with the tube to hit the little holes the spray gun couldn't get into. Surprisingly, living in PA, my 4 year old truck (35k miles) did not have much rust at all. Only rust i really saw was where i layed it on the frame in mud once.

    I had my 2013 Accord done with Krown the first year (because they drill holes) and Fluid Film every year since. The only issues I’ve had is the car is very messy to work on and the trunk lid drains got plugged from so much undercoating and trunk lid was holding water. Other than that I’ve seen vehicles newer than mine needing rocker panels and other body work where mine just shows a little rust along the rear dog legs. Great stuff!

I bought 2 gallons of Fluid Film Black, the WoolWax pro series spray gun kit with all attachments, plastic to put on the floor, tape and plastic to cover thew sides, tyvek suit to protect me... I'm not looking forward to this. I also bought the best ceramic coat I could get my hands on for the outside. This thing better last me forever!

    Hello Brad, I'm buying a new 2023 Kia Rio and I live in the salt belt, (Michigan), and I'm wondering what I should do since the car is straight out of the factory. Should I do multiple coatings, black paint, clear coatings underneath the car since the car is brand new? Or should I just stick with fluid film. I want to reapply it every year or so to ensure it doesn't rust, just don't know what I should do for a new car.

    • @bradsbuilds
      @bradsbuilds  Год назад +1

      Hi! I'm my experience, being as thorough as you can with fluid film or other types of oil based undercoating is your best bet. Taking your time and being thorough will make a big difference over just generally spraying the underside. Relatively inexpensive FF sprayguns can be purchased online. If you don't have access to a compressor, you can get a case of aerosol cans and purchase wand extensions for the tips to reach into the cavities. Depending on how harsh your winters are, you could always reapply after 6 months instead of a year. Be sure to be as thorough with the body cavities (quarter panels, fenders, rockers, door bottoms, etc.) as you are with the underside.
      Thank you for watching!

    What's your take on the metal in the fender wells that hides behind factory sound proofing material? It is removable, but not easily. Do you spray in behind this or just let it be? Worried the fabric will become saturated and fail.

    • @bradsbuilds
      @bradsbuilds  Год назад

      I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to. The sound deadening material that I'm familiar with inside of fender wells is usually a fabric pillow that is just held in with friction. I've also seen plastic wrapped foam material that seals the fender to door gap internally. Either way, both can be moved out of the way if necessary when removing fender liners. The fluid film shouldn't bother them. I know I certainly haven't worked on every car out there so I may have never witnessed exactly what you're dealing with, but I hope my response helps regardless. Best of luck and thanks for watching!

      It wouldn't hurt to wear a mask when spraying. However, both products are non toxic and I haven't had any negative side effects from either. I keep the area well ventilated with open overhead doors and an exhaust fan. My goal down the road is to invest in a full face shield/respirator combo so I can do away with some of the individual headgear. Thank you for watching!

    I am looking to get nhou for my 18 silverado do you know if that takes the factory wax off the frame like fluid film does?

    • @bradsbuilds
      @bradsbuilds  Год назад

      That's a good question. Personally I haven't had compatibility issues between FF and factory GM wax frame coatings. I'm not sure how the mouse out would act with it. It's specifically formulated to be applied to vehicles so I'd imagine it would be okay. Wouldn't hurt to contact NHOU themselves about the concern. I'm sure they'd be able to provide a lot more information.

    I bought the Fluid Film spray kit with two plastic hoses that attach to the sprayer. The sprayer is great. Not so much the hose attachments. The hoses are made of thick stiff plastic and will not flex well enough to do inside frames, doors, hoods. When you bend the hose it collapses and blocks the flow. I found it really a useless, messy, waste of time. It is really disappointing that they make a wonderful product and screw you with a substandard applicator.

    No need to disassemble and take off wheels, that's just not cost effect. Just need to drill access holes, then plug them. I know people don't like the sounds of that, but there are holes all over the vehicle anyway. A few more to allow quick access to coat critical areas isn't going to harm anything.

      I use a mixture of dawn dish soap and an abrasive hand cleaner with pumice. Seems to do the trick for me. I've moved over to a full face fresh air mask and that's been much better than inhaling the overspray. Thank you for watching!

    I watched your video. Some suggestions... do as you may.... I don't like the "feelingless" Robotic voice used (your voice) voice over. Very monotone, emotionless and hard to listen. Gotta lighten up and less dry. By the way... Like the truck very much. Glad you are coating it with protection. You do not nescessarily need to "clean" the underbody. I'm not sure why you guys say that? The first thing you want to do it find a dusty road to drive down after application! Dust/dirt help the product stay on the vehicle...even when sprayed over dirt! Water is your worst enime when prepping for a Lanolin / NHOU oil.
