I own both trucks. I have had my XRT for about 3 years and am more accustomed to doing jumps and backflips. I am thusfar too paranoid to jump the machete, but that is likely to change. At hobby shops I have heard sonme negative commewnts on Redcat and most refuse to sell them. I find that odd, but I ordered mine online. Great video. new subscriber. o7
Machete has too much value to walk away from. It's a little smaller and can openly run more places. Redcat always gets treated like an afterthought, they try to get the best value into the hands of people economically. Please remember that. They want you to build, upgrade etc. Keep in mind it's at 40% the price...
Ive always been a fan of Redcat, They start out with great customer support and then follow up with comparable build quality vehicles at a lower price point for sure.
@Daddyfly_FPV I got it yesterday. The reciver was bad out of the box and stripped the idler gear after the second pack. I'm putting in a warranty claim tomorrow
I'm a big fan of Redcat, still run my Earthquake 8E, and have my Shredder. Only mod to my Shredder is a dual fan and center brace. But I'm going to pick up a Machete and will see what needs to be modified. I'm a mild basher and don't run my car's during July and August. I also like Redcats' 10th scale lineup. Only Traxxas I currently own is the Drag Slash, and on 3s, it rips, but you will have to add an esc fan. But yeah, I'm going to pick up the Redcat for sure. I've been into rc since the early 80's , I'm one of the older guys out here still enjoying the hobby. Still have my Team associated 12 and 10th scale carpet racers and Tamiya Hornet, all still running.
I’d probably go with the red cat. I love to watch the big ole traxxas trucks rip but try at 68 to have enough lap to hold the truck while you wrench on it
at 55 and already owning a nitro 4 tec, I just want a electric rc truck to play with the grandkids when they are running their latrax cars,I am seriously considering a 4s machete...I know how hard it is to find anyplace to run the 4 tec top speed without breaking it every time....a big truck that will go 40 ish should be plenty...
Hey my friend, you are %110 correct on kevin talbot it would last him 3 mins lol, he completely destroys R/C trucks and cars, in the R/C community most people would not run there trucks and cars like kevin talbot, you don't get a honest review because every time he runs Anything it breaks and people get a unfair review, I love kevin funny smart, I cringe when he goes and run a a brand new trucks through the rain and mud etc, sorry I had to get that off my chest, thanks your friendly neighborhood hotel DOORMAN William from NYC FORGETTABOUTIT ✨️

Traxxass $1000 notRTR vs Redcat $400 RTR what's to talk about
6s is nuts on the machete. I very much enjoy mine.
The machete 4s is $299 now can't beat it for that price
Yeah, Red cat is having a huge sale on every thing. Good stuff to grab for sure.
Grabbed mine for the sale. Can't wait to rip it.

@@Rpotts1999 Damn. That's bad luck. Were you jumping it?
@Daddyfly_FPV nope I was running in an open parking lot and a baseball field. Mainly high speed runs

Tbh, I think the Machete isn't comparable to the XRT.... could you do a comparison between the Machete and the Sledge?
I didn’t realize it at the time but I think your right. I think the machete is more comparable to the traxxas sledge.
Did you make a comparison? 😇
I used my Machete for about 15 total minutes before the transmission melted!
I should’ve just bought the XLR!
That sucks where did you buy it, Can you return it?
@@N4SH7Y i bought it in Showlow… its 200 miles away. Im going to call Redcat and see if they can fix it.

Says on there website it’s a 1/6 scale R/C rig. But who knows. Call it what you want I suppose.. 🤷♂️
I think the xrt is way bigger than the machete 4s and heavier as well i have the machete 4s its really nice and big and heavy!
it’s a lot more affordable
For sure with really good parts support.
Oh yeah it is big my favorite RC out there what's the scale redcat shredder
I believe its considered eight scale but who knows now a days with how they scale vehicles, lol.
1/6 schredder

What's the top speed on the Machete?
About 51 mph.
I watched a video where someone got 55 mph
4s 120 amp esc
Machete is 1/7 like the arrma Mojave
