I think whoever writes these scripts is a natural storyteller. Its not just the research but the structure of the information, when its revealed, its outstanding. Even the info in the description sets the scene and is so intriguing without revealing too much. Especially because personally I haven't heard of many of these cases so I have no idea which direction the 'story's will go.
@@wiebkescantick947I did the same when I found this channel last year. Soon enough, you’ll be all caught up and listening to these a second time through, as I am right now. Problem is, it’s ruined me for other true crime podcasts. None of them even begin to measure up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
the story telling (writing) is let down by the infuriating narration in my opinion. The terrible pronunciations (eg. Celtic is not pronounced Seltic…but Celtic as in Kilt) And the monotonous tone is mind numbing. The clipped way AND is pronounced and then if followed by a word starting with J it sounds like he puts ‘the’ in the space so something like …”and Jane said” becomes “and the Jane said” which is not just distracting it is ludicrous. I know these are free on here but for those listening elsewhere, they are not free. Therefore those people are paying for mistakes. As for place names, I can excuse the odd mistake in pronunciation of foreign places (though that can be checked before hand) but when a place names in his own country is hideously wrong, it is disgraceful. Also, the accent, though somewhat Australian, is not typical, well not of the thousands of fellow Aussies I know. If this was a report card I would say…could do much better D-
You caught me unaware on this one. It actually took me a bit to realize which one it was. One of the reasons you are so good at this is because you focus on the people who mattered, not the monster that did the horrific act. Thank you for that. 😊
As always, well told with respect to victims and their families. Casefile is the first podcast I listened to and set the bar very high. I have found some others that are somewhat enjoyable but none come close to Casefile.
God help me I'm falling in love with the host's voice. And his aussie accent. i can't help. i just can't help it. Also the research done on this case, along with their previous episodes, is just fantastic.
Hello. I know your comment is 2yrs old but I just wanted to say....You made me laugh, such a cute comment, True also. I agree with you💯 Take care my friend.
Very sad lucky this Psycho was caught n was very messy but thinking he covered everything thankfully got him caught!!! No empathy massive tell sign!! Rest in peace Johnny🌷
When art imitates life in the worst possible way. He should've gotten "LIFE".....Every murderer deserves Life....25 years is a joke. May he rot before his time.
It makes me worried though because if you're innocent, you're still going to have an answer to everything even if that answer is just "I don't know I was at home" or whatever... but sometimes having an answer to everything makes you look even more sus, in the same way just not answering anything at all does! And getting a lawyer can help protect you if you're innocent, but also makes you looks sus. It's scary thinking of all the innocent people put away over botched interviews and investigations, though this case was very thorough and investigators did everything necessary to catch and convict the killer. Always good to hear ones with such outstanding work from law enforcement!
@@VladRadu-tq1pg lol in what way? I feel I pretty clear and articulate. It’s a fact that an innocent person will still have an answer, even if the answer is “I don’t know what happened because I wasn’t there” and yes sometimes even basic things (like asking for a lawyer when you’re innocent) can make you look guilty. It’s also a fact that the investigators did a fine job on this particular case. Edit: So what about all of that makes me sound like a “perpetrator”? I’m actually interested to know 😅
Nope. Pretty standard "omg killers and killing is so cool and unique, I want to be cool and unique too xD" and took it a step further. Probably didn't mind the idea of prison because he thought it would make himself feel cool.
Agreed, no creativity at all. Every decision he made was 'Dexter did such and such so it will work for me too.' It's true that crim's are not often all that smart.
Such a bizarre story. You don’t think of heterosexual men being lured by another ( presumably)heterosexual man. Scary stuff. I’m suspicious of everybody after hearing a few of these cases! Poor guys. Sickos are everywhere.
Bruh the reason you go to police is not just to report yourself as a victim its to ensure the perpetrator can not do it again. The first guy is like 30% culpable for Johnny's death omfg

I totally agree with you. Ever since I discovered this podcast I have literally been binge listening and neglecting my other subscriptions.

I hope I pronounce fuckwit properly for you.

Ah, I thought, Mark Twitchell again. Never mind, listened through to the end. The way you present stories keeps us fascinated. Thank you.

I’m from Edmonton and this horror story still freaks me out. 😳
I've caught up on all the episodes!! Thoroughly addictive 👌

I always listened to another podcast for a long time. Then I listened to Case file just st excellent
Great, perfect Saturday again 😊
Weird as heck story. Loved Dexter myself but this is crazy. Poor Johnny thought he was getting some - only to get more than some.
Poor guy..... But why you'd think that "Jen's" instructions to meet in a flipping garage sound like a good first date...😮
Thank you.
i go to sleep listening to case files ! it gives my really fucked up dreams.....
Same, The narrator's voice soothes me off to sleep and I have to listen again when I wake up.
I'm the same mate lol
I'm the same mate lol
This case was the first episode of NBC Dateline I ever saw. Really bizarre story!
First sign something was wrong..."he messaged her and she responded immediately"
I mean , thats how it happened to me prety much everytime
That escalated quickly. From a Commodore 64 to online dating on Plenty of Fish in 2 sentences.
🤣😂
😂🤣😂🤣😂

Wow this guy thought he was a genius ahaha how suspicious can you be having an answer to everything like that
yeah what a fucking idiot, so narcissistic he couldn't notice all the holes in his story, It's always their own arrogance that gets them caught

The advertisements are ok.
👏👏👏
Damn dude, I like forgot the story by the time that ads were finished 😅 Have you ever considered putting them at the start or the finish and not mid story?

Since when can't you exit out of ads. Smfh. No more updates on this phone. That's how they get you
