Andrew, very very well done on your journey, I love how simplistic (compliment) your videos are and it’s the simplicity that makes them such a great watch. I was emotional for you I can tell you. I really share the ‘just do it’ attitude you have…bravo sir 👍 Just back from a decent day in the saddle myself. Always planning the next. Keep it going 💪👊
What an absolutely fantastic journey Andrew! Most of us can only dream of doing what you’ve done! You should be proud of what you did! Thanks so much for sharing 👍🏻🙏👏🏻
As a 52 year old who took up cycling during covid lockdowns I'm in awe of your achievement Andrew. It's an inspiration and gives me hope that some day I'll be able to do a *single* 100km ride :)
Well done James, I hope cycling brings you the joy it has to me and so many. You'll soon be racking up 100km rides before you know it. (The key to success is little and often)👍🏻
Chapeau! Don't apologise for the emotions, that just reinforcers it was an amazing achievement. Thanks for the fantastic videos, really enjoyed riding along with you.
Great video! The youtube algorithm probably recommended this video because I'm from Hook of Holland, but I liked watching this and will check your other videos of this trip too!
Loved these vids Andrew! Really, really great to watch, amazing you did it all on your own and gives great inspiration to attempt something much smaller for my first overnight cycling trip. 👍
Enjoyed this Rhine ride. I am planning similar for next spring, although my intention is to take a more leisurely tourist ride. Your videos have been really helpful.
Thanks Kevin for your nice comment. I'm pleased I may have offered some inspiration/info on the route. I wish you well on your trip, and please write back on how it goes! Best regards, Andrew
Congratulations on the ride Andrew and thank you for sharing. Just reinforces my desire to get over to the Netherlands at some point to do an Audax ride. Sure I'll see you on a club ride soon. 👍
I loved watching your videos. I am doing this trip from Hook to Andermatt in May. I do wonder if you would mind sharing your route - the EV15 site and the Thine Cycle Route book by Cicerone has differences in the section coming out of Hook and Rotterdam - one shows going north or the river, the other show the south. Thank you so much for your story and sharing it with all of us! You inspire!
Thanks for watching and your comment. Here is my Strava link to the stage strava.app.link/IQRwlZ8v5Gb Obviously I was heading th HofH. Actually I strayed from the EV15 route, so it's not the Official route, but it worked. I hope this helps.
Stena Line, Hook of Holland to Harwich. Currently 2 sailings per day. One around 14:00, about 4 hours the other at 22:00 over night about 8 hours. Cost about £50 for adult with bike plus the cost of a cabin (mandatory for night crossing). Hope this helps
Kudos on completing an epic ride and what a great series to find and watch here on RUclips. Can I ask what time of year was your trip and did you find that hard copy Cicerone guide invaluable? Thanks again for the vids!
Thanks for the comment and watching. I traveled in the first week of May. The Guide book was useful in the planning stage. The maps were good. But once I got going, I only used the book to verify route direction when I got lost! Al the best.
Thanks for your comment. In fact I just flew back to Italy with my bike. 1. You always need to book the bike on flight as Sports Equipment. It is dropped off at OverSized baggage at the airport. Ryanair charge £60 1 way. Similar on other carriers. 2. The bike must be in a box or protective bag. I used a specific bicycle cardboard box this time (1 way) but if it's a return flight I use a proper plastic/metal box. The bike must be dis-assembled, the tyres must be deflated. Hope this helped
Such a great motivation to get moving. Regarding logistics and your filming: On such a long journey, did you take a ton of SD cards for the GoPro/Camera, for the 8 days - or just back up/empty the cards onto hard-disk/laptop frequently?
Thanks for the message. I took a large capacity sd card with a back up. I would have loved to film more and taken more drone footage but recharging was an issue. That's ultimately why the videos are relatively short per section. I learned a lot regarding the logistics for my next long adventure!
Hi Andrew just watched all your Eurovelo 15 videos you did a great job editing them. They was informative & entertaining. I plan doing it sometime in the future the biggest problem seems how to get your bike to Andermatt ? I did think on last couple of videos they seemed a bit hazy was the lens ok ?.
Thanks for watching! I must say I got tired as I progressed and so my camera work probably suffered as a consequence. Getting to Andermatt is really very easy on the train, so fly to an airport near by and catch the train, is my best advice. Cheers and good luck 🤞
Thanks. 👍🏻 I used a regular combination lock cable. Enough of a deterrent to prevent opportunistic thieves plus I never really let it out of sight for more than a few minutes.
Andrew just love it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 really enjoyed being with you on this journey thank you for making the effort to record 👍🏻kudos
Hi Gareth, I'm grateful for your comment and being with me. Cheers

What an achievement! The memories will last a lifetime. I’d love to do the Rhein some time. Well done 😊
It was a great ride. Of course I was fascinated by the history as much as the scenery. Ich liebe Deutschland!
I finally got round to watching this and it was well worth the wait! Epic journey sir, You deserved a little tear at the end, proper emotional stuff!
Yer, all a bit soppy!!! I think I slightly surprised myself though! Thanks Dave Dave, 🚲👍 ps, hope you appreciated the Stork,🤣🤣

Looks like you had to dig deep to finish with that headwind! Looking forward to hearing more about it at some point.
Thanks Mike! Yes, strong wind, just like Norfolk!

Thanks Ricardo

Thanks Paul, that would be great 👍
Wow! Well done - a truly amazing acheivement. I am heading to the big 5-0 soon and it's inspirational to see your story.

Thanks for watching. I'm not sure what my next big ride will be. I'm hoping to use my trailer and do more local riding in Norfolk UK👍🚴
That was marvellous Andrew. Well done. Did you get the train back to Norfolk from Harwich?
I cycled to Manningtree then got a train to Norwich! Thanks for watching 👍
@@divum I live in Ipswich and wondered if you had cycled through!
Nearly....
Great journey adventure. Well done, will you be doing it on a regular basis now? You know the route now!😂
Absolutely, and save myself £10 flight ticket 🤣
What ferry did you get back? I'm hoping to do an Amsterdam to London ride at some point!
