Good review! I purchased the Ai One 7 S2S to compare to the LAB. It's a decent putter in this space. I've been gaming a LAB for a year so some pros and cons for me. I like the insert on the 7 S2S. I've been a mallet putter for a long time and always had mallets with inserts (original 2ball, 7, Spider) and initially struggled with the DF3 (no insert) on long putts. I've gotten used to it but it is a common adjustment/struggle based on what I hear from others. I like the forward shaft lean of the 7 S2S. I'm used to forward lean with the DF3 so the lean felt normal. However, the lab putters come with a press grip. I struggle with the shaft lean on the 7 S2S without the press grip - feels uncomfortable to me personally. I struggled with it feeling square at set up. If I put if down and let go, it doesn't stay perfectly square for me (indoor tested only). The DF3 stays square no matter what. The 7 S2S is better at mimicking the LAB than any of the other mallet putters I have used but not the same. At the end of the day, I think the 7 S2S insert "could" help me on longer putts and lag putts based on using inserts for many years. It feels decent but it is a "toe up" putter and not a "lie angle balanced" putter. For me personally, It won't replace the LAB. The best way I can explain it is the DF3 feels like it is on train tracks. The 7 S2S does not. LAB came out with the Oz.1i a couple weeks ago and I ordered one. They are 6+ weeks out on production but I'm really looking forward to testing it over the winter. I believe the LAB lie angle technology combined with an insert will be a game changer. Sam has mentioned LAB will come out with a DF3 insert version in 2025 as well. 🙂
Great review
Looking forward to seeing your course vlog
