Wow I only found you because I bought the Geo dress pattern and am I glad I found you ~ one because I was baffled by the instructions and your demo made it so clear as to how to put it together. Two because you are a woman after my own heart I often adapt patterns to my way of doing things once I get how to make it in the first place. I loved your cardigan hack pardon the pun 😂 I’m now confident to make the dress as a dress and to make it cardigan style too. Brilliant thank you. Stay safe we need you x
I like the cardigan but the dress was great! And you looked very slim in it! But the fact is that no matter what we look like in a garment - if something isnt "100% us" we don't wear it anyway. So it was very practical of you to cut it :)
Well.....that was a very diplomatic response! But you are absolutely right.....When I wear something it is totally about how it makes me feel rather than how it makes me look. Thankyou. Tree X
Oohhh. I absolutely didnt mean that the cardigan makes you look bad... Hope you didnt understand it that way. :( I'm impressed with how you "altered" it and how you "stayed yourself" in your style. But at the same time I just like the dress pattern ;) and I LOVE your videos.
Thankyou Diana....it's hard these days in RUclips with out content barely being scared with our followers......Feels like nobody really cares about content anymore and I could just as well be talking about my cat! Anyway, no more moaning and I have a few more tutorials lined up. Thank you, Tree X
Oh .....That is music to my ears!! I love to think that I might be able to reach out from the screen and have that effect but you know what I mean don't you, so many dress styles are not wearable for many of us as dresses my we can still have the joy of wearing them if we maje them into coats! Thankyou for the best comment ever!! Tree Xxx
@@StitchlessTV I actually have a similar "bubble" dress pattern I've made a couple of times as a dress but now I'm thinking about making a new one like a coat! You've got me thinking outside the box, Tree (as usual). I love your videos.
So happy with this video...i’ve made the dress before and had a lot of troubles with the side panels....now i’ve seen how you do it, i definitely want to have another go at this pattern! Love love love the cardigan version, much more me too so.....see if i can squeeze it out of a blanket....thank you so much!!! X
So glad you are inspired to have another go Juud. Obviously if you already know that you want it to be a coat or cardigan, then you will add facing when you are cutting out. I can imagine that you will like some sort of ribbed neckline or collar too....If I was adding a ribbed neckline to the cardigan I would make it happen like how I would apply it to a bomber jacket! Thankyou. Tree X
I did wonder if I should warn you all but was too scared to just go for it!! I still like it as a dress but I just know I will wear it loads as a cardigan. Thankyou. Tree X
Yes and yes....will do a short facing video. I really do this this lots of dresses that are not flattering to wear as dresses but look great as a coat or cardigan. Tree X
Hello, yes I agreed....the black stretch fabric looks great as a dress. Tutorial of facing will come after next upload soon. Thankyou so much for the feedback. Tree x
I love the dress one. Makes you look slimmer. Just my take on it. Wish I could get the know how to cut the pattern. It's costly for me to order patterns. But I must say, I love, love, love the dress. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤
They do it as a PDF that you can download and print it take the email to a printers and they will print it. Thankyou so much for your feedback. I'll be keeping the black one as a dress (although Shaz did pinch it off me the other day) Tree X
G'wan ya mad thing! Yes it's amazing on you as a cardigan/coat! I'm thinking this could be amazing in boiled wool..... For me, I'm thinking a dress with a structured woven front panel and floaty viscose side panels.
Yes boiled wool would look so good but I always feel trapped in boiled wool (I know....weird) but floaty front of dress is a great idea. Thankyou. Tree X
Hi Tree, loved the tutorial (as always). Fabric is gorgeous 😍 prefer it with the frill tbh and as I'm not much of a dress person I love the cardy version. Would it be possible to make it shorter so it's a thigh length jacket / short coat style or would the pockets get in the way meaning I would need to alter the pattern???? Thank youuuuuu 👏🏼😁
Oh......Well that's a great idea. I would say yes and if pockets are too long (as they are very deep) you can always lob a bit off the bottom of the pocket sac. Thankyou. Tree X
Hello, that's good to hear....lots of people did prefer it as a dress....I love the black stretchy one as a dress but was really wanted to know what the heavier fabric would be like as a cardigan so went for it! Thankyou. Tree X
I have ordered the gel dress and the bucket coat dress pattern about 4 weeks ago. I requested a printed pattern because I don’t have the ability to print a downloaded copy. Don’t know what to do because I can’t get in touch with company.
Hello, Sew Different sell the Geo Dress Pattern but I sell the Paper Bucket Coat Pattern. It's available from my Etsy Page Stitchless TV. I will put a link here in a minute. Thankyou. Tree x
Hello, no....I used the overlocker and when I hem it, will use a twin needle because it is a bit stretchy. If I didn't have an overlocker, I would be tempted to use a twin needle for all of it because it creates a good stretch seam and I don't need to change the needle for when I do the hems. Tree X
You could buy Shingo's Book TR Cutting, but make sure you get the right one with the Origami Pleats. If you are in the UK, Fashion Capital has a 1 DAY workshop with Claudette Joseph on Sat 29th June. Tree

I like both styles - as a dress and as a cardigan/coat. Very impressed. Barbara from Crosby, Liverpool.
Hello Barbara in Liverpool.....Thankyou so much for your feedback. Me too! Tree x
Absolutely brilliant...I had cut this out but I could not understand the instructions....and so just followed yours...thanks very much
Really....well that makes the video totally worth while! Thankyou for letting me know and I come the dress came out well! Tree x
I like it both ways, the jacket would be quite versatile.

Love the dress on you!!
Really, Thankyou so much X
Love it as a coat!!
Good.....thankuou....me too!
OMG ...it's a coat too! LOve it x
Well in my head it is....in fact I change all dress patterns bit dress patterns....usually much more wearable! Thankyou. Tree x
I love to mix and match paper pattern pieces, so I get garments which are much more “me” ...& saves the faff or pattern cutting from scratch too!
Me too!
As always, you blow my mind with a simple thing, such as transforming a dress into a coat. You are my Sewing/Fashion School Instructor! 💖

Definitely like the frill and I prefer the dress with the sweat shirt collar xx
Thankyou.....yes...the sweatshirt collar works well....and I would definitely wear that one as a dress! Tree X
I would have screamed if you hadn't warned me but I actually prefer the cardigan version!

The cardigan idea is a good one, I would like to see how you made the facing blend at the neck. Thanks
Ok.....yes, I'll do a facing and probably ribbed neck video soon. Thankyou so much for the feedback. Tree X

Loved this!!! 🥰🥰Oh gosh hard to decide if I like it better cardigan or dress!!! But I do know I love the way you did the ruffle edge!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻🌈
Thankyou.....you would look great as a dress with your tiny hips and long legs....I would wear the black stretch one as a dress. Thankyou. Xx
Cardigan all day long. It really is you.
Oh.....you know me well! Yes....I will wear it all day long....especially with those deep pockets! Thankyou. Tree x
Cardigan in that particular fabric and I’m always up for a little workshop please! 🍃

Excellent. Love both version but yes, Cardigan style best for you. Yes please on the facing tutorial ☆
Thankyou Kate....very diplomatic but I would wear the black stretch fabric one as a dress! Tree X
Just purchased the pattern :-)
@@StitchlessTV hi Tree, sorry forgot about the black dress when I commented. I think all versions look great. ☆

Thankyou.....I just find some dress styles more relaxed, or flattering as a coat or cardigan. Tree X
Great idea!
I loved it as a dress but loved it more when you cut it !! Loved the fabric you used was it a knit fabric?
Hello, it was an old Woollen Scarf/Shawl that was loosely woven and so kind of had a stretch to it...Thankyou so much for the feedback. Tree X

Such an interesting dress/cardigan! Did you sew all the seams with a double needle? If so, what is the reason for doing that?

what did you do with the sleeve cuffs???
Oh...I'm sorry......I say in the tutorial. I have more than 200 videos do difficult to remember
interesting this is not how it is shown on downloadable pattern, this is much easier?? Many thanks
