This is why I follow you, you are not just a maker, you’re a storyteller who makes. A good son, and from the looks of it a remarkable being. Beautiful story and a nice build.
Thank you Pierre. No matter how old we get, we would all love to hear our father say I'm proud of you son. Your stool looks incredible. That wooden screw is cool. You welding is coming along nicely.
That was the most touching heartfelt video I have ever watched. I'm all teared up watching this as a dad and a son and a grandson. This video meant so much to me, I can only imagine what it meant to you. You are an amazing creator. Thank you for sharing so much for all of us to benefit.
I feel you! Saying good bye too early to your father is tough. Making this video as a tribute to him is part of the healing process. I did the same thing on my channel and it was very helpful to my mourning process. My father was murdered when I was 17 and I wish he could have been around to see all that I have accomplished.
Now I know I’m a good friend of yours but as a son and more importantly a father this is undoubtedly the best video of the year. I see so much of my father in me and so much of how I want to be a better father. Thanks for all the feelings this video makes me feel. Who would have thought a woodworking video could make you feel this way. Thanks so much Pierre for making me realise what a great father I had and how I to be a better father to my sons cheers mate
I appreciate you sharing this and I’m lucky to still have both my parents still alive. As we all get older it’s starting to pop into my head more frequently that there is less and less time I will get to spend with them. Regardless of age there is a hidden countdown to the last time for everything.
I lost my dad to cancer 24 years ago. I still miss him and wish I could show him the things I’ve made or done. Great video. Keep it up. We are proud of you.
I'm fortunate to have my parents still with me and as a (soon) 40 yo, still proud to show them what I do in my shop. My dad use to say "Det finns inget som heter ´Jag kan inte´". Translates to "There's no such thing as "I can´t do it"" He's words still comes back to me when I stumble into new territories or cant figure things out. I teach my kids the same motivation and also adding my on flairs to it. Hoping that one day when they get stuck in difficult situations. They too can hear my voice in their heads, helping them when I'm not around. Thanks for sharing your story. It really hit right where it needed. And btw. Nice Stool.
Wow! I didn’t expect this. What a beautiful tribute! That’s a very personal story and I’m sure it took a lot of courage to share it…… i’m just glad you did. Thank you!
Sounds like a great Dad, just like mine was. 63Y was way too young for my Dad. You got me in tears, despite the very nice furniture you made in the meanwhile. Stay strong and keep your good memories alive and forget the bad ones.
Lost my dad in February 2015, he was a woodworker and welder by trade. You've inspired me to remake some of his furniture that I grew up with that he had made.
My dad passed from a rare blood cancer in 2017. He knew me as a DIYer, but didn’t live long enough to know me as a woodworker. In 2023 I made him a bottle opener for Christmas and gave it to my mom to hold on to since he wasn’t alive to receive it. ❤
Amazing remembrance, thoughtful and sincere. You were so lucky to have a dad like that! There is a saying in life that goes, "As a young man, we spend our first few years idolizing our dads, then through our teen years, we spend that time trying to be jut the opposite of them, then the rest of our lives trying to be exactly like them". Amazing video, sorry for your loss, but so grateful for your sharing!
I lost my father unexpectedly in febuary of this year. He always told me how proud he was, theres nothing like showing a father something you made. I miss him every day, the mornings are the hardest. Thank you so much for sharing this Ive watched it several times. The words bring me comfort. Much love from Texas.
I lost my dad too early as well. It was 13 years ago, and I miss him dearly, frequently! Thank you for sharing this story, your thoughts and emotions, and this build.
Not just a beautiful stool, but a beautiful story! I hope making both the stool and video gave you some comfort too. There is no doubt that a tribute like this from a son would make ANY dad proud! Thank you for sharing this in such a genuine way.
OMG... I'm not crying, you're crying... Thanks for telling such a touching tale. Having lost my dad last year, I can relate to your entire story. He was a great and skilled father.
Thanks for the wonderful video. I lost my dad about twelve years ago to cancer. We had a pretty good relationship, though a bit strained growing up. Once I was an adult and knew things he didn't, it changed everything and a new level of respect grew between the two of us. He had been woodworking for quite a few years and I was always amazed at the attention to detail he would put into even his shop furniture. I never thought I would do anything like that! Well, after he passed away, I inherited his table saw, router, miter saw and many other tools and started woodworking myself. I wish he could see some of the amazing things I've been able to make as I know he would be proud. I still wear his old baseball cap while woodworking to channel his spirit. Writing this is bringing tears to my eyes and now it is time to get off my butt and out to the shop!
A very moving video. You touched a very raw nerve for me. I lost my mum and step-father in the last 18 months. I held back my tears, I nearly made it to the end of the video. Towards the end I could hear your voice breaking up. Like my voice does. Every day, in my mind I talk to my mum and step-father but before I’ve ended my ‘conversation’ with them I have tears in my eyes.
It's been said already: you are a wonderful storyteller. I'm sure your father would be extremely proud of what you have achieved. While I listened to your story, I reflected on my life and relationship with my dad... thank you!
Not a lot makes me emotional. This did. I choked up at the end. I nearly lost my Dad to a heart attack a few years ago. He was dead for 8minutes, but CPR kept him going. Beautiful stool. Beautiful memories and incredible video.
I can’t even explain how I feel. You getting so personal, I feel proud to be one of your subscribers. This new style leaves me anticipating, not your next project which the stool is beautiful by the way; but I am more excited for your next story. This new style for you is truly wonderful.
That’s hand down the most passionate and heartfelt video I have seen on RUclips, the relationship between father and son can be a difficult one and the way you described your feelings, match how I felt with mine, who I also lost to cancer in 2022, your video brought a few tears but also reminded me again how much I miss him but also how much i respected him for what he did, you now have a new subscriber and I have a lot of videos to enjoy, thank you!
Mattias
I've watched a number of your videos as they have been funneled to me through the algorithm but today I became a subscriber. This was so well put together and really hit me. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your story. I find myself going in my dads footsteps as well. Lost him two years ago. I took over his old workshop and every thing I do, I keep asking myself if he would have liked the result. I miss him every day, but use my time in the workshop to remember him in a positive and constructive way..
Tack för att du delade denna berättelse, jag kände igen mig i så mycket. Jag förlorade min mamma i cancer för 7 år sedan. Varma hälsningar från Norge. -Fredrik
As an extremely non-confident, imposter syndrome sufferer maker who happens to be the son of a now elderly but talented former professional woodworker, this cut deep. My wife is so encouraging of the projects I make and things I 3d print. But I get a special kind of affirmation when my dad compliments my work. I don’t think a boy ever grows out of wanting to make dad proud.
Thank you for this, so many times I want to show my dad something I have done or made but can't. You put into words what I have been feeling since he passed eight years ago yesterday.
I lost my mother a decade ago, and I constantly wish I could share things with her. This was a beautiful story, and a beautiful piece of work. Good job.
As always such a wonderful storyteller. Thank you for sharing. Hit me right in the feels. Genuine honesty on the internet is a rare thing. Keep up the amazing work.
I think we all challenge our dads when we are kids. We resent having to help when forced to, as we consider the work a chore. It's not until you grow up that you realise that he actually taught you what you know. A lot of my friends didn't have to do these "chores" but they also don't have the skills that I have. Thank you dad for making me who I am today. It's a shame I couldn't have said this when I had the chance. Thank you Pierre, your woodworking and storytelling gives us the opportunity to question ourselves. Very deep.
Your father sounds like he was amazing guy....my condolences. I am sure he would have been very proud of your beautiful stool. it was a pleasure to watch you build it and I admit...I'm a bit teary listening to your story.
Damn man, what a video. Sorry for your loss, and I deeply admire the strength it took to make a video like this. I don't think I would have the confidence to share such a deep and meaningful part of your life like you did here. Best to you, your family and your dad.
I've been seeing some of your videos because it involves 3d printing, which I also really like and do a bit, and woodworking which I love to see and would love to learn. I like them but this video made me be one of your subscribers, the whole story and the tribute was really nice, I also lost my dad to cancer and this video reminded me of the things he also liked to invent do do on his shop and how I would love to spend hours just seeing him do it.
I'm 20 seconds into the video and i'm already crying listening to your words. I've been starting my woodworking business since a couple of months after dreaming it for 5 years, I'm 33 and I lost my dad in November '23, everyday I wish he could see me doing what I do.
What a powerful video. I have a similar feeling with my mother, we lost her to cancer two years ago. She was my partner in crime and we were two peas in a pod. I miss her every minute of every day but I know she would be proud of every project I complete and almost every decision I make. I thank you greatly for sharing the story of your relationship with your father ❤️
Made me tear up in the end! Felt this truly as I lost my dad to cancer too when I was just 23. I wish he could see me now and my beautiful family and his granddaughter! I’m sure he would be so proud ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this. A truly beautiful piece and a loving and warmhearted story. I too lost my dad to cancer and he, as yours, was a father who I would still love to show my makings to.☺️❤️ But your way was really loveing and i thank you for that. Greatings from Denmark
Perdí a mi padre en 2017, es de las historias más maravillosas que he escuchado hacia un padre. Aprendiste de el y eres una nueva y mejor versión de el como así serán los tuyos. el proyecto es muy bello. Felicidades y saludos.
Love the table and your story about your dad was relatable and inspiring. These two quotes made my tear up a little because its exactly how i I'm starting to feel now. 11:12 "You can't feel sorry for someone and fight them" 11:42 "did I choose to distance myself from him to make my life easier" Ive been growing apart from my dad more in recent years, and have not spent much quality time with him (besides occasionally watching tv). My dad and I still have many shared interests and I think it's time we do another project together. You've concinced me I should make an effort to spend time with my dad while I still have him.
This is the most wholesome, heartwarming and real video I've ever seen a maker post on RUclips, you made me cry man ❤️🩹🫂 THANK YOU I bet your dad was prouder of you than you ever knew he was ❣️
This is a great story. It resonated with me for the similarities of the loss. One thing it took me over 40 years to learn was that the shift of a father-son relationship from parent/child into man/man is awesome. I didn't really get to enjoy that with my Dad, but have come to treasure it with my son. I hear the loss in your voice, but just know I'm happy for you because you got to have that level of relationship with your Dad. He's proud of you, I am certain.
Thank you for sharing your story. While I still have my dad, my girlfriend lost her dad 2 years ago to cancer. He was literally one of my best friends and yesterday we celebrated his would have been 60th birthday. You brought up tears in my eyes when you were talking about pushing him away and you feel sorry for him... it is exactly what I'm going through right now. My dad got diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer and every day, me and my mom, have to say goodbye to a part of him. We feel sorry for him. You see such a big strong man slowly getting worse. It is the worst feeling. Thank you, again, for opening yourself up to your audience and have your true feelings come out, especially at the end. I wish you all the strength
I never had a chance to say goodbye to my dad, also couldn't let him go . I think losing a loving father is not something we can forget, i hope my and your fathers are in a better place now , free from all the pain they went through.
This resonated with me as I lost my father on Saturday. So far the grief hasn't really set in, but I'm trying to focus on the fact we had a great relationship and he had a great life
I'm surprised to find ourselves so similar. I too have felt like the imposter, fairly good at most things but never really really good at one thing. To hear you say this made me feel I'm not alone in the world. Like you I'm sticking with woodworking! We have similar thoughts about our Dads too. First time I've seen you and I will be subscribing. Can't wait to see your other video's especially the one showing wooden thread making. Thank you for posting such thoughtful and valuable content! regards from Western Australia. RM
What a wonderful tribute to your father. My dad was similar to yours in so many of the ways you mention. I became an engineer because I saw my dad making things, sometimes from the simplest materials, for my mum and our family home. He was never a touchy-feely kind of dad but he always did the best for his family. It was very moving to hear you talk about your dad, and I could hear the emotion in your voice, especially towards the end of the video. I lost my dad to cancer in 2014, and everytime I make or fix something I'm reminded of him. I felt the continuity of it all a few weeks ago when my son messaged me from his home asking how to fix the brakes on his bike, only to message again about 5 minutes later to say he had worked it out and it was fixed; I smiled and thought of my dad, knowing he would approve.
Lost my dad after a long fight as well. I can relate to the feelings you describe in your video. Thank you so much for this video it helped put some things into perspective. Thank you ❤
This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story about your relationship with your father whilst making such a beautiful piece of furniture. I love your content.
Thanks for sharing all the work you put into this piece and the feelings you had behind it. I know your dad would be proud, both of the woodworking and the video..
What an amazing tribute to your Dad. My Dad passed away in 2015 and I've never stopped missing him. The workshop I have today, and my interest in working with wood comes form the times I spent with him when I was a kid, helping him with his own projects. They are some of my favorite childhood memories. I fought with him for all the same reasons you fought with your Dad but in the end, none of that mattered. All that matters now is that he was an amazing Dad and I love him very much.
Great video. Powerful and touching meditation about your dad. My condolences on his passing. I’m glad you’re finding peace and ways to make him proud and connect with him even after his passing. You have motivated me to put more effort into my relationship with my dad, thank you for that.
It's been over 13 years since I lost my dad. I loved this video, it struck a chord in my heart. Thank you for sharing especially for such a close personal subject.
Man, that was touching, and not just because you told almost my my dad's and my story... It took me almost two years to stop to grab for my phone to call him when I wasn't sure at something, but even nowadays I try to see my projects through his eyes. This is the strong father's legacy. I do respect and thank you for this video (too).
This was very touching and wonderful to watch and listen to. Thank you so much for your openness and bravery to share this story with the world.❤ You are a great storyteller and it is beautiful to watch you grow!
Thank you very much for your video. I came here right away to leave some nice comments, but I realized there are many people who feel the same way I do. My father and I are also makers. I feel very lucky that I can still show my father what I make and express my gratitude for what he has taught me. After watching your video, I decided to call him. Thank you very much for your content, and congratulations on being such a great father. Greetings from Brazil.
Thank you, I was similar to yourself and started doing videos just so I could show my dad what I had been making and try to make him proud of me. Since he past away I haven’t really had the same feeling about making videos, but I have been thinking of doing them again for my grandson. Watching this has made me remember, thank you.
What a great tribute to your dad. I am sure a lot of us can relate to how you feel about him, and the relationship you had. I do for sure. Also, it’s admirable that you dare to show your feelings like you do.
Wow... there's a lot to unpack there and you did it beautifully. The dynamic between a father and son can be complicated and difficult because the young and the old always see the world through different eyes. But with the passage of time, we eventually begin to see ourselves and our fathers in a different light. One day we look in the mirror and see our fathers looking back at us and we begin to realize that in spite of the conflicts and arguments, we were always more similar than different. When we have sons of our own, the circle closes and we gain a better understanding of what our fathers went through. At that point, insight, forgiveness and some amount of guilt usually follows. I think this process is especially poignant for makers like us. One of the reasons I like to create functional and (hopefully) beautiful things for my children and other important people in my life is to leave something behind after I'm gone. Perhaps one of them will be inspired to pick up some tools and make something of their own. I'm sure your Dad was very proud of you and you've created a lovely tribute to him.
It’s so heart warming seeing this video! Thank goodness that there are people who have feelings like this. Love. Sadness. Proudness. Curiosity. Sadly, my Father and me broke up. I’m 36 now and he is 70. I have ADHD And the Fir diagnosis was with 13. Second with 18. third with 28. After each one, I Spoke to him. I Remember each One of These conversations. Everytime, he Look At Me an told me „this doesn’t exist! You are just a fault“. The older I got, the further my therapy’s went, I try to see through his eyes. I know his past Problems in the Family the Separation of the Brothers because of the Land from her parents. Fair. But, aber all this time. I build up som kind of „he’s a stranger“. Gues I never going to have such feelings for him like you have to yours! And this makes me truly sad. And happy! Hold these kind of love tight.
Pierre, thanks for sharing this emotional story. Although my father had a long live life, I still miss him dearly and often would like to show him my projects or experiences. Good memories and fond feelings are of pivotal importance.
What a beautiful, heart-wrenching story. Yes, your dad is proud of you. I imagine he wishes that your relationship could have been deeper, but he was of a generation where that wasn't normal (or easy). And that stool is perfect.
I never leave comments on videos... This though, is profoundly beautiful. You're an exceptional human being. Which speaks volumes of your father. Consider me inspired.
What a cool way of combining 3D printing and woodworking. The stool turned out great, I'm sure your dad would be proud. Lost mine last year at 54 due to a heart disease. I keep catching myself being excited to show him something and then remembering. Regretting all the times I thought he was being lame and not listening to him. I believe it's important to talk about these things, to share our experiences. Thank you for sharing yours in such a nice way.
Thank you. Tears fill my own eyes at much of what you said. I too had a similar relationship with my dad, who was a mathamatician, where i was the dreamer. Much of what I see in who I grew to be is through hindsight of my relationship to my dad, and the choices we made. Its odd how when we were young, I saw the differences. And now only when I am his age, I see the similarities between us. I lost him 7 years ago from early onset alzheimers. I feel the signs of myself having the same condition, and fear the impact I and it will have on my own son and family.
This really hit. My experiences with my dad were very much similar and I wish I'd had seen alot of things clearer much sooner. Mine passed away in 3 months due to cancer. Worst months of my life.
I not only watch your video’s because they are fun, but also the relaxing voice. Specially at the end of the video I could hear the emotion. I still have my dad, so I cannot understand the feeling, but you made me feel it as far as I can understand it. You’re a legend for being this open!
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I’m sure we all have our father stories and how we choose to remember them and how as we get older, those memories and lessons change, as we do. We lost our dad a few years ago. He was a strong and proud man and father. He worked very hard through his life providing for us all and earned a lot of respect from us, his peers and his coworkers. Coming from Holland and doing all of the “first of things” his diamond cutting skills he created due to his incredible passion. I miss him dearly!!! Thank you again for sharing.
Thank you. This touched me, deeply. My Father was from Sweden. Immigrated in 1922 to the USA. He was 50 when I was born so we had less time together than most. But the time we had together was spent wisely. He retired from carpentry when I was still in high school so we never really worked together. I realized that dream with my son. Thank you for your content. It's appreciated.
My father had absolute faith in me, believed in me - but never saw my wood carving journey - I always say I’d love to show him as I know he would’ve loved it too - thank you for sharing ❤
That was the most beautiful and touching video you've ever made Pierre! Your storytelling skills are excellent. It was really moving how you presented all aspects of your relationship with your father throughout your life. We are shaped by our parents in more ways than we realize until we get older and gain more wisdom and understanding. He would have been proud of you for this tribute to him in the video and physical object of the stool, along with the success you've had as a content creator.
I have been a subscriber for a while and absolutely love your channel. This video made me cry while watching it. I am what I am because of the fantastic father that raised me. He’s gone now and I still miss him. We never parted without saying I love you. I owe him so much and since I can’t repay him I’m devoting what I am to my daughter and granddaughter. Hopefully he will see my actions that he taught me and be proud.
Pierre, that was unexpected but so beautiful. While I still have my dad it made me think of my mother who passed away almost 20yrs ago now. The best feeling is to realize how our dear persons live on in us. They never really are gone. ❤️ Such a beautiful story and your images and projects are getting better and better. Keep up doing you!
Didn’t expect to cry on a furniture video, damn ❤
This is why I follow you, you are not just a maker, you’re a storyteller who makes. A good son, and from the looks of it a remarkable being. Beautiful story and a nice build.
Thanks! Appreciate it alot!
Lost my dad to cancer as well. Hats off to how beautifully you paid tribute to him
Thank you and sorry for your loss
Lost my dad last month and this video broke me. Thank you for sharing the healing words.
So sorry to hear that!
Thank you Pierre.
No matter how old we get, we would all love to hear our father say I'm proud of you son.
Your stool looks incredible. That wooden screw is cool.
You welding is coming along nicely.
Thank you 🙏
That was the most touching heartfelt video I have ever watched. I'm all teared up watching this as a dad and a son and a grandson. This video meant so much to me, I can only imagine what it meant to you. You are an amazing creator. Thank you for sharing so much for all of us to benefit.

Im so sorry to hear that mate. Its been a long process I guess but telling our stories will probably help others as well
This is the best way to honour his memory. I lost my dad to cancer too, when I was 27 years old. Well done. He would be proud.
I already know you as a good friend and from what I can tell - a great father and the best of a friend. 🙏
I appreciate you sharing this and I’m lucky to still have both my parents still alive. As we all get older it’s starting to pop into my head more frequently that there is less and less time I will get to spend with them. Regardless of age there is a hidden countdown to the last time for everything.

Very moving.
Its brave of you to open like that to... well, everyone.
Thank you.

Wow, this hits hard… lost my father and grandmother in the covid period… couldn’t give them a proper ceremonie to say my last goodbye….
sorry for your loss
Mattias
Tack Mattias!
I've watched a number of your videos as they have been funneled to me through the algorithm but today I became a subscriber. This was so well put together and really hit me. Thank you.
thank you! appreciate it
Thanks for sharing your story. I find myself going in my dads footsteps as well. Lost him two years ago. I took over his old workshop and every thing I do, I keep asking myself if he would have liked the result. I miss him every day, but use my time in the workshop to remember him in a positive and constructive way..
sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing
that's good stuff man.
Strong story !! From a guy that grew up whitout a father. Stay strong and continue to be a great man !!!
Beste hilsener ifra Norge !!
Thank you for this, so many times I want to show my dad something I have done or made but can't. You put into words what I have been feeling since he passed eight years ago yesterday.
Beautiful story Pierre. Thank-you for sharing ❤ Sorry for your loss.
I’m lucky enough to still have my dad- you’ve reminded me to make the most of that and give him a call in the morning. Thanks.
you should! thanks!
Keep up the amazing work.
thank you 🙏 appreciate it
I think we all challenge our dads when we are kids.
Thank you!
Pierre, nu fick du mig att gråta. Jobbade med din pappa på Fyllingeskolan. Han är saknad. Vilken glädjespridare! Fortsätt med det du gör!
Tack Robin! 🙏❤️
I'm 20 seconds into the video and i'm already crying listening to your words. I've been starting my woodworking business since a couple of months after dreaming it for 5 years, I'm 33 and I lost my dad in November '23, everyday I wish he could see me doing what I do.
Sorry about your loss! Keep making man!
Thanks for sharing this story about you and your dad. Very touching ❤
Im sure she would be. Thank you for sharing
Greatings from Denmark
thank you! 🙏
Perdí a mi padre en 2017, es de las historias más maravillosas que he escuchado hacia un padre. Aprendiste de el y eres una nueva y mejor versión de el como así serán los tuyos. el proyecto es muy bello. Felicidades y saludos.
Gracias por compartir y por tus amables palabras.
Love the table and your story about your dad was relatable and inspiring.
These two quotes made my tear up a little because its exactly how i
I'm starting to feel now.
11:12 "You can't feel sorry for someone and fight them"
11:42 "did I choose to distance myself from him to make my life easier"
Ive been growing apart from my dad more in recent years, and have not spent much quality time with him (besides occasionally watching tv).
My dad and I still have many shared interests and I think it's time we do another project together.
You've concinced me I should make an effort to spend time with my dad while I still have him.
This is the most wholesome, heartwarming and real video I've ever seen a maker post on RUclips, you made me cry man ❤️🩹🫂 THANK YOU
I bet your dad was prouder of you than you ever knew he was ❣️
This is a great story.
Agree! Thanks for watching
This resonated with me as I lost my father on Saturday. So far the grief hasn't really set in, but I'm trying to focus on the fact we had a great relationship and he had a great life
Im sorry for your loss. That is the right focus - I did the same
I'm surprised to find ourselves so similar. RM
Hey man! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts - truly appreciate it.
Detta träffade mig rakt i hjärtat utan omvägar…❤️
Tack
Tack! 🙏
What a powerful and amazing video. Your dad would have been proud and what you made is beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you! 🙏
Great video. Powerful and touching meditation about your dad. My condolences on his passing. I’m glad you’re finding peace and ways to make him proud and connect with him even after his passing. You have motivated me to put more effort into my relationship with my dad, thank you for that.
For the first time, watching a video about furniture making makes me want to cry. I sympathize with your loss.
Beautiful video Pierre! Your dad is really proud of you from heaven!
It's been over 13 years since I lost my dad. I loved this video, it struck a chord in my heart. Thank you for sharing especially for such a close personal subject.
Thanks for sharing this story! You have given myself reason to pause and enjoy my kids more.
Thankyou for sharing such an emotional story, and not being afraid to let us hear your emotion.
Thank you! Appreciate it
Man, that was touching, and not just because you told almost my my dad's and my story...
It took me almost two years to stop to grab for my phone to call him when I wasn't sure at something, but even nowadays I try to see my projects through his eyes. This is the strong father's legacy.
I do respect and thank you for this video (too).
This was very touching and wonderful to watch and listen to. Thank you so much for your openness and bravery to share this story with the world.❤ You are a great storyteller and it is beautiful to watch you grow!
thank you! Appreciate it
Thank you very much for your video.
Thanks a lot 🙏
Thank you, I was similar to yourself and started doing videos just so I could show my dad what I had been making and try to make him proud of me. Since he past away I haven’t really had the same feeling about making videos, but I have been thinking of doing them again for my grandson. Watching this has made me remember, thank you.
What a great tribute to your dad. I am sure a lot of us can relate to how you feel about him, and the relationship you had. I do for sure.
Also, it’s admirable that you dare to show your feelings like you do.
A piece of art, very well made and this made me emotional as well. Thanks for sharing a maker's story this way.
Wow... there's a lot to unpack there and you did it beautifully.
Thank you! You make some good points. Even if they won't pick up the tools I think we do leave them with the sentiment of making
WOW!! Lost mine 2 years ago... This one hits so hard! Just keep going! He is sooooo proud!
Thank you! Sorry for your loss
What a beautiful, heart-wrenching story. Yes, your dad is proud of you. I imagine he wishes that your relationship could have been deeper, but he was of a generation where that wasn't normal (or easy). And that stool is perfect.
Thank you! Agree - it was a different generation
Thank you for sharing yours in such a nice way.
thank you for sharing as well - I agree - it's important to talk and share it
We buried my wife’s grandmother today. Thanks for sharing. It has helped my day.
Lovely and heart warming story that impacted me more than I thought it would. Thank you! Oh, and the stool is lovely too! Well done.
Thank you! Appreciate it!
I am sure he is beyond proud of you. I'm sorry for your loss. Lost my dad in 2002 due to leukemia.
Sorry to hear that! Thank you
Thank you for sharing. You take care of your self
Wow! This is the reason why I follow you. Really felt this one. I know, you made him proud.
This really hit. My experiences with my dad were very much similar and I wish I'd had seen alot of things clearer much sooner. Mine passed away in 3 months due to cancer. Worst months of my life.
sorry about your loss! thanks for watching
I not only watch your video’s because they are fun, but also the relaxing voice.
Specially at the end of the video I could hear the emotion.
I still have my dad, so I cannot understand the feeling, but you made me feel it as far as I can understand it.
You’re a legend for being this open!
thank you! 🙏
I feel you! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your story.
My father had absolute faith in me, believed in me - but never saw my wood carving journey - I always say I’d love to show him as I know he would’ve loved it too - thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you!
Thanks Ben! I believe you nailed it there. We need to grow our selves before we realise we are shaped by them
I have been a subscriber for a while and absolutely love your channel.
Im sure he will! thanks for sharing
That's a nice shirt! But the video is over the top mate!
I believe we share that shirt :) Thank you!
Thank you! Appreciate it a ton!
Thanks… I can relate to your story.. a truly great storyteller too. It brought back strong memories for me too.. Regards from right over the border.
