Just remember that last image can come at anytime. I'm living for 2 old friends that didn't make it out their 20's.
I’m very sorry for both of your loss. It really is imperative to live as much as you can in every moment you’re given. I lost my at the time best friend in a car crash, a day before his 14th birthday, we were both in middle school at the time. Now I’m well into my college education, and life is barreling past me like a bullet train. I also ask myself weather we’d still be friends if he were here today. I promised him after he died I would live twice as much for him, but I have failed him. I live very little, and time seems to exponentially accelerate. Edit: also,
My dogs are somehow eight years old already, I remember when they were only a month old like it was last week. Now they only have four years left. Life, time, is the most precious thing in the universe.
Same, except now I have the third one recently. Every time it happen, I remind myself that I should get my dream done and live a life without regret.

My middle school best friend passed away 4 days before my 18th birthday
The fact that there are no words with the last image, and a dozen implied meanings, makes this a masterpiece. Anything they could have put there might have detracted from it or come of cheesy, but leaving it blank made it truly poignant.

I have a weird theory that consciousness goes on after you die. Essentially you get reborn because if you are dead you dont know anything you cant know youre dead and its like before you were born. So if there is a way for reincarnation you would live again but if there isnt you wouldnt be aware of it. It may sound dumb but i feel it kinda makes sense when you think about it

Always live your days like it’s your last
Real life doesn't start when you're an adult with money, it doesn't start when you get your dream job, or when you don't have to work.
Real life starts from the moment you are conscious, from the first moment you think or see things, you are already living.

This hits hard. Eversince i became a senior, i was filled with lots of expectations especially since i was first in my class. And my life became more hectic when i joined the student council. Whenever i would try to stop for a moment to play some games i would then be reminded of my responsibilities then i would continue doing my modules. Come to think of it, i frequently got sick in the past months. There was a time i almost collapsed inside the bathroom and would experience some headaches while lying in my bed. I was so caught up trying to match everyone's expectations so that they wont be disappointed in me, that i dont even realize how tired my mind and body was. This video is a literal slap in the face for me.
Hey, I don't mean to intrude, but why did you join the Student Council? Is it because of expectations, or is there something you wanted to improve or maintain?

I worked as a Barista sometime ago and meet an elderly guy. One time we had a little chat going on and I told him a funny but also pathetic story about me failing talking to a girl I was interested in. He weezed his ass off, then told me perhaps the most important piece of wisdom I've ever received. He told me "At my age, you come to realize how little fuck there is to give. Regrets are hilariously painful, especially in your case. People are too busy thinking about themselfes to notice your every detail. Even if they would notice, wait 'til you get old and fat - like me - and see if anybody remebers. I'm sure I don't." After that, he told an Oldtimer joke about him and his wife being forgetful. But yeah! Hope this shared, littel story is as helpful as it was for me. Elderly people are awesome and I would recommend setting status aside and actually have conversations with them. They lived probaly 2-3 times as long as you have and possibly experienced the same or more then you have. Sometimes it's like watching a prequel so you understand the actual movie much better with the extra context. Maybe talking to them can solve your issue or at least ease your state of mind.
Btw back then I mustered enough courage to ask the girl out again. I got served... again.. turns out she was gay the whole time. Who would have thought 🤔

that's the problem. most people are scattered, have no discipline, so their relationships in the family, at work and in their dreams are not strong. it is more correct to single out for yourself the most important things in life - family, dream, health - and work in this direction. Give 100% in every point and then there will be nothing to regret. And more importantly, you will leave brightly, not in hospital s👺it
The only thing is insecurity stops me

I'm thinking of working in a HCOL area and saving for a decade then moving back and retiring in my 30's. If you're from a rich country it's def possible to retire comfortably in a poor country. This hit so hard man. I’m 19 and mad scared of growing up. I dreaded turning 18 because I was like “wow I’m really about to become an official adult” and now I’m dreading 20 because I will no longer be a teenager and I’ll be a full adult but I still feel mentally 16...
The future is just so scary man. But due to social anxiety I stay in doors all the time and I feel like I’m missing out on life rn. I tell myself “when I’m older I’ll be free of my anxiety and will finally live life” but life is passing me by right now. Will anything change when I’m older? What if I get to 25 and say the same “life will be better when I’m older?” The worst fear I have is growing up but also growing up but still being in the same place I am now.
This hit me so hard. I really need to sort myself out and start trying to get out and enjoy life and do things and make the most of my time so I can look back and be happy before it’s too late.
Why do I relate to this, this hits hard ya'll let's enjoy our lives before it's too late 🤧
As someone with anxiety/depression; don't let it keep you from enjoying your life. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but there's a good chance that if you have it at your current age, you will probably always have it unless you actively work to lessen said anxiety. Either that, or when you get to an age that you don't care about it anymore.
I'm not saying it's easy to ignore, but it's better to try and push through it rather than doing nothing.
Anxiety can be useful sometimes; but you can't let it be the only thing you feel.
I'm about to be 30 in 2 months, and mentally I still feel 16. It's been like that for years, and I waited for things to get better. I'm not old, however I could have done so much in the past decade that would have improved my life, had my anxiety not gotten the better of me.
Eat healthy, try not to eat a lot of pasta/bread and get exercise (things I only very recently started taking seriously), and it will very likely help with your anxiety as well as your overall demeanor/outlook.
Find friends to go on walks/runs with every once in a while, go to movies (if you feel safe doing so cause... well. current world issues...), just force yourself to get out, and try to inch out of your comfort zone each time if you can.
You don't need to take "any" advice from a random internet person; but if you do, let it be that you take control of your life back from your anxiety; before suddenly your 30 y/o and have next to nothing to show for your life.
You don't need to go outside all the time, there's plenty to do online and inside. But occasional walks are good, and exercise can get your mind on a better path.
If you're dissatisfied, you can try to learn useful skills (sewing, new recipes for cooking, etc. you don't need to look very far, these examples don't sound flashy but the value is immense because your home, meals, etc. are a big part of your life) and find an art you enjoy doing. Learn how to produce music or play an instrument (play by ear, improvise something, or alternatively read sheet music, different ways with different feelings and results), draw something, read, or get your curiosity stimulated in some way. The goal is to improve yourself in various ways. That'll be useful or engaging, I hope... Again, there's plenty to do and learn, you just gotta find something suitable among these and hop into it. Of course, you can juggle multiple interests and try things only to find out later that something else is better, but try not to have too many because you'd overstretch into not mastering anything.
Life is far from being only about enjoyment, though. The reason self-improvement is valuable is because it makes you a better decider of your future. So it won't be a question of "will life be better?" but instead "this could make me better off, so I'll make my life even better". Some things will be useful, some not always. So here's a perhaps new viewpoint to consider: Simply if you're engaged in what you do, or you find it's a good/useful endeavor, then this is a sign your time and life is not being wasted. In which case, keep it up. Keep your courage, keep doing what you do best, and hopefully make it even better over time.
Also, don't be too self-critical... No one's perfect, you can improve. But at least you seek the improvement, at least you said so. If you believe it deep in your heart, bones and soul, it should put your mind at ease and drive you forward. probably.
I'm 23 and still continually do the stuff I did for fun when I was a kid. Haha. As you age, just let go of whatever is harmful to your success, but keep whatever adds actual joy.
I relate, I turned 20 last year and I am about to be 21. I am in my penultimate year of college and jobs are about to be here in the next 2 semesters and I think I have wasted all my time doing nothing. I am scared of the future and not achieving anything in life, meanwhile my friends are getting high end jobs and succeeding in life (they are in their last year). It's tough to see every moment pass and me still not having the motivation of doing anything, my only ray of hope was working out but last week I got sick and tried to recover and was finally looking forward to go to the gym today but life struck again and I pulled a nerve in my right inner thigh and couldn't move my leg properly another day of not working out and body dysmorphia strikes again. I feel like all the progress I had made in my last months are going to waste.

That last part hits hard. All the others had optimism that what came next would be really living, getting to experience the life she wanted to have. She got older, still expecting she'd be living her "real life" soon without realizing she already could do that now. Eventually she's at the end of her life, in a hospital bed on life support, she doesn't have that optimism anymore, it's finally dawned on her just what she did all this time - and she doesn't say a word, there's nothing to be said really, she put off living her life so long that when she finally realized how short it was, it was already too late.
Live life now, even if it's just the little things, enjoy what makes you happy. Time doesn't wait for anyone, use it while you've got it. Give a loved one a hug today, tell your friends you care about them, give yourself some love too. You never know how much time you've got until it's too late.

Yep. That is so...
My life ended before it could start
I think the message in this video is pretty clear, but a lot of people i read took a very sombre meaning to the thing (which is ok btw !). In my eyes, the story shows us how the girl wanted to “start her life” at different points in time, when in truth her life ALREADY started. She got so caught up on the THOUGHT of living life, that she forgot to essentially LIVE. The story hits particulary hard, when you realize life isn’t all about big life goals, sometimes what you have now is enough to be happy, but since we’re always looking up and seeing all the things we HAVEN’T achieved, we keep on thinking that this is n0t the peak of our lives. When in truth, our lives will only peak if we LET it. So all in all, what the video is saying is that we should just enjoy the things we have now, rather than waiting for that opportune moment to be happy, why not make yourselves happy and don’t wait on things. Do what you want and can, sometimes the obvious is the answer ad not some complicated world changing thing. And, if living in “normal” is making you happy than don’t let society make you think that you should achieve more just because.
But yeah just my take opinions are allowed :P
well said!!!! every day i regret not doing something in the past, and i still even now, live ur life as if u only have one (which u do)!!!
I feel like that’s still a bit sombre if you think about it. People spend so much time thinking they will have a true adventure when they’re retired or at this point in their life when life really is about cherishing every moment you have. You only live one life, don’t take it for granted
Sorry I must disagree with you. The video must be telling us about how to "Socialize with other people". Of course, it's good to have ambition to be successful person but don't forget to interact with others too. The woman in that video looks like she forgets to interact with other people and only focus to work and work to become success, eventually sick because of that. In the end of the video we see that woman in the hospital alone, kind of looks regretting and blaming herself without anybody around her. She must have felt that all her work come in nothing now. She feels nothing in her life. She's living a miserable live cause she didn't have someone to support her, even to just talk with her. She didn't have anyone cause all her life, she spent on working and working until she's success. She must have been regretting her choice now that she's all alone in the hospital
@@wilsongandakusumaKinda specific to choose the social factor. I think it wants to "address" everything that comes with living life so focused on one thing & not really living. Maybe she had friends & family- we don't know- but we only see her because it is about her & how she approached life.

As the Greeks put it, hope is the cruelest illusion. We have to lie to ourselves things will get better to make it to the next day.

Prevalence of Depression Among Adults Aged 20 and Over: United States, 2013-2016, CDC:
"The prevalence of depression among adults decreased as family income levels increased.
"
"Overall, 15.8% of adults from families living below the federal poverty level (FPL) had depression. The prevalence of depression decreased to 3.5% among adults at or above 400% of the FPL (Figure 3).
Among both men and women, the prevalence of depression decreased with increasing levels of family income.
Men with family incomes at or above 400% of the FPL had the lowest prevalence of depression (2.3%), while women with family incomes below the FPL had the highest prevalence (19.8%).

"Statistically speaking, most companies don't survive the third generation for this reason"
Ah yes, ONE paper in 1980s studying manufacturing companies in Illinois.
Of course, more comprehensive reviews since then have found this to be absolute fucking bullshit.

@@Volcano22207 not about dropping all, but hobbies can happen. Also if you’re wealthy you can risk changing careers and recover if all goes to hell
She was born to work not make a family. Such is life for some people
You do realize work and family aren’t the only things in the world
@@Volcano22207 yeah, so? It's her choice not seeing work as her life and not feeling fulfilled in it.
Honestly this wasn’t the greatest depiction of aging and living life happily and gracefully,I can say it’s accurate in the sense that if you don’t really live life meeting new people making friends, creating a family, your elder years will be lonely .From my own personal experience of watching my great grandmother and my grandmother and mother age they lived happily and still live happily with the families and friends they’ve created which I can say is really important when aging happily so live life happily and make fiends and family or growing old lonely like in this video can be your future.
It's just scary, it's just scary how much I relate to this girl and might somewhen become like her.
Right now I'm almost 14, I got friends and a supportive family but going to school is keeping my mental health in a good place yet somehow does the exact opposite at the same time, I keep saying to myself "it will all become better once I graduate" but I don't even know how the real world is.
I said it to my teacher and my parents but I'm so f*cking scared about future, I keep on stressing out about things I shouldn't worry about and I can't help it, the blurriness of the future is unbearable.
I don't even work that hard, my life are just fine and I should not be whining about anything yet I keep saying to myself that it will get better over time although it probably just go downhill.
I know nobody asked and I will probably see this comment in the future and say to myself how dumb I was, sorry about taking your time reading this.
I think I will go eating some ice-cream and get some sleep. Good night.
Enjoy life while you can. The older you get, the more complicated things feel and get.
3 little corners of life. Preparation for the future, preparation for the now, and enjoying the now.
The goal is to do as much of the third as you can without sacrificing the other two.
As I've always said, if you make a consistent and active effort to improve something, even so far as to say 'your entire quality of life', you will.

@@shirothefish9688 I'll try making an effort.
Also, you're doing a great job sounding motivational
Worrying over these things is a kind of standing still. It's fine once in a while, but if you're unhappy with what it does to your mood, then movement is the best cure. Doing things, talking with people, it all leaves little time to reflect. Personally however I love standing still like this. It allows you to ask questions. What's next? What do you want to do? How do you get there?
It can be scary, but if you find some answers you'll be more grounded than someone that didn't dabble in the fear a little. Moderation is key as always.
You're very clever and rational for your age, though do not overthink things, life is not as complicated and sometimes you should just follow the flow of it until you enjoy it. Overthinking makes things look difficult and leads to depression, be sure to find a balance between joy and ambitions in your life
As a basically 16 year old who is still pretty much in your place, I can tell you to just go with what you feel like doing… go with the flow. Success will always come to you if you allow it to. If not success, then a bit of happiness will do. Happiness is everything but a goal. Let your experiences be the goals themselves. The very fact you’re alive and reading this right now proves you can do many great things. Being still and questioning every single thing and even your own abilities is okay. I believe it’s meant to happen. Trust my words, I have good intentions for you and others reading my comment. :)
