LAST HEROES - “All I See, You See Me” ALBUM RANKING
All I See - Fun Intro - A great start to the album. Atmosphere is super sweet and showcases LH’s glitchy but natural sound design. The rock section feels like the newer style they have been going for but it blends in well. Also Crywolf was a super nice addition to this fantastic intro
Sunlight - 8.25/10 - This one def grew on me. The vocal chord stacks are very easy on the ears and that fill in the drop is so sick and makes the drop feel huge! Fractures was nice but kinda just existed as another melody for me.
Odd Ones Out - 9.5/10 - First off, Runn and Dia are both amazing. They add such a light and fun energy that matches with the drops. This one truly showcased LH’s new melodic style more focused on ear candy synths like bells, twinkles, and classic synth rises. Such a feel good tune and I am always blown away by the production.
Atmosphere - 8/10 - This song is truly the master of atmosphere. Crazy fluttering synths match the airy pads and the natural instruments are such a pleasure to listen to.
Illusion - 9.5/10 - This song is one of the most innovative tracks I have ever heard. The bass is punchy and brings such a dark and frightening mood to the track. The leads are very discrete and the stacks glow with impact. Tyler Graves is nice here as well. Overall, such a unique tune that really shows that LH are back!!
Back Now - 8.75/10 - One of the tracks that definitely grew on me as I was able to listen to it in context with the album. The bouncy feel flows into a more rigid drop that still works very well in my op. The bells that come in have such a profound sound, and the melody is so catchy and creative. Ethan Dufault also sounds great with the light feel of the verses.
You See Me - 8.5/10 - An absolute feel good pop inspired bop with electronic tendencies. Those vocal chops are such an earworm and accompany the minimal production impressively. It’s a real track for sure!
I Love You Enough To Let You Go - 10/10 - The energy of this song is unmatched. It hooks the listener from the first seconds with ominous chords that lead to Nevve’s incredible vocal work. The song leans into a dark build up that drops to a very unique color bass masterpiece with LH’s super punchy stacks and properly placed foley sprinkled around. The blend of old and new sounds is such a refreshing take on melodic bass. The second drop brings out the more old school LH with the euphoric sound design and uplifting melody
Feels Like - 8/10 - LH try their hand at DnB! The lead is a bit odd at the start but the second half of the drop makes up for it. This one just makes you smile as light drums accompany a growling baseline. Ayelle adds a sweet tone to the track as well which fits the vibe.
Stay The Night - 9/10 - More driven by their newer guitar sound, this song leans on the poppier side of electronic music, similar to Back Now. The grungy hits in rhythm are very satisfying and the bell-like synths at the end are ridiculously euphoric. It even has a halftime section and Dyson killed it as well.
You I Needed - 10/10 - This whole track is an emotional masterpiece. LH brings back their “Finding Light” structure with airy stacks, melodic candy spread throughout, and a smooth lead near the back end - all in tandem with TROVES gorgeous vocals which soar throughout the drops. Ambiguous atmosphere, odd leads, guitars, and superior synth work really put this beautiful track together and create something truly special
Is It So Wrong (Waiting On You) - Emotional Outro - LH and Woodlock take their time exploring ways to express emotion with beautiful piano and guitar work along with vocal melodies that reach the soul. A buildup in energy releases with the end of the album and a breath of fresh air. A great way to end this body of work
Overall: 9/10
MASTERFUL
LH really steps out and gives us something truly special. Every song has its own melodic flavor and feels like they have their own personality while also staying with the theme of the project. This album blew my expectations out of the water from production quality to creative risk taking. Overall, a full pleasure to listen to.
The singles grew on me tremendously near the albums release and although it's not quite Finding Light tier, it's a gorgeous album with a surprising amount of experimentation.
My favourite is actually Is It So Wrong. Such a beautiful piece.
The last song in the album would have been insane if they did one of their classic heavy drops.
For real, the most important part of any EDM track was missing 😔

PS: The amount of times you say "wow" perfectly sums up this album. Absolutely ridiculous work from Last Heroes man. It's not all perfect but god damn, creativity is through the roof here!
