- The initial checkout of a Sanyo Turbine fan model EF-362. This is one of the 2 fans obtained from the High Velocity Freakshow trip. It's in very poor condition cosmetically but seems to be in reasonable mechanical condition. As with most Japanese equipment, it's a very respectable unit with good aerodynamics, pushing a decent amount of air with very little noise. I like the fan, it's just a shame it was obtained acquired on bad terms.

The fact that it was able to take such a beating really shows the great quality of Japanese products.
Japanese products are almost always exceptional quality.
Indeed
@@JordanU I look forward to the time when you service this fan and restore it to its original glory.
@@JordanU china is the opposite
I have this same model fan. It lives on my desk. Originally belonged to my late grandmother. It got me through a heat wave when I lived in Michigan when my central air went out. Now I live in Florida and it's still my desk fan in 2025.
Thanks for letting me know.
im glad you like it bro i have 3 of them in my collection but modern of course two od them with the front guard is motor driven and 1 is air driven - I enjoyed the video
It is possible it is from the 80s as sanyo changed their logo to the more modern looking one in 1987.
I think so.
Thanks for letting me know.
@@JordanU Of course.
Thats a nice fan even though it wasn't what you were looking for. Can't wait for you to do a review of the other fan that you pick up
Thanks for letting me know.
Probably a competitive product. I came across the Hitachi version on a morning walk months ago. It got thrown out because the motor locked up melting the holes where the motor screws into and somehow the thermal fuse didn't trip. Also the shaft was bent randomly.
I tend to agree.
Interestingly enough, i see this video in my feed after posting a very similar one that Dave bought. Interesting design. The one Dave has is a Patton. I was wondering if they were built by the same company and rebadged but they are not. The Patton is made in Indiana.
Positives, you got a good fan. I bet one of those screw on generic aftermarket knobs would work on that rotary control.
OK
Hey Jordan, I'm not sure if you've heard of "retrobriting" or not, but it's often used in removing the yellowing on old computers and consoles. It would be interesting to see if this could also work on some of these yellowed fans. I should note, though, that it doesn't remove the brittleness of the plastic.
I've heard of it many times. If it doesn't restore the integrity of the plastic, I have little interest in it. My work focuses mostly on mechanics and functionality rather than cosmetics.
That's the old Sanyo logo which lasted until the late 80s as I have never seen anything newer with that old logo. The newer logo lasted until Sanyo went bust as I have not seen anything new from Sanyo in quite some time. Finding a Sanyo turbine fan is on the list of one fan I would like to get but only if one shows up locally to me and in good condition.
Thanks for letting me know.
Aqui no Brasil teve das marcas Arno Britânia e Mallory etc.
Great fan.
It does seem to be.
I'm thinking that maybe this fan probably needs a brand new head gasket and some new bearings because they could of wore out and to fix this one you probably have to install it up on the ceiling with a lot of metal mounting brackets and fan rod to hold it up there and I also think this fan would look so funny mounted up on the wall and the floor in your living room as long as it doesn't fall and the air will be blowing different ways.Or you can just dangle it loosely from the wires. a little bit of house dust might power on the switch to this fan and fix it too
I don't know what you're talking about.
Hopefully you'll clean some of the dirt off this rotating fan to make it nice again soon bro not bad considering it doesn't have many hours on it
I will remove some of the dirt.
For free I wouldn’t complain, I recommend servicing it and cleaning it
I wouldn't consider 4 hours of my time plus 160 miles on the vehicle anywhere near free.
I like it
Autism has entered the chat
OK
I had a windmer like what's going up The guard was her table by motor
I don't understand.
