YOU ARE FUCKING LIFE SAVER MY GOOD SIR. my mom broke the handle to the glove box cause she didn't realize it was locked. this video saved me so much of hassle. I watched your video twice and i got it open in less than a minute THANK YOU.
I just bought a 2000 Dakota 4x4. The glove box was broken and I fixed it for pennies. I took a split ring off an old key fob and looped it through the hole in the metal bar under the plastic pull handle. It worked but was a bit short. I used a second split ring looped into the first one. Pull the ring and it pops open. Use a black colored ring and nobody will notice. :)
Yo once he said pull the spring down it work for my 01 Chrysler 300m my lock and handle broke in the locked position haven't seen inside the glove box over 3 years lmao thanks
I experienced the same thing with my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Similar glove box style. I used an L shaped tool and it took a couple of tries pulling in that area. It eventually popped open. I'm now looking to buy a door latch replacement. I almost tore the box apart using some large screwdrivers.
I hope you were successful at trying to get the latch open. I point to the spring around 2:29. That spring needs to be pushed down as much as possible. When it is down as far as you can get it, try to pull open the glove box. This can take some finessing which is what those small jewelers screwdrivers were for. Good luck and have a wonderful day where ever you are.
