Like what Simmy mentioned, you need to: 1. Craft the Expert Lure and equip in your off-hand accessory slot. core-keeper.fandom.com/wiki/Expert_Lure 2. This may not have any effect but I do it anyways, which is to throw your fishing lure into the whirlpools. Hope this helps.
During the fight, you can see that when Omoroth emerges from the water and when he spawns his tentacles, the blocks break. However, the break is localized only to where they spawn. As such, as long as the fight doesn't drag on for too long, you will always have some solid ground to maneuver on. If the block breaking mechanic was something along the lines of a hard reset of the arena with each boss fight, then yes a boat will be necessary.
Thanks for this tip. I didnt think of putting ground in the arena. Ive died like 3 times already to him. Will try this method out
Why are the tentacles dying instantly?
I suspect it's a weird interaction with the blocks I placed covering the water since by right, they should not be there lol
If the tentacle spawn on something that isn't water, it will instantly die and replace the blocks it spawned on to water.
He doesn’t spawn for me anytime I try to fish it just gives me items ☹️
you need special lure - you get the crafting materialsd from the bait bench. - if you watch he equipes the lure to the off-hand slot before fishing

Omoroth is so damn annoying
I refuse to play by his rules
As a person who actually nohitted him on hardmode without blocks, I absolutely agree
