I still wish she was here with us - and in a way she is, because she wrote loads of books for us that are still being published for the first time, and so she left us a HUGE legacy! LOVED her - and the world is a much duller place without her...
May the true Queen of Romance continue in our hearts for ever and evermore..her writings will be bitterly missed-
A wonderful lady who brought joy to all her readers.
she's the reason why i started to love reading books as a kid
Handsome man!
Eu amo os romances de Bárbara Cartland.
In public it was her civility and joi de vivre nothing more or less, a memorable woman.
Though this video is quite old now, I have just discovered it. Diana Spencer's sister, Sarah, married a McCorquodale - I wonder if Sir Ian is related to Sarah's husband. Funnily enough, the previous Earl Spencer (Diana's and Sarah's father) married Raine, Lady Dartmouth, and she is the daughter of Barbara Cartland, so that would mean that Sarah was related (by marriage) to the family twice, if her husband is related to Sir Ian. I adore Barbara Cartland for the stance she took on purity. Purity is mocked these days, but Barbara Cartland was right - the effect of a "loose" society has affected children and women in a very damaging way. I wish Dame Barbara were here to speak out still.
The dress he says she wore on Wogan she didn’t; RUclips shows she wore a solider pink with flowers along the neckline
Who was Dame Barbara dress maker's?
