@@Vallonism completely useless in India though. We need higher capacity metro or sub urban trains here. Trams may look look good but are useless in big cities. Ever guessed why there are few trams in China (which has similar population) but huge network of metro rail? Please don't compare the tiny euro cities with India. However, I do agree that a metro track should've been built.
@@Vallonism you should realise we're in era of electric bus that can run long distance. Why trams which requires additional infra and can only take so much load. Metro makes sense but not trams. Europeans have retained their past architecture and we don't need to copy them just for sake of following their footsteps. And I agree they look sexy but still no other justification.
No doubt it's a great piece of infrastructure but sadly it will never be as iconic as Bandra Worli sea link simply because this bridge is lacking it's crown ( cable stayed section ) this was a rare opportunity to give the city a exemplary structure.

Sure, but the bridge being SO long over the sea has got to feel incredible while driving. Imagine being 10km in and you have endless roads at the front and back, and endless sea on the left and right.
@@AnujN definitely it would feel great to drive on it also it would give huge boost to Navi Mumbai with improved connectivity. Iam more excited for Bandra versova sea link which is 10km long and has 3 smaller bridge section like Worli sea link and 1 cable stayed section on the Juhu beach side.

Infra deficit is one of the many reasons that businesses were moving out of Mumbai. Glad that the Fadnavis govt accelerated infra in Mumbai. After 3 years when the infra will be upgraded Mumbai will be attract alot of investments.

This bridge is iconic peice ...but has anyone wondered about the Toll Cost...It is going to be whopping 240 rs.....for a 22 km section really is expensive...

They can correct it with dedicated bus lanes that connects to different corners of city dadar, sewri, worli, Wadala, mahalaxmi, byculla, kurla, BKC, bandra, Nerul, Kharghar, airport, panvel, taloja. This is though no excuse for petu sarkari babus incompetence.
@@At_sk In a maximum city like Bombay busses simply can't handle enough crowds or move the volume of people like metro/sub-urban trains :( Not to mention the other benefits of a train like less pollution and congestion. Even if the bridge costs 50% more for including metro lines, we should have taken that option. Now a new dedicated train bridge would cost several times more and simply won't be feasible and probably wouldn't be built for a long time.

@@jarjarbinks3193 they never intended to build it obviously. Think of toll they can collect forcing people to use private vehicles or taxis.
