I was speechless. Seriously the best performance. This could even win eurovision, of some years ago Eleni hadn't gone to eurovision. I don't mean she is better or worse...i mean that she was first. Though, Chanel is a great artist!!!

10/10 This performance has the best choreography we have ever seen in eurovision. Perfectly executed and singing at the same time. The beat is catchy as hell, she is sexy and charismatic while doing all this. Amazing. Gold 🥇. We haven't seen yet a true Latino track in eurovision. I was half asleep also and frustrated with gliching live stream, but I wanted too see all artists - and they all brought the game on. Chanel was confident and 100% on point with delivering this song - I am loving every second of her performance.
I still need to check out the others Karmen! Looking forward to catching up today! Chanel's confidence was spell-bounding certainly! I was captivated for the whole 3 minutes :-)
I had a surprise favourite of the semi that I'll tell you about in another video, but this was a solid runner up for me. I can see now why the song doesn't have much of a vocal line on it - saving their energy for the choreography! She Slayed in that regard. Her vocals could have been stronger, but honestly I am just impressed she was able to sing at all through some of the movements she was doing. Her energy on stage was just 🔥🔥🔥 I'm really happy she qualified to the finals.

the fact that her vocals are still good when she also dances at the same time, makes it as good as, if not better than, Eleni Foureira when she performs Fuego at Eurovision 2018. out of all Eurovision songs that has similar style to this, it could have the biggest chance to have top-ten result at Eurovision since 2018 (or 2019 if you count Switzerland's "Dirty Dancing").
Chanel injected Europe with 1000 volts of energy in vein and made them dance and have a great time Apart from this, she has wanted to give voice to all tremendous and incredible musical artists (for example "El Rey Leon" "Cats" "Bodiguard" etc etc etc) capable of singing and dancing at the same time (something that for me is incredible and magical because of the immense difficulty it has. And it has achieved it! It has given them the podium they deserve. 🙂

Javier I am buzzing for Semi 2! It's my favourite Semi with my TOP 5 in (but that is before obviously I see the performance, because like you Chanel has massively jumped into my favourites after THAT performance :-) ).
Chanel works in musicals so she's used to sing and dance at the same time. Also funny how you said the choreo reminded you of JLo, 'cause the choreographer has worked with her too. Nobody saw Chanel coming and now she's the dark horse of the competition, Rigoberta or Rayden need to nail it if they want to win (I feel sorry for the Tanxus, but if they flopped the jury at the semis they wont improve on the final)
She is definitely a dark horse and definitely puts pressure on Rigoberta and Rayden tonight! I would love to know why the jury only placed them 5th! Seems a bit harsh! As you said....what can they do to improve that score as it cost them the win!
@@ShanesEurovisionReview I guess staging wasnt a strong point and we couldnt hear that long note one of them do on the bridge of the song. If they improve their camera work they could get more points. It also wasnt that much of a difference since they could've been 2nd with 3 more points. It was a close semi with the juries.
She has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Also comes from musical theater. She had worked very hard for this, had been running on a threadmill for several months wearing a 10 cm heels singing at the same time. She's great. Thnx and regards from Spain.

The way preformance can make song be muchhhh better. Like moldova 2018 they had one of the worst songs and people thought they would be in the bottom but with good staging they ended up in top 10

I wasn't fussed on this in the studio cut, but on stage it comes alive. Having seen this, I wouldn't mind this going to Eurovision. It's kind of like the opposite of Replay or Dance Alone where the studio cut is great and falls flat on stage.
OMG I loved DANCE ALONE....was sooooooo disappointed when I saw it on stage. OMG I also have a strange relationship with REPLAY.....studio loved....first semi performance it was underwhelming....started to get into it in the final....now I love the performance haha.....it was just a very strong year I think. This song was nowhere really for me based on studio, but now its one of my favourites :-)
Oooh someone‘s up early ^_^ her performance was FANTASTIC! not so sure about the vocals? most of the time you couldnt hear her at all bc the backing track was so loud and in parts when it was possible to hear her, they were quite shaky? Of course partially understandable and forgivable due to the amount of dancing.. but that needs some improvement! anyway this would be great at Eurovision.. the song itself was a NQ for me before.. but now.. wow!

The studio cut was boring but it came alive on stage... Shes a good dancer. The choreo and filming was well done. The song is good, not excellent. I dont know how this wouldnt get old if it went to Eurovision though in thr meantime. Then again a lot of people only watch the final and the staging would be more premium i guess... Hmmm

You have to read the lyrics of the song, because the truth is that the Spanglish in which it is sung is not understood; and once you know what she sings, if this girl likes to "drive all the daddies crazy so her don't have monetary problems" then she's perfectly within her rights...

It's a shame that you weren't able to stay awake to watch the show live. But at least that means we get to see your initial first-time opinions live on camera. 😊 Chanel completely stole the show last night, I was always a fan of the song beforehand, though understood that it did get a bit repetitive at times. But that live performance elevated the song to a whole new level, and the dance break was great and also helped to break the song up, so it didn't have that repetitive feel. It is possibly my choice to win after Semi 1, guess we shall see what Semi 2 brings. In regards to the full results being revealed, I am not massively keen on revealing the full results before we have actually had the final. Lithuania gives you the full breakdown of results after each show as well, so it does take some of the excitement away from the final. Interesting to hear you think that the songs that did well might get voters complacent and those that did less well might get people more likely to vote for them as they see they need the votes. I kind of feel it is the other way, now people know Chanel has a chance of winning they will be even more likely to vote for her on Saturday, whilst Blanca and Varry Brava for example did quite middling in the vote, so I feel people would think, "they are not going to win anyway, so voting for them is pointless."

Really?. Chanel?. Tanxugueiras represents the cultural diversity of Spain, using Galician popular music with Celtic roots and introducing allí the languages of Spain into the song. Terra is much more tan an easy disco song, it's culture and support for all Spanish languages. They aren't the tippical sexo symbol, Tanxugueiras are empowered woman. Ailaaa Tanxugueiras !!!

Hi Miguel! I am sorry to hear that there is upset/anger/disappointment with the results. Evidently I am not Spanish and therefore am not emotionally invested in the outcome. All I can say is: 1) I loved Benidorm Fest! Has been a highlight of my December/January :-) 2) My personal favourite going into the final was Rigoberta 3) After the performances I would have happily seen: Rayden, Rigoberta, Tanxugueiras or Chanel win. Any of these songs could have won and that's why Benidorm Fest was EPIC....to have FOUR strong songs competing against each other like that is AMAZING. 4) I know the winner did not go the way you wanted but I genuinely think Chanel was a worthy winner (I am not necessarily saying over the other artists - not at all, but her win was as deserving as if any other of my top 3 won). On a lighter note if you really don't want Chanel....we in the UK would happily take er and your song....we could do with a top 15 finish (which I think this song can easily do). :-)

It's a difficult one! International juries are useful as it reminds you that AFTER Benidorm Fest the winning song then has to go to Eurovision and if an International Jury is marking it low is it because it does not have an international appeal? I know allot of people have commented that they do not care how well this does at Eurovision. They are more interested in Terra being performed in Turin so people learn more about Spain and Spanish culture (a different side to it anyway). I personally have heard this sort of sound before (it's not a new sound for me) and the song is circular and so I can see why juries would not be wowed by it! If it is the song then unfortunately there is nothing the can do about that but if it's the staging...they have time to sort that out certainly!

It also wasnt that much of a difference since they could've been 2nd with 3 more points. It was a close semi with the juries.

I wasn't fussed on this in the studio cut, but on stage it comes alive. Having seen this, I wouldn't mind this going to Eurovision.
It's kind of like the opposite of Replay or Dance Alone where the studio cut is great and falls flat on stage.
OMG I loved DANCE ALONE....was sooooooo disappointed when I saw it on stage. OMG I also have a strange relationship with REPLAY.....studio loved....first semi performance it was underwhelming....started to get into it in the final....now I love the performance haha.....it was just a very strong year I think.
This song was nowhere really for me based on studio, but now its one of my favourites :-)

Oooh someone‘s up early ^_^ her performance was FANTASTIC! not so sure about the vocals? most of the time you couldnt hear her at all bc the backing track was so loud and in parts when it was possible to hear her, they were quite shaky? Of course partially understandable and forgivable due to the amount of dancing.. but that needs some improvement! anyway this would be great at Eurovision.. the song itself was a NQ for me before.. but now.. wow!
Haha I was nearly late to work!!!! Her performance was AWESOME! I did not pick up much issues regarding the vocals due to the backing track...BUT....with that choreo I can forgive any issues if there was some. I am EXACTLY as you.....before the performance a NQ....now....LOVE :-)

Chanel completely stole the show last night, I was always a fan of the song beforehand, though understood that it did get a bit repetitive at times. But that live performance elevated the song to a whole new level, and the dance break was great and also helped to break the song up, so it didn't have that repetitive feel. It is possibly my choice to win after Semi 1, guess we shall see what Semi 2 brings.
In regards to the full results being revealed, I am not massively keen on revealing the full results before we have actually had the final. Lithuania gives you the full breakdown of results after each show as well, so it does take some of the excitement away from the final. Interesting to hear you think that the songs that did well might get voters complacent and those that did less well might get people more likely to vote for them as they see they need the votes. I kind of feel it is the other way, now people know Chanel has a chance of winning they will be even more likely to vote for her on Saturday, whilst Blanca and Varry Brava for example did quite middling in the vote, so I feel people would think, "they are not going to win anyway, so voting for them is pointless."

Hi Miguel! I am sorry to hear that there is upset/anger/disappointment with the results. Evidently I am not Spanish and therefore am not emotionally invested in the outcome. All I can say is:
1) I loved Benidorm Fest! Has been a highlight of my December/January :-)
2) My personal favourite going into the final was Rigoberta
3) After the performances I would have happily seen: Rayden, Rigoberta, Tanxugueiras or Chanel win. Any of these songs could have won and that's why Benidorm Fest was EPIC....to have FOUR strong songs competing against each other like that is AMAZING.
4) I know the winner did not go the way you wanted but I genuinely think Chanel was a worthy winner (I am not necessarily saying over the other artists - not at all, but her win was as deserving as if any other of my top 3 won).
On a lighter note if you really don't want Chanel....we in the UK would happily take er and your song....we could do with a top 15 finish (which I think this song can easily do).

It's a difficult one! International juries are useful as it reminds you that AFTER Benidorm Fest the winning song then has to go to Eurovision and if an International Jury is marking it low is it because it does not have an international appeal?
I know allot of people have commented that they do not care how well this does at Eurovision. They are more interested in Terra being performed in Turin so people learn more about Spain and Spanish culture (a different side to it anyway).
I personally have heard this sort of sound before (it's not a new sound for me) and the song is circular and so I can see why juries would not be wowed by it! If it is the song then unfortunately there is nothing the can do about that but if it's the staging...they have time to sort that out certainly!
