Dude my brother & I both grew up watching The Sword & The Sorcerer alongside the likes of Conan, The Beastmaster, Ridley Scott's Legend, Excalibur, The Black Cauldron, Ladyhawke, Willow & Krull. I still listen to David Whittaker's amazing film soundtrack to this day here on RUclips as well as on Spotify and somebody even modded in Skyrim the movie's iconic Three Bladed Sword. A true blast from the past. Sure today the film might be a bit cheesy but it is still good old fashion never a single dull moment Fantasy adventure fun. Thank you Shout Factory & Scream Factory for re-releasing this awesome cult classic, can't wait to add it to my DVD & Blu-Ray collection.
@@marksoquet2618 I also love Clash of The Titans👍 Jason & The Argonauts, Columbia Pictures' Sinbad trilogy (especially 7th Voyage of Sinbad), The Hobbit animated movie from Rankin-Bass and Red Sonja are also all amazing.
RIP Albert Pyun. Watching this in your memory. All your movies brought fantasy and fun with the right amount of edge. You made childhoods just a little better.
He died? When? Dam. The Sword & The Sorcerer as well as Jean Claude Van Damme's Cyborg were the 2 movies of his that I grew up watching. Sad to hear he passed away. Thoughts, prayers, respect, love & condolences to all his family, friends & colleagues on this tragic loss. RIP Albert Pyun🙏
I can't believe that it turned 40 years Anniversary! It's an iconic sword! I first time I saw it I couldn't take my eyes off it! Is there a replica of the SWORD!?
This was the best fantasy movie of the 80s. Well Excalibur was my favorite but this was 2nd. I saw this in the theater at about 10 and totally loved everything about this movie. Way more than Conan.
This & ‘Dark Crystal’. Back in the good old ‘VHS Age’. Those were the days. Slow, fuzzy, and randomly taped over with snippets of seizure inducing rolling images of bullshit and other white noise. The movies were great though.
So, my dad took me to see Star Wars. However, it was a matinee: this movie was first and then Star Wars. Needless to say, this movie was not for a little kid: heads flying off, blood and gore and the end scene was gory AF. Then it was Star Wars. And that's why I need therapy until this day.
Good trailer, though it may have shown a little too much (A consistent problem with trailers, especially older ones, but still sometimes a problem today.) , but it was a crazy movie all the same. That line near the end "Dungeons, and dragons, serpents and splendor!" Oohhh these sneaky snakes knew what they were doing with that line there. I came here to make a meme out of a portion of this trailer, specifically that silly silly sword, one of the goofiest blades in cinema history.
Yeah I hate trailers that makes me feel I just watched the whole film condensed down into 2 min. Ive skipped watching films sometimes just because I made the mistake of watching their trailers.
0:10- Yeah, the psychedelic 60s. 2:06- He chopped up swords with a 3-bladed sword. What's not to love about THAT? 2:35- The Dungeons & Dragons movie from 2000 was not very good.
LOL I love how these long, old school trailers literally show all the best scenes and dialogue. Why go see the movie, watch the extended trailer instead!
I never expected much about this movie but damn that sword is awesome AND IT CAN SHOOT BLADES hmm wonder thst what inspired the sword from legend of zelda
Yo Scream Factory/Shout Factory, as your upcoming release of The Sword & The Sorcerer is a 4K/Blu-Ray combo and seeing as I don't own a 4K TV any hopes of a Blu-Ray/DVD combo or a Blu-Ray only release of The Sword & The Sorcerer? 🤞🤞
Yeah man pulling dudes hearts out of their chest is what yer after…….. I mean, as a 5 or 6 year old back then, it was the least I’d expect. Yeah I know, that bit wasn’t in the trailer lol.
I just added this to my movie collection today. Did I need to get the 4K UHD version? No. But oddly, it was one of the cheaper choices for physical media for this movie, so I got it. Some more B Movie fun to add to my collection.
I remember watching this advertisement waiting to watch "Clash of the Titans" and the scene where the hero crashes through the window, and breasts were shown, where he kisses the hot female.
Hey all! Does anyone remember a swords and sorcery movie with a female warrior/sorceress who, during her quest, meets a male warrior that wears an eye patch and kind of the comic relief type. Anyone know the movie I am talking about??

Clash of the Titans

Different genre but add the Terrence hill and bud Spencer movies and all those was my entire childhood in movies 👍
You could add Dragonslayer to that list. When that witch starts to lick that stuff off his hands I almost puked. Lol
@@sdmcustoms Sorry but I never saw or heard of those movies before.
Love these 80's Fantasy Movies, takes me right back to my youth.
Brilliant.

RIP Richard Moll. Thanks for the memories ❤
The best of everything that we've loved about this genre in the 1980s.
So much fun to watch.

I am 50 now and loved 80s movies. My favorite is also Excalibur!!! But I have to admit I have never seen this movie. I will now watch it. 😊
I actually have a friend who worked on the make-up and effects of this film.
Awesome!
Just watched this and the Sorcerer still looks cool AF after all this time!
Still the greatest movie weapon of all time along with Krull's Glaive
Nah, it's actually dumb to have a sword with 3 blades. Too heavy, and not needed.
@markmurex6559 it's a fantasy movie my dude. There's wizards & demons in it. A functional 3 blade sword works just fine in that context
@@thegadflygang5381 I know what it is, dude. It's just dumb, bro. I bet you have excuses for bad actors in low-budget movies too.
Currently free to watch on Tubi and it’s really satisfying
Man the eighties is filled with sword and source back in day
I got my preorder in, so ready for this!
When movies were good and I was younger to the kids out there stay kids
ROCKET SWORD, GO!
Probably one of my all-time favorite fantasy flicks.
Man, I remember that crazy 3 bladed sword. This trailer was epic. May try to watch it.
A three bladed sword is wildly impractical.
unless you can make the sword to cum off their blades magically like this one does.
Well that sounds like something the owner of a two-blade sword would say!
@@BoilersRock Check out my four blader. Kidding.
Another childhood classic.

Will definitely have to check this one out!!!

Lucky they weren't sued for the Dungeons & Dragons line.

The blade shooting sword and the sorcerer is one of the best sword fighting movies ever made!
0:10- Yeah, the psychedelic 60s.
2:06- He chopped up swords with a 3-bladed sword. What's not to love about THAT?
2:35- The Dungeons & Dragons movie from 2000 was not very good.
It looks amazing! I must watch it! 😮
Love this movie.
Lol I forgot about this movie😆👍
2:52 For start at 80s Movie very impressive Scene!
One my favs EVER !!!

RIP Machelli
That's one hell of a trailer.
I think this movie ran as a double feature with *_Raiders of the Lost Ark™️_* back in the day. (in Chicagoland, anyway)
2:03 the money shot
Loved this film! I was 8 years old!
ah dark fantasies of the 80s, nothing better.
I never expected much about this movie but damn that sword is awesome AND IT CAN SHOOT BLADES hmm wonder thst what inspired the sword from legend of zelda
I believe legend by Ridley Scott heavily influenced TLOZ, so I’m sure this had an impact as well
i love this movie

This trailer shows that for fantasy to not be tacky in the '80s it had to be a lot more kid-friendly. Kathleen Beller was sure a beauty.
Yeah man pulling dudes hearts out of their chest is what yer after…….. I mean, as a 5 or 6 year old back then, it was the least I’d expect. Yeah I know, that bit wasn’t in the trailer lol.
40 years later, and she STILL looks incredible! Check out her interview on the new 4K release of this if you don’t believe me 😉
Yuck.. ones with slight edge are the only ones not cringe.
She has always been beautiful.
I would not call that kid-friendly with all the nudity lol

Matt Houston: Barbarian
I don't remember this movie 🍿 is it any good ❓
My mom took me and my brother and sister to the diver inn to see this movie will I was little i miss the 80s
Kinda sad how many genres are basically non-existent in modern cinema. Pirates, Fantasy, 2D Animation, Western, Adventure...
Wow, cant believe ive never seen this
That’s tv’s Matt Houston (Lee Horsley) playing Talon.
Someone please tell me this is so bad it's good.
101 films needs to pick this up
I remember watching this advertisement waiting to watch "Clash of the Titans" and the scene where the hero crashes through the window, and breasts were shown, where he kisses the hot female.
This is the PG-rated trailer. There is an R-rated version where she is topless and you see more gore.
Conan, Star Wars and Indiana Jones rolled into one.
Love the 80s hair.
The movie is on the Roku Channel….
Not a bad movie for the budget.
There's nothing like these early eighties fantasy films I remember all of them when I was a kid some of them are actually pretty creepy
This movie is very AI coded.
Pretty cool trailer
A campy classic
CROOOM WEEELLLL!

loved it
The story of this movie is so incredibly dense. Whoever wrote this should have been on strike.
Is there a sequel to this movie!?
Emperor Palpatine reborn! 02:16
Is there anyone here in 2024?
Does this at least have comedy value?
It's an 80's fantasy movie of course it does. They're all cinematic gold.
Is this Elden Ring?
This is the Flash Gordon of fantasy movies....unequalled. I still call my gf 'wench' because of it
They really messed up the trailer.
Based.
Don't think I seen this one. 🤔
100% cheese.
Didn’t a stunt man die taking a dive off a cliff and missing his mark?
There isn't any half naked babes like T. Roberts in this movie😂😂😂😂😂😂
ดีกว่ารักษาเขา
Silence you Black Dog ! 😂
"...and desire" _shows scared looking woman_
Cheapness at its best?
Thank god they don't make them like that anymore. I bet the cast conveniently forget that film when they draft their CVs.
