The scariest time in my life: I used to work in a NICU. I was pregnant after having had a miscarriage so was very nervous my whole pregnancy. He came only 3 weeks early (only two days from technically being full term). He got stuck. (You can’t push the same if you have an epidural). They had to use clamps to get him out. They told me he wasn’t doing well and they’d have to take him in a helicopter to the children’s hospital in the NICU where I worked. I freaked out. I jumped up regardless of a difficult birth and episiotomy and demanded to be let out immediately. The doctor understood and let me. Because I worked there i got to be with him 24/7. (So grateful). I had seen many babies that passed while I worked there so I was really, really scared. He was on a ventilator and not doing well and there’s this medicine called “surfactant”. It’s only given in serious situations and you can only have a max of 3 doses. He had to have 2. I was afraid he wouldn’t make it. (He did and is 17 years old rn and is completely unscathed). It traumatized me so much that I had a completely natural birth with my second because I was afraid he’d get stuck or something bad would happen to him too. Me working as a nurse where I saw so many babies die and then my own baby was there….it was horrifying. I’ve had bad things happen to me personally and I’ve dealt with traumas, but my baby being in critical condition and being afraid I’d lose him trumped all I had ever felt before.

So, I wasn’t a newborn, I got sick when I was 13 and had my 14th birthday during my first ever hospital stay, but I know it traumatized my whole family. Especially my parents, but my younger siblings, too. I spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital while I was a teenager. Many, many surgeries. Many hospitals. Countless doctors(some terrible, many really great. I got very lucky with some of mine. I’m very grateful for my current ones.). I was lucky to be somewhere where I could go to The Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI and The Twin Cities, MN(yes, I went to both of the Twin Cities’ branches.). Best care I ever received. As an 18 year old, because I had a relationship with the doctors there, and a very complicated medical/surgical history, I was able to continue going there. I went in for a laparoscopic surgery and, long story short, it went wrong. I ended up in an induced coma for two weeks, then spent the next 7-8 months there. The entire second semester of my senior year of high school(I did still manage to graduate!). Nurses are the people who keep you alive. I’m still in contact with one of mine from that 7-8 month stay. She undoubtedly helped me survive. I got to help her pick her wedding colors! 😊 I’ve had nurses and nurse practitioners who have cornered doctors and advocated(yelled at them) for me. That’s saved my life more than once. Doctors can be great at what they do, but they’re not there all the time. They go home for the weekend. The nurses are in the trenches with you. They’re the ones that hug you and let you cry or encourage you or hand you gauze so you can mop up the acid leaking from the wound vac that’s covering your still open abdomen in the middle of the night, or all weekend. While you don’t sleep. Until Monday when the doctor finally comes back and helps. The nurses are there with you! I’m so glad you’re son is well! Both of them! Thank you so much for your service as a nurse. You are a hero and your beautiful babies are lucky to have you as a mom. Much love! ❤️🫶

I do remember some years ago, the news reported about how a lot of kids said their Furbies were saying things they didn't teach it to say. Sometimes it was even the child's full name. Other kids reported it working when it was started off or had no batteries in it. Looking back, I'm glad I never had one.

One of my scariest moments was a couple years ago. I had finally learned to ride a bus and it's routes. Well one day a guy boarded and I had a uncomfortable vibe from him. Thankfully I brought my music and turned it off so ppl couldn't talk to me and I pretended not to hear anything. Well the guy is talking to a woman. Apparently they had met before and asked her how she was doing, then said if anyone hurt her feelings, he would kill em. Shortly after boarding the bus, a policeman came and asked him to get off the bus to search him. Turns out he was on parole and had a gun in his pocket which he wasn't supposed to have

I little play desk with dials and spinny things that would turn on and say play with me when it heard someone around. Now image it doing that in the middle of the night when the batteries were running out. Plaaaay wiiiiith meeeee in a deep voice.

The story "my son's brain surgery". The person is lying in the story. 1) 26 pills is too much of a dose for epilepsy. This would have resulted in comma 2) 1500 mg is low quantity. The normal human being with epilepsy takes 2-3 g per day. If he had severe seizures, this could have been solved with higher grams. I also don't think 100mg pills are sold. And I am talking as a person with epilepsy whose daily intake is 1500 mg

When I was fourteen I was on a date with my then boyfriend. My dad had taken me to his trailer in a nearby park because we had been dating for a month or two and my then boyfriend wanted me to meet his mom.
Well, the sun had set and we wanted to go out on a walk through the park. As we were walking we ended up on the shady side of the trailer park (we were talking and hadn’t noticed it.)
Keep in mind this was at the pinnacle of the “creepy clowns stalking people” epidemic in 2021.
Well, as we were walking I had a sinking gut feeling that we were being followed and turned around for a brief second to see a man in a mask standing under a light post.
I did a double take, and stared longer to see that he was wearing a blue jump suit, like something a janitor would wear, and a bloody clown mask. I noticed he was holding a white bat, and my feet moved before my brain could comprehend I was running.
He tore after us, and I screamed for help. I told my then boyfriend not to let go of me, and sure enough he did. He outran me and made it to his house before I did. I ended up having an asthma attack, but he wouldn’t let us go inside because he didn’t want to risk his step dad seeing me and picking on him for having a girlfriend.
He’s lucky the “creepy clown” was just some teenager in a Halloween costume, or we both would’ve died that night.
Needless to say, I broke up with him after that. And I never went to that park again.

I've got some cupboards, high up on one wall, which had sliding glass in them (old fashioned, in the laundry). Well, my dogs sleep in the laundry, so during winter I'd have a small oil heater in the small room for them. One morning, hubby is just walking past and one of the glass sliding sections suddenly shattered and fell out right near him. Figured out that the glass had simply "decayed" from having different temperatures constantly. Heat from the heater, then cold again during the day etc. Maybe if the temperature differential is too great between "outside" and "inside" with sliding glass doors, even a very tiny crack will expand and cause the glass to shatter?

Just last year my mum was in hospital due to pains in her stomach got scans, sent home from a&e, went back next day, got admitted, had emergency gall bladder surgery and we though all was well then she started feeling poorly still in hospital ( she was dehydrated and kept getting starved until they decided what to do) had surgery again because of sepsis then on the table had a cardiac arrest. My mum completely healthy and had no health conditions what so ever so it was really scary but we didn’t get told that my mum had a cardiac arrest and was in ICU until 7 hours later even after calling around 3 times and they said everything is fine but on one of the calls we got told there had been a few compications so we rang where they said she was but apparently she wasn’t there, so where was she? No one knew after many calls we found out she was in icu then my dad got told to go and say his goodbyes he had to bring her belongings through the front door to his 2 children that though she had died thank god that she just needed her things bringing home and she was relatively stable, every time they tried waking her up a few days later her heart rate dropped drastically luckily she is healthy, no heart problems and doing well at home 🤍

I ended up with an ecoli infection after a back surgery & had to have 3 ER surgeries due to it. 2 weeks in the hospital. I know had tubes & cords all over me including 1 in the major vein in my neck. I refused to let my kids come to see me. i didnt want them to see me that way. before the ecoli but after the back surgery i only had 1 tube in me so that was ok for them to see. I then stayed at my aunts for a while since my insurance wouldn't let me stay in the hospital any more but would let a home care nurse gone see me everyday. I was sent home with tubes in my arm to inject meds into my arm everyday and my wounds cleaned. After all the tubes we pretty much taken out and could be covered with long sleeves I let them come spend time with me. That 1st visit was so emotional. They yelled at me because they thought they were never going to see me again. I felt so guilty and wondered if I did the right thing. I felt as if I was really bad off like I would lose my life bad off the doctors would have suggested the family to come to pay their last respects and would have allowed it then of course but felt I was doing the right thing for them to not have nightmares thinking I was worse off than I really was even if it was as bad as it was. Did I do the right thing?

I can't say I've had the scariest moment in my life since I'm just 15
But there have been some times when I was too scared to think
My leg accident which honestly I don't remember much but for a 5yo felt like my life almost ended as it a collision between our and that guy's bikes
My uncle's multiple drunk moments smashing things here and there
And when once during a very stormy night a lady suddenly barged into our house with her head bleeding, the whole surrounding was dark because there was no current and I thought a ghost has come

Furbies are pure evil lol. I didn't have one as a kid but won one in an Xmas gift giveaway at a call center I worked at. Gifts were random stuff wrapped and whanot
Anyways it wouldn't shut up and I didn't have the right screwdriver for the battery compartment to take them out.
I told it to shut the F up! And it said please don't swear clear as day! My cousin was there too! I said it again and got it on video and showed everyone at work when they didn't believe me!
I got rid of it shoved it in the dumpster
About week later I saw one just like it at Goodwill and it kept saying please dont swear in a very low dying battery!
sounding voice! Others heard it too! I was like nope and got out of there!
2 years later my friend and I were talking about Furbies when she showed me a video of one she bought at Goodwill and I swear it was the same one!

How are you doing my dear sweet friend? How are you feeling? In the very first story, I would sue because they were all just so negligent and reckless. How could a routine surgery lead to death? In the second story, I would be completely triggered around any frozen too. In the third story, I am very thankful to hear that the son is now seizure-free and even more that he's still living. In the fourth story, that's so sad that their dad was kidnapped and even worse was the fact that his life was cut short by some idiotic dumb morons. In the fifth story, their 3 year old son is fighting who is going to kick leukemia's booty. You said scary five times!! I love you so much!! Stay safe!!

the scariest part of my life so far is probably when i was 8, me and my dad would always go bike riding on a trail near his house every time i saw him. one day, we were on a trail with a bridge leading to parallel trail and a ditch between the two. he said something, i didn't hear what while pointing across the bridge to the other trail. i asked him to repeat what he said but again, i didnt understand. i didn't wanna be a bother, so i got on the other trail and we were riding together but on different trails. eventually, i stopped being able to see him through the small trees between us. i started crying and yelling for him, but there was no response. so i turned around, crossed the bridge, and followed his trail. it led to a sidewalk next to the community pool and a public road, but no dad to be seen. so i started crying again and tried waving someone down. a truck on stopped and parked on the other side of the road and an old man got out and started walking towards me. just as he got halfway across the road, my dad came up from behind me on his bike and started cursing him out yelling things like "what the f is wrong with you?" i thought he was just trying to help me but now i understand that if my dad wasn't there, who knows where i could've ended up.
