  • This documentary tells the story of London's largest Latin American community in Elephant and Castle, an area currently facing a regeneration initiative heralded as one of Europe's most expensive regenerations. The documentary explores how the regeneration is affecting the Latin American community and highlights the history and importance of this community for the area and for other Latin Americans in London.
    Hear testimonies from retailers and see the vibrant life that Latin Americans have brought to the area through their food, music, dances and culture.

    Born an raised in South London I saw this community grow as a kid.. There was not many at all I was usually the only colombian/latin kid in school until early 90's. Elephant castle will always be in my heart as a 12 year old kid who used to go there to feel closer to my culture despite being born in foriegn land.

      Yeah but Colombians weren't originally from England or have strong communities like you do in USA and Canada(I think)in fact I didn't even know Hispanic people until 10 hrs ago when I really paid attention to American films,TV shows and programmes and that's when I first saw Hispanic people I didn't even think that England even have a Hispanic community until now

    but who do they support when England plays argentina at cricket?

    • @tonyclifton265
      @tonyclifton265 Год назад

      @MD it was a reference to the famous "norman tebbit cricket test" to detect national allegiance in immigrants. i heard that argentines are untrustworthy though and dont stick to contracts, so maybe that's why they're unpopular..

      Immigrant migration was always good for hard working peoples. Muslim migration has changed that perception perhaps for a very very long time. If only EU had brought in hard working latin americans especially mexicans, venezuelans, some hondurans brasilians etc. Be careful with salvadorians....we all work very hard here in the US, i wake up at 4.30 in the morning and get home at 5.30 pm working only 9 hours but we are willing to sacrifice those extra hours for our families and a little bit of a better life. Thank you.
