    There is something very special about Jamaicans, and no one is talking about it. And it is not only in sports. That island has produced world leaders in politics, theology, science, and many others. Although it is still colonized by Great Britain, that island and its people are a gift to the world. Yet, it is totally ignored. I think that it is brazen and intentional, but dominant society (white folks) could not care less! Once I visited the Cayman Islands and the same was true there. These people are wonderful human beings, but totally enslaved and colonized! How sad!!!

      One correction Al, Jamaica 🇯🇲 gained independence from Great Britain in 1962. This year we’re celebrating 60 years of independence, therefore we’re not still colonized by the British. We are still apart of the British Commonwealth, but not a colony. One love from NY.

Jamaica has to answer to Great Britain for virtually everything! Quit being a fool. Jamaica is not truly independent. I have been there several times and I was disgusted by the subservient level that it’s leaders accept in order to call themselves “independent.” It sounds like you are happy with the “arrangement “ there.

So for you sprinters coming to the USA for the first time here's what you need to do...Bring a fried or cook dumpling in your carry on and right before you step off the plane take 2 big bites and you won't be affected. “Rapid rise” of JA’can sprinting? Oh please. JA has always been producing top world class sprinters for more than 50 years- most notably, Don Quarrie in the early 70s who won gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m at the 76’ Olympics. There are many other top sprinters from JA, Merlene Ottey, Grace Jackson & others, whose careers were eclipsed by the rampant doping in track and field in the 80s and 90s. Today JA’can athletes are positioned where they should have been placed before, and that is at the TOP.

    • @asearchie
      @asearchie 2 года назад +13

      50 years? Jamaica first competed in the Olympics in 1948 when Arthur Wint won the island's first gold medal in the 400 m. In 1952 Wint again struck gold as a member of the 4x400 team. George Rhoden who was also on the 4x400 team won gold in the 100m while a third member, Herb McKinley won silver in the 200m. Wint also won a silver in the 800m. The fourth member of the 4x400 team, Leslue Laing was the only one that did not win a medal in an individual event. 1952 to 2022 is 70 years!

      @MarciaSantos-ox1fk 2 года назад

      @Marcus Middleton Well your comprehension of what he meant is incorrect. He said “once again”, which implies that there was a period when JA’can sprinters weren’t as dominant. This, as we know, is incorrect.

      @MarciaSantos-ox1fk 2 года назад +3

      @Marcus Middleton You’d be surprised to learn how many people don’t know this. Some Americans, including this commentator, appear to believe that the JA’can sprint dominance started with Bolt 😒 And as I said at the outset, in response to the ignorant comment in the video, there’s no sudden rapid rise of JA’s sprint dominance. We’ve been dominant for a long time now.
