Re Werner, Sonny has missed some great chances this season too. Why don't Spurs use a pysche coach to get Werner to be calm and put those chances away. .?
Yesterday it was lovely to see Ben & Sim so happy at Old Trafford, Darren not growling at the monitor, yerself being yer brilliant self as host and a fantastic win.
Bruno's bottom lip was out 😂 We were immense yesterday, absolute quality all round the pitch, completely shut Utd out of everything. The only downside was that everyone was quick to slate Utd rather than praise the mighty Spurs. Let's keep it going COYS
I honestly think with Timo Werner, there is an avalanche of goals in him. He makes me think of a line in the Tom Selleck movie 'Mr Baseball' - "my whole life I just wanted to hit the ball, now all of a sudden I'm trying not to miss".
Agree the team confidence is rising which rubs off and with one to one coaching could turnaround. However, I wouldn’t hope and move Bergvall to 2nd choice.
As a former striker myself, he Timo just has to keep things simple. Stay upfront. Don’t waste energy coming back into midfield. Release the ball early, and shoot when in range.
The most remarkable thing about Micky's assist was after busting his gut for most of the pitch, to then kick clear in the box, give himself time and space, he was still able to accelerate onto the ball and with precision execute the perfect cross. That is rare talent.
Good show Barnaby, we are going to need Werner whether or not the moaners like it, Ange's system as we've seen is energy sapping over the course of a season, he's still a decent player who can make a significant contribution even if he's not scoring goals, Mikey Moore's day will come eventually and Sonny can't play every game. We should keep giving him the ball in behind defenders for the cutbacks. Deki has found his place and he can get better, he can keep the ball like Moussa Dembele, he can wrongfoot defenders like Chris Waddle did and opponents bounce off him like they did with Graham Roberts, not a bad combination of attributes to have.
Timo is a good player he will do what Brennan has done and silence the simpleton critics. Players and fans need to get behind Timo and build his confidence.
You can see the system works , Werner always gets chances in the exact opposite end of the box Johnson does and they both make that exact same back post run. Werner would have scored a goal similar to Johnson’s if mazaroui didn’t clear it. If you play Ange way you will get lots of chances
Werner had a really good game, unfortunately he can't finish, i always thought when we played Chelsea that if Werner was playing id be happy because i knew he wasn't going to score😂, im far from anti Werner, he's a great squad player who causes opposition loads of problems
Seeing Udogie supporting driving in midfield helps the press and gives Werner space. Quid pro quo Werner did some great cover back runs. Going forward he gave the RB a roasting. We get werner scoring and we will rock
Nice show Barnaby. The sending off was certainly justified. The challenge was reckless because it was out of control. Because the lunge was deliberate, and definitely made after the slip, and the way Madison fell could have meant a serious injury. If that had been the case, no complaints/moaning could have even been entertained. Martinez has no excuse whatsoever. Also I completely agree with you about Timo. He has tons of energy, he works tirelessly, he makes space and is a threat that our opponents can't ignore. I think it is only a matter of time until he scores. He wouldn't be on the pitch if Ange didn't value his contribution and commitment. I think he needs to hit the ball as hard as he can on target if he is shooting; that way any rebounds if he doesn't score, could fall to him or his teammates. COYS.
I was annoyed when you called out Ange over the Coventry game, only because I'm annoyed at others for calling him out for losing against arse. As you can guess i know Ange and believe he can bring us success, keep up the good work sport. 🇦🇺 COYS
Unfortunately some of the big podcasts displayed their inner melt. I have been to every game and we are getting it together. Hands up the teams looking forward to playing Spurs.
@@paulwalter2715 i want the people who don't believe in him to give him a chance, i fully trust what he can do having watched his career. Every new coach deserves 3 seasons to get the players they want, especially when you can see the progress. COYS 👍
Timo isnt there to score goals. I know that sounds crazy, but I dont think thats the reason why Ange wanted him back. Hes there because he's a capable presser from the front who also is one of the fastest players in any league. Pair him with a burner like Johnson and youve got a matchup nightmare for most teams
You were not the only one to scratch your head at Ange's team selection for the Coventry match. It was clear to me we'd struggle to put two passes together as soon as I saw the team sheet. Cup games are something we really should be taking more seriously if we are going to finally win a trophy this season, and that's why I'm half dreading to see the team sheet for next Thursday at Ferencvaros.
Excellent performance all round. My fear and I am sure the team will prove it unfounded, is that they get too confident when playing weaker teams and play without urgency. The key to playing Ange's way is to play with intensity. COYS!
Werners speed is good outlet when the opposition are pressing high up. It's not just that his shooting is off, his passing in goal-scoring situations is poor too. Can this problem be remedied or is is too ingrained.? If it can - what a player would be. Only Ange can decide.
we finally had our “eureka” moment… we felt that chelsea was an important moment, and it was. it was the beginning of the real process of change. we’ve now had our tough lessons and have finally got over our confidence issues. our “Ange” moment was going down in the first minute to Brentford. COYS

I think they were given a calm down call to preserve them selves for the next game. Not wanting to risk injury or fatigue. I felt the same way tho wish they'd have really punished them but it sets us up good for the next game.
A lot of good points Barnaby If Timo Werner is given the chance he could be an outstanding player to have in the squad . Moore needs to be eased into the matches , he looks like he's up to it but needs to accustomed to the PL level . Fernandes meant to do that he was frustrated and angry , he such a cynical player . If someone had done that to him he would still be rolling around now .

I think that huge win could be Brighten. Chelsea could have done it if thyet sustained their intensity. Brighten will not change their approach no matter how far behind they are.
I’d say it’s the most dangerous game of the season so far , arsenal newcastle and united didn’t want to go toe to toe but Brighton will. It’ll be a lot of goals for sure

With majority shareholder Joe Lewis placing his shares in the club into a trust and making it abundantly clear that he is no longer prepared to put much-needed extra finance into Spurs, Levy is left with no choice but to seek out future investment. I'm in little doubt that whoever steps in to buy up minority shares in Spurs will eventually make a move for a complete takeover of the club. The big question is who and when?

Timo werner played well, take away his finishing and assisting? A 3 legged whippet could of filled in for werner then? Praising him for just being able to run is reaching. He's shit and needs to be sent back to Leipzig. Imagine if we had Eze/Neto/Gyokeres in those positions? we would be talking about a 0-6 mauling. Levy hasn't backed Ange at all
Werner? ok, how long as he been with Spurs? how much longer do we wait? I never feel good when Ange puts him in there. Kulu has always been good! He's now getting even better and so is Solanke! So excited about what is coming!!! COYS!!!
I watched the game twice and Timo Werner is just not good enough for this team. His touch often gave the ball away, his passes in key moments were often off the mark, his decision making on the ball was abysmal and he singlehandedly undermined the team’s dominance a number of times and gave United key chances on the counter. With rose tinted glasses you can say he’s alright and he stretches the pitch well, but whether it’s lack of confidence or recent playtime with the team he stuck out like a sore thumb in our lineup last night. I’m hoping he can up his level for this season and learn the system better, but besides a few runs in on goal yesterday he was really poor.
Just because Timo's quick doesn't mean he performed well. His passing was wayward, he couldn't find anyone. Timo's finishing is always poor he's only been good at Leipzig. If Timo was an animal in this state you would have put him down by now! As Claude from Arsenal fan TV once said "It's time, to go!"
