oh my finally someone who actually explains how to do the flip properly with nice examples I love you today i learnt backflip so i started learning front half but no one explained it to me and I started rotating before the flip and didn't do anything I will try to do it tommorow deffo a subscribe
When you first try doing barani, I find it helps to use your arms to spin you around, try putting your left arm across your body and right arm out to the side (or vice versa)
this is so late but if it helps, swing your arms like a baseball bat. i can’t do a front 180 but i can do a front full bc i swing my arms and hold them to my chest
ah I'm glad you like them. just posted my latest about 2 days ago. my ankle is still a little weak but its feeling good enough to do several things. i'm about 2 and 1/2 months from the initial injury. thanks for watching and stick around for new ones!
The only problem I see is that your round-off practices on the trampoline are not the same twisting direction as your barani. This could be confusing for a beginner. I understand that you twist to the left (in general) and therefore you do a left round-off, but a left-handed round-off is, in reality, a right-twisting movement. So if someone wants to practice a left-twisting barani, they should be imitating it by doing a right-handed round-off.
Spot on , and the reason for that is, we start to learn play skills at a very early age. Simple rolling on the floor sideways, forwards & backwards, progress to early cartwheel attempts. This is the point when the decision has been made and most of us get it wrong, consider a left twister, early attempts at cartwheel would be sideways with the left hand down first. Transpose that forward and the error is obvious , you are then turning in the opposite direction to your sideways cartwheel. Hope this helps particularly parkour guys, tis easier to link skills going in a circular motion.
Omg thank you sooooo much. I saw a girl I know do this at an indoor trampoline park and everyone was amazed. I decided to try and learn it myself. I looked at lots of videos but only ur one helped. U have gained a sub :)
feeling pretty good now, so i'm getting back into my tutorials. also the gym we were building is done, up and running so i have a bit more free time :) thanks for asking
Hey I can do front 180 and 360, I used to be able to do back 180 and sometimes 360 but now I have a disturbing issue : I don't know on what side I should twist when doing backflips, and though a friend of mine told me I was twisting towards my right shoulder when doing a backflip 180, I'm afraid of doing it in a backflip 360. I also turn towards my right shoulder when doing twisted frontflips. So is it normal to twist in the same direction when doing fronts and backs ?
haha, truthfully, i miss coaching you girls. it was never a dull day. give zac a break though. he is a good guy and you can't compare him to me and not like him. its just not fair. after all everyone coaches different. but i know he tries to do his best. i may come to visit soon.
Thank you for this tutorial i learned very quickly. I have a question though. How do i stay in place. Everytime I move to the other side of the trampoline. Thank you
+Joseph Nolan no matter which way you move, it means you are either leaning in that direction when you take off or you throw you're flip a little off center. just try to get a video of you doing it and watch it in slow motion (if possible). this will help you see what i'm talking about
Hey, I must say I'm loving your tutorials so far! They are very informative but are concise and avoid unnecessary tangents :) Also the way you address common mistakes is very helpful (for example I was attempting to twist right from the start of the flip) and really adds to the instructive value. Thanks again and keep up the great work. (ps from others' comments I take it you broke your ankle, thats rough :/. I hope you recover soon!)
Hey man I actually really like your videos... One note on this video though: you are a LEFT twister but when you do a left hand down first roundoff your body is actually twisting RIGHT... thats one of the biggest problems athletes have when learning to twist because for some reason when you are upside down everything feels backwards. When you do it for real you end up twisting your correct way but I hate when kids tell me they learned a front flip half by themselves because 9 times out of 10 they have learned it the wrong way and as soon as they want to learn a full it screws them up and they have to relearn a barani... At the end of the day I think its a legitimate technique to think roundoff in the air as long as it is the correct roundoff. left hand down first= RIGHT twist, right hand down first= LEFT twist. Keep up the great videos! Cheers Josh
yeah, its too late to go back and change that now. i understand that for a left leading cartwheel, the chest opens initially to the right, but it doesn't feel natural to twist right. Try doing a cartwheel step-in and then without leaving the floor, attempt to twist your upper body to the right. Personally this feels completely wrong to me. I have know people who prefer that, but you could go both ways. just watch some olympic floor routines and pay attention to the cartwheel lead, and the rotation direction. to me: left leading cartwheel = counter clock-wise (left) twist right leading carwheel = clock-wise (right) twist thanks for watching and i always appreciate people's insight. Keep on bouncing! -Julio
Thanks so much for the help! I didn't expect u to respons so quickly. Thanks man your tips always help. I will be aggressive on bounces and stay in center. Thx so much dude! Keep up making the awesome tutorials.! helped 10k people!
+Purple Orca glad to hear it man! i go back and forth between adobe premiere and after effects. premiere for the layout of the video and after effects for all the titles and transitions
You shouldn't use your roundoff to learn a front half since you're supposed to twist the opposite direction. Left roundoff (right hand goes first!!) means you should do a right front half, full and so on
3:22 that is the drill that I used, and the only one I used to get mine... for me I don’t tuck, I basically do a half layout but this video helped with really breaking down the logistics!
Oh yeah!))) My barani looks like your incorrect in the right side of video))) Thanks a lot, I will try all that you say in video =) Thank you for help with all these movements)) I'll show you how I do it usually, and then, how I'll improve my technique, using your tips! =) Very nice tutorial! Your videos looks better and better))) I think, the next tutorial will the progression of this - front full, or a back half) Thank you again! ;) You are a great man)))
well thats unfortunate, but as long as you are doing what you really love and enjoy, then its all good! i've moved on to another step of my life. a few friends and i built a new gym for freestyle acrobatics and we are trying to make it a big hit! so far its been a blast. best of luck to you kelly and i hope you get many more skills under your belt ;)
Can you do a Barani with staight legs and knees and feet together? I don't know if it is possible, but I coach gymnastics and open bent legs drives me insane.
@allen edwards i know, and there are a lot of things i would like to go back and change but it is what it is... its how i was taught and it makes sense. besides that, i feel there aren't many drills besides that lay on your back and twist one.
Hey I've been trying to do a front half for like a couple of months now. I'm getting really frustrated on why I can't do it and I keep going backwards when I try to do a front half or a sideflip on a trampoline. What am I doing wrong??
brisky028 well its difficult to know exactly what you are doing. if i could see a video, i could tell you what to do to fix your technique. maybe loose hips on take off, or you are bring your legs in too much before landing. it could be a number of things but its too hard to say without seeing it
this is sort of a difficult thing to answer. if you don't care about floor tumbling, then it doesn't matter too much. but if and when you start learning full twists, you will get lost and have lots of trouble learning it. left foot in front cartwheel = twisting to your left side. or you could just try always twisting to the comfortable side but it does complicate things
Well, I’ve been out of the Tramp tutorial game for over 5 years now sadly. Started as a means to improve my video production skills. Got into chasing the Hollywood dream, got my foot in the door, and then COVID hit lol. Boohoo me haha. Thanks for watching man. Glad these are still useful to some people
Hi, i'm a big fan, and I've only recently been exposed to the world of trampoline tricks, but i have all of the basics down. I was just wondering if you could create a video or share some tips on how to reach your maximum height when jumping on a trampoline, to help me perform some of these tricks. I have exercised much for this and people much smaller than me manage to jump higher than me. I was just wondering if there's any advice you have for me. Thanks
a lot of it is proper technique and good timing as well as a decent understanding of how the trampoline works.but it seems a good idea. i've been to busy to create new content as of late, but i will get around to it. this is a great idea for a video. for now. watch olympic trampolining and pay close attention to the athletes
well its not a gymnastics place but yes we opened a new gym. its mainly for parkour and freerunning but we have a trampoline and spring floor. its called Firestorm Freerunning and Acrobatics
THANK YOU soooo much I was doing the wrong version that you displayed and I could never land it cus my friend was trying to teach but after this I could do it almost immediately!! THANK YOU again keep up the vids!!
thats the way i see it. sometimes people get confused with saying left or right. so if counter-clockwise makes it simpler to understand, then think of it that way. CCW = left CW = right
i seem to stop twisting after my barani, it feels like i can barely ever get fulls, and i fear i wont be able to get anything more then a full? how do u keep twisting?
@roblox Gameplay, well thats personal preference. i believe in slomo, you can better understand the proper timing of things. but also, this video is old and in need of a reboot. thanks for your input
i'm not entirely sure what you mean by the arial. you might just be forgetting the set and flip first part. if you turn right away, you lose most of your control over the skill
@skv1991 Ah I'm glad this will help! I'd like to see you're progression from your old technique. The next video will most likely be front layouts. It is almost pointless to learn full twisting until you can do a good layout. It's not impossible to full twist in a tuck but it is definitely tricky and harder to control. But after layouts definitely fulls
well i like to do open tucks, because it becomes easier to rotate, but a true barani should be done with a straight body. i didn't cover layouts/straight flips because i don't think many people outside of gymnastics care for them too much [because of difficulty]
Wait I already know how to do back fulls and halves and stuff and was looking to learn a front half (trampoline of course) and I'm better at a right cartwheel but I've always twisted to my left? So is that wrong or is that okay 0.0
you can ignore that step if it confuses you. it helps some people but some coaches say its not a good way to teach it. i go back and forth depending on the person i'm teaching. use the side that feels most comfortable/natural for you
I have a trampoline that does not have as much bounce as a squared trampoline forcing me to do early twists and if I try to do the correct looking front 180 I end up not having enough room to land properly.
its going to take a long time. it took me three months of practice to understand how to twist in my flips. keep trying and stay consitent. it will come
nice tutorial! just one thing which disturbes me is that at 3``38 you do the barani drills twisting to the right however for all the others exercices you twist to the left!! it just confused me...
yes, i am aware of this. i personally never used this method when i learned the skill but i have seen some people do it that way. its just too confusing. and its too much trouble to fix and reupload a new video so... oops.
I don’t know why but my flip is perfect but I landed a little to the side or crash into the net, I even smashed my face in the corner once, please someone reply on how to fix that. I would appreciate it. 😃👍
its gonna be tough to do the bigger tricks on that kind of trampoline. but its not impossible. really be aggressive on your bounces and keep your body tight. you may be able to get a little higher, but be careful no to fly off the tramp. i know its tough but you always want to stay center position.
With the barani confusion you have it the wrong way around, left foot start means twisting to the right, right foot start is twisting to the left. What Direction Am I Twisting? - George Hery
as i was taught in gymnastics... if you round off with your left leg leading, your body is twisting counter clock-wise, therefor you must twist the same way. some people do switch it and i don't know if it applies the same in strictly trampolining. But... this causes a lot of high torsion on your back, knees, and ankles in tumbling, so i teach it that way. but whatever floats your boat. twisting upside down is tricky enough as it is. do whatever is comfortable. barani confusion is still confusing. do whatever works for you. the cartwheel thing just complicates it
its an aussie bed trampoline. lots of power, super awesome! but super expensive :( I believe this size is around 5 foot by 10 foot. not 100% sure. the full size competitive trampolines have a 7X14 foot bed they run at about $5000
Yeah I tried to front half Monday. Broke my tibia and fibula. Had my surgery yesterday morning. Don’t get over confident, be safe everyone. Edit: I also indeed turned before flipped. That was my mistake.
I'm not going their anymore until September maybe maybe not I'm going to kidnastics now on Mondays because of cheer. We do really miss u Julio tho cuz we weren't ever really doing anything now at kidnastics I got my back handspring by myself again and my roundoff back handspring too! So ya zac just didn't know how to spot anyone of us! I was getting worse but now I'm back to my normal self
You end up with a very good barani, but you show a drill I would absolutely never use. That roundoff in the air will teach a kid to twist opposite to his/her natural direction about 7 out of 10 times. I see a lot of boy's coaches do that in our gym. Then the kid tries showing off his new front full, and damn, wouldn't you know I see stomach twice.
+David Ramseyer well i'm teaching this skill in terms of gymnastics form. which is often the most effecient way to do flips and twists. its a lot harder to progress to the bigger tricks without a solid foundation of the simpler ones
i'm not sure if that method works for everyone and i prefer the roundoff method. just remember to keep it to one side. if you would full twist to the left, then pull your half to the left side.
NoPainNoJustice Ok so today I made HUGE progress with my barani, but I twist to the right, and the coach had me try a front half and I twist to the left HA! If I try even to twist to the right even for a half-out (face off) I can't... I can't twist to the right for anything but my barani, it's the weirdest thing!
i think the biggest factor in correcting this would be to focus on what you feel and not what you see. you're eyes can throw off your body entirely, specially if you are only focused on getting back to the ground. feel your motions and analyze them after every attempt. its the best way to find out whats happening and how to fix it. barani confusing is a pain in the ass to correct once you've started. good luck and let me know if you made any progress
ahahaha my friend told me sorry he had his foot in the shot. i told him i thought about editing it out but changed my mind. it wasn't worth the effort. so the sneaky sock remained...
look guys don't listen to tutorials the best way is to learn by yourself the only thing you need to do is learn how to rotate i been watching and watching the thing i do is real do a front no tuck and try to spin don't do anything weired with your arms just do the thing i told you an do it and u will proboblly land it if this dosent work sorry but if it did leave a reply
I have been trying to learn this for a long time and finally after I found this video I can finally do the front 180!!
Thank you so much
oh my finally someone who actually explains how to do the flip properly with nice examples I love you today i learnt backflip so i started learning front half but no one explained it to me and I started rotating before the flip and didn't do anything I will try to do it tommorow deffo a subscribe
I am trying to learn how to do this trick, but whenever I try to, my head and upper body just lean to my left side, and I get absolutely no spin.
When you first try doing barani, I find it helps to use your arms to spin you around, try putting your left arm across your body and right arm out to the side (or vice versa)
I agree. The key to this is to really use your arms to pull and twist you. I like to think of it as “driving” your upper body around.
Do a normal front flip but look at the flor the enter time
I learned it in liek 5 minite
this is so late but if it helps, swing your arms like a baseball bat. i can’t do a front 180 but i can do a front full bc i swing my arms and hold them to my chest
Took me literally 3 mins to learn a front half by watching this tutorial!
Most people don't have super tramps in their backyard
Don’t need one
And some people dont have a backyard ._.
I do
I learned backflip 360 on my noob tramp in my backyard
I learned on grass, you don’t need one
ah I'm glad you like them. just posted my latest about 2 days ago. my ankle is still a little weak but its feeling good enough to do several things. i'm about 2 and 1/2 months from the initial injury.

hei i really liked what you said at beginning with making a side shorter. is it the same principle with the 360 diverolls?
This is the first flip tutorial that actually helped

its hard to get high on my trampoline its a circle one. any advice where to stand/jump from
Ok thanks I will and should I have a tight tuck or like more open?
i do my cartwheel with my right foot but I its very hard for me to twist to the right. any tips
Hardly seen such an informative tutorial!
thanks! check out some of my other tutorials. the presentation has changed and i'm always looking for opinions to make them better!

Nice to see a youtuber that responds on comments:)
Julio I remember before I stopped gymnastics at scats that coach zack said u opened a gymnastics place in Santa Ana?
this video helped me out so much ive been trying to learn this for months

this is sort of a difficult thing to answer. if you don't care about floor tumbling, then it doesn't matter too much. but if and when you start learning full twists, you will get lost and have lots of trouble learning it. left foot in front cartwheel = twisting to your left side.

NoPainNoJustice this is a amazing vidio
NoPainNoJustice I
Any tips?
When ever I try to land it I end up doing a Arial is that a step from a front flip or is it a bad habit?
i'm not entirely sure what you mean by the arial. you might just be forgetting the set and flip first part. if you turn right away, you lose most of your control over the skill
You have to tuck THAN turn not all at the same time
+NoPainNoJustice an aerial is a gymnastics move it's basically a no handed cartwheel hope I helped😃.
Your disclaimer really dis motivated me. Thanks a lot!
This tutorial is so helpful I just learned how to do! It still needs work but I can do it! Thanks
well i like to do open tucks, because it becomes easier to rotate, but a true barani should be done with a straight body. i didn't cover layouts/straight flips because i don't think many people outside of gymnastics care for them too much [because of difficulty]
shoes, no shoes, whats the difference???
Wait I already know how to do back fulls and halves and stuff and was looking to learn a front half (trampoline of course) and I'm better at a right cartwheel but I've always twisted to my left? So is that wrong or is that okay 0.0
you can ignore that step if it confuses you. it helps some people but some coaches say its not a good way to teach it. i go back and forth depending on the person i'm teaching. use the side that feels most comfortable/natural for you
Okay thank you! :)
I have a trampoline that does not have as much bounce as a squared trampoline forcing me to do early twists and if I try to do the correct looking front 180 I end up not having enough room to land properly.
Kareem Boakye yeah that makes it really tough. you're gonna just have to compensate with a little bit of cheating/early twisting
its going to take a long time. it took me three months of practice to understand how to twist in my flips. keep trying and stay consitent. it will come
Hi I have a problem with these and backflips I do all the steps right but I can't land on my feet but I can land on my knees perfectly
yeah i do my best to get back to anyone and everyone! sometimes i do it on my phone though and later realize that it never sends the message :/
Tbh, I can do one of these and land it. But the weird thing is... I CANT LAND A FRONT FLIP!
It's because a front flip is a blind landing and a half is a spotted landing
yup, pretty much what you said here
Delanie Farmer if ur trying to land a front flip try tucking by your ankles and use ur perifural vision to see the ground before u flip
I can land double back but not a front flip 100% of the time
ps Fifa huh. I can almost do a double front and can't backflip
thank u so much awsome and clear instructions, also liked the science behind it, liked and subscribed
thats gonna be the next tutorial. i've been continually delayed because of other priorities, but its coming and it should be good!
well depending on what your discipline is... it probably doesn't matter. snowboarder? go crazy man. you have to learn both ways either way right?
Nice, you probably just understand your body more than you think. right on man!
what editing program do you use ?
what if i do my front halfs frontside, and my corks and twist backside rotation :S
nice tutorial!
just one thing which disturbes me is that at 3``38 you do the barani drills twisting to the right however for all the others exercices you twist to the left!! it just confused me...
yes, i am aware of this. i personally never used this method when i learned the skill but i have seen some people do it that way. its just too confusing. and its too much trouble to fix and reupload a new video so... oops.
I don’t know why but my flip is perfect but I landed a little to the side or crash into the net, I even smashed my face in the corner once, please someone reply on how to fix that. I would appreciate it. 😃👍
Julio can I ask you somthing
Hows your ankle
The timing of my barani is really good
One day, I just did one.. Now I have them down. I don't even know how...
Does anyone know how to spin more efficiently doing the 180 part, it would really help😊
its gonna be tough to do the bigger tricks on that kind of trampoline. but its not impossible. really be aggressive on your bounces and keep your body tight. you may be able to get a little higher, but be careful no to fly off the tramp. i know its tough but you always want to stay center position.
But... this causes a lot of high torsion on your back, knees, and ankles in tumbling, so i teach it that way. but whatever floats your boat. twisting upside down is tricky enough as it is. do whatever is comfortable. barani confusion is still confusing. do whatever works for you. the cartwheel thing just complicates it
I loved the teaching moment wiht the hammer! Absolutely brilliant!
U are the man! i did it in like 4 tries! Thank you!
its an aussie bed trampoline. lots of power, super awesome! but super expensive :(
I believe this size is around 5 foot by 10 foot. not 100% sure. the full size competitive trampolines have a 7X14 foot bed
they run at about $5000
whats the song
its in the description.
xylem up - D numbers
My favorite flip is either a front half or a front full. I do advanced parkour and freerunning
Are u at scats I live near there!
Yeah I tried to front half Monday. Broke my tibia and fibula. Had my surgery yesterday morning. Don’t get over confident, be safe everyone. Edit: I also indeed turned before flipped. That was my mistake.
Thank you so much this really helped I was spinning at the start but now I spin in the middle and it's easier
glad this helped! :)
I think it is bad to show stuff like this in slow motion because it misleads the viewer on the time they have to finish the flip
Thanks man, this helped a lot! Unfortunately I screwed my back up just before I stuck it, haha. Next time!
thank you for the feedback! glad it was of use :)
Twisting direction has nothing to do with the way you cartwheel. I wish it was just that easy tho.
You end up with a very good barani, but you show a drill I would absolutely never use. That roundoff in the air will teach a kid to twist opposite to his/her natural direction about 7 out of 10 times. I see a lot of boy's coaches do that in our gym. Then the kid tries showing off his new front full, and damn, wouldn't you know I see stomach twice.
there early rotation isn't bad, it's just different. It looks & feels cooler imo but late rotation might be easier for beginners
+David Ramseyer well i'm teaching this skill in terms of gymnastics form. which is often the most effecient way to do flips and twists. its a lot harder to progress to the bigger tricks without a solid foundation of the simpler ones
i've seen people land quad flips on garden trampolines like yours so you should be fine
I can do a backfull easy but I still can't land this move help
Richard Foster front and back twisting, although similar, feel entirely different at first. just work it slow and try following the tips i gave here.
thanks
Please teach me how to do the bad front flip 180.
Ilya Porhonar its been three months have you learned yet?
I'm not sure I test the same way going into the roundoff as I do twisting out of the front-tuck... I truly DO have barani confusion going on...
i'm not sure if that method works for everyone and i prefer the roundoff method. just remember to keep it to one side. if you would full twist to the left, then pull your half to the left side.
What's the name of the song :o!!
PS. Nice videos :)
its in the description brah
look guys don't listen to tutorials the best way is to learn by yourself the only thing you need to do is learn how to rotate i been watching and watching the thing i do is real do a front no tuck and try to spin don't do anything weired with your arms just do the thing i told you an do it and u will proboblly land it if this dosent work sorry but if it did leave a reply
I know right? Gross!! What’s worse than watching a tutorial? Probably reading one lol get trolled
@@jules_69420 that made no sensen
@@drfnt2k you said don’t listen to tutorials. But then you went on and instructed what to do. You essentially wrote a tutorial out. It was a a joke
Hey Julio just wanted to say that me Kalia and talia miss you and that u should come back cuz we really don't like our coach at all but ya that's it
Hahahaha "look it up cause I'm not going to tell you" hahahaha I'm dying
