- So we got some of the genuine Kawasaki Z1000SX Gel seats to try. we bought them on facebook marketplace via a seamless transaction with Juan - big shout out and thanks to you!
These are a direct replacement for the factory seats and although the pillion seat looked like it might not be so good, the results were pretty clear...
This was also a nice chance to get the Sex out for a ride on a dry sunny weekend for some much needed R&R - fresh air and isolation from others. We popped into P&H Motorcycles in Crawley to book a service, and they were great, all handles and surfaces are being cleaned, social distancing was observed and the team were great. Linda stayed outside.
we then jumped back on the mighty Zed to fully test the seats and smashed out 67 miles in total, taking things easy as we aren't show offs anyway, but we also don't need to crash and put more strain on our medical services.
It was a chance for Mrs ZedRunner to test out her new crash Helmet too! she loves it... and for me to do a few more miles in my awesome new Shark Sparton Carbon - there's a quick review video of that coming out in the next day or so too - so keep an eye out for that one ;)
This was a fabulous day, much needed and the roads of Sussex were great, some pot holes, but in the main, fine.

Just ordered the new Ninja 1000sx that are supposed to have gel seats as standard, so be interesting to see how I and Mrs Yarek get on with those. Had a 2015 Z1000Sx and used to do 300 miles/day on occasion on the standard seat (no pillion) and I was feeling it a fair bit at the end.
The new 2020 seats look bigger and more plush for sure. Really interested to see how you get on with them. Keep us all posted!

Did you find the seat height changed? I had to lower my suspension with a lowering kit. Not sure if this will raise it again.

Is there any reduction in seat height? Are these Kawasaki genuine seats?
These are genuine kawasaki seats and they are standard seat height.
I believe you could get a lower seat or one modified.
Is the gel seat woth the investment over the stock seat in term of comfort im doing a lot of miles (500 miles a day) and the stock seat is killin me
I’d say ‘maybe’ for those miles I’d look more comfortable still. Top Sellerie seem to be the go to seats for bigger miles.
I have a Versys 1000 & upgraded to gel seat but there was hardly any improvement. Bought a Corbin in the end & is the best seat I've ever had. Pricey with import duty, etc but you get what you pay for.
Wil check those out.
Is it available as a set or can i buy only the pillion seat if i wish?
