I came across this song 4yrs ago on a spontaneous visit to see friends. I was on the train on my way to visit a friend that was just in the next town of some other friends. I had my one headphone in and one out to hear the announcements for stops. This song came on and 14seconds into the song I had to pause for an announcement that regarded my stop. A man had jumped on the tracks and died so we had to get off a few stops earlier. I looked down to see what song had come on because I wanted to add it to my library. The words "today is a gift" came across my screen and my heart dropped. It was my first time hearing this song and I was hooked the first 10seconds. This song means a lot to me because of that moment that I was introduced to it. It is a heavy reminder that you just never know what the future has for you. So enjoy today, because it is a gift. 💝

@@beotree It was my anthem for that summer that year and then it dropped from Spotify for a bit. When I heard it again it legit made me cry because it was such a powerful song for me. A friend of mine died recently and it was a great shock because it was very unexpected. It really put things into perspective for me. This song perfectly encapsules what I learned from the experience. He was about to take exams and become a medic, and this song gives me strength and motivation to smash the exams that he will never be able to take and accomplish my dreams in his name. Man, I rewatched this movie so many times when I was younger, it was one of those movies that after the credits, I'd pop it back into the DVD player to rewatch. Multiple times in a day. I had the script virtually memorized and would "ska-doosh" my sister every time I asked for her finger, much to her annoyance. It's been so long since I saw it. I discovered this song in a spotify playlist, and for some reason it didn't register to me where those vocal samples were from cause I wasn't really paying attention, I was doing some classwork and it was just so confusing and I wasn't getting it at all. Then I heard Master Oogway's voice and just...broke down?? In the middle of math class??? Like, I never realized how bittersweet this scene was, it was so well written. It was a comedic movie but man, did it have those moments where it really made its message clear. I really love this, it's a beautiful tribute and I just can't stop listening to it now. You make some really good songs I'll be sure to listen to more of them!
