starkiller1341 I replay beat it and yelled " NOW STAY OUT OF MY DREAM YOU MONSTER! OR ELSE" next dream later " or what?" I smile say " OR THIS!" Pull out a flamethrower and burned him
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING TERRIFYING. I think one of the worst parts was the... gruesome game over scene when he catches you. He just drags Spiderman to the ground and tears into him.
I think one of the scariest parts about this is the computer's AI. Even if you were WAY ahead of him and skilled at making the most of your web swings; he'd suddenly get super close behind you so unexpectedly. That coupled with his noises and "DIIIIIEIEEEEEEE" just made this level far too scary.
all of it's material is pure nightmare. the big mouth, distorted eyes, deformed body, and obsolete radio scream, and the worst part is the chase. this game is successfully create a true nightmare without even knowing it, lol
I remember playing this game with my cousins. My much older cousin brought Resident Evil 2, and we constantly died at the first few zombies. Those death screens shook me to no end. I tried to make them play this game, but the older cousin constantly got bored and complained. Then we got to this level and he suddenly loved the game, and said it wasn't so bad after all.
Man, When I played that last boss on my childhood I indeed had this crazy adrenaline rush and my heart was beating so fast. Damn that monster ock. Those are memories I will never forget
You know what I just realised... We never see Spidey get Cletus Kasady out of the base before it blows up so for all we know, Spidey just left him there to die... Wow
Maniacdudefromnight Cletus may be a serial killer but guess what, the Joker is a serial killer too and Batman hasn't killed him, why should Spidey be any different?
Yeah, but Spidey has killed some persons before, albeit not entirely intentionally. Batman just refuses to kill anyone, because of his childhood incide- oh wait, Spidey suffered one too... iKillerZombie
Loved this game. The entire game was pretty damn good and that Carnage/Ock was freaking amazing. The perspective shifts on that last stage made that an incredible challenge. I loved it. Then I saw that ending and was completely let down. The Rhino bit, however, was pretty funny.
Not just was I shit scared out of my mind at this part of the game when I meet Monster Ock at the first time but I was screaming all the time through out the entier level shouting "GET AWAY GET AWAY YOU FREK!" And wow it still is more scary then any moster or anything that any game company has been abel to make!
The campiness in this game, I fucking love it... LOL at Daredevil and the Punisher playing cards. I just seriously cannot imagine their live action versions with Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal in this situation because of how dark and gritty they are XD
The symbiote can revive Kasady, so no,he's fine. In one comic, a doctor killed Kasady, trying to take the Symbiote for himself. The Symbiote basically told him to f off, revived Kasady, then killed the Doc.
Memories man, this is 1 of he best games. Epic story line and the ending was just brutal! Many games fail to present a heart pounding horrifying game like this, the creators did such a great job and this game deserves a lot of respect!
When I was younger, I used to be scared of Monster-Ock. But not much anymore!! This is why I often failed this level (most of all, I avoided it) because it was so intense and scary!!! Most of all, I couldn't understand this game!!!! But what to understand? HE'S SPIDER-MAN!!!! LOL!!!!
p.s.someone should TOTALLY remake this game.it would be awesome with newer graphics and stuff...although,Monster Ock would probably be about 10x more creepy
*EPIPHANY* So the symbiote left Cletus Kasady to save Doc Ock, and left Kasady there to die!! Spidey didn't save him either! That Symbiote is a two-timing jerk.
I must say, this monster wasn't the scariest part of the level. The scariest part is that HE'S COMING FOR YOU. He can kill Spidey in one hit. You just can't let him catch you, but this maze is so fucking hard that it MAKES YOU AFRAID to lose. One mistake - and you're done. That's the scariest thing in any game - fear of losing.
jeez even spider man's commentary through this whole section shows how utterly terrified he his, even spouts fourth wall breaking control tips just cause he doesn't wanna die to that.
This was the first time I ever got visibly frightened by a videogame. Even Carnage's "What Color do you bleed" line didn't get me because of how easy he was. But that design mixed with the voice and the many times I watched him beat Spiderman to death. Man, I was fucking frightened. And this is someone who played through Yume Nikki without a second glance.
God, I played the N64 version and still have it to this day. I beat this level in the tenth time. I was scared by him as a kid. Still, it was very satisfying to finally beat this level.
I remembered this after watching the new Venom movie. It looks a little different than I remember. I also just realized that this monster was possibly how I got a nightmare as a kid where a small red tube shaped monster with doc ock arms chased me around my Grandma's house. The monster didn't look a lot like this monster, but it was red and had doc ock claws, so this game might have influenced that nightmare. I had no clue why I had that nightmare until now. That nightmare made me afraid of the dark for years!
This thing gave me nightmares as a kid...I remember me and my dad frantically mashing the controller and screaming at the screen as this fucking beast came after spiderman...the worst part was how spiderman himself was scared of him...
I remember shitting my pants the first time I played this level back when I was 10 years old and now that I'm 19 I can breeze through this game in one hour
Am I the only one here who has never thought Monster Ock, his design, or voice creepy, scary, or fucking terrifying? Cause even as a kid experiencing him and this final level for the first time and coming back to this game after 20 plus years, I think his character, design, and voice is epic as hell villain wise lol I love it
Scorpion's remark of everyone working together and they can't still take down Spider-Man. True to form, although they teamed up, Spider-Man eventually managed to defeat them in the end in PS4's Spider-Man.
This guy was the reason i couldn't beat the game as a kid, he terrified me so much the first time is saw him, i dropped the controller, shat myself, and refused to play that level again for a good year or so
My older brother had this game. I didn't play the game because I wasn't a video game person when I was younger. But I loved watching my bro rage while trying run from Ock. Lol
"man resident evil sure was terrifying, better play some Spiderman to get it off of my mind."
Ex-freaking-cacly
Who was worse; carnage ock or nemesis? 🤔🤣. Terrifying childhood moments
Congratulation, you found another Nightmare.. Lol
'Then Spiderman introduced Monster ock,'
Tyre Wright Nemesis is retarded when you lock him with rifle, lol. but this red terror can't be stoped, we can only escape from him
The most terrifying part of my childhood
Iplaude d
NfmGamer64 Same here!!!
Well I played Silent Hill, but this is up there.
OH COME ON I WAS 8 WHEN I WAS WATCHING THIS BUT THAT'S NORMAL THE SYMBIOTES ARE SCARY SO THERE IS NO NEED TO FREAK OUT
@@billelhaddihaddi9818 i was 4 when i finished the game first time
There are plenty of times when I wished I could be Spider-Man…

i would say this is the scariest and most heart thumping moment in video game history

Sonic Cody I like to replay this level and I still get the adrenaline rush now !!!!
starkiller1341 I replay beat it and yelled " NOW STAY OUT OF MY DREAM YOU MONSTER! OR ELSE" next dream later " or what?" I smile say " OR THIS!" Pull out a flamethrower and burned him
Sonic Cody lool
+starkiller1341 Without a doubt.
Just watching through this part is enough to bring back all the stress you felt when you played it years ago haha
I still get that feeling in my heart when Monster Ock gets close. It's been years and that feeling is still there everytime I remember this.
Perhaps the first ever legitimate time I was terrified.
It's funny how Monster Ock in the game looks nothing like his picture in the top of the screen. And I can't even tell which is creepier.
Yeah, he looks like an evil potato :P
He looks like one of the California Raisins
The picture looks like Doc Ock with extreme sunburn.
If you look at beta images of monster ock, you’ll see why it looks like that. His old design was actually pretty dope
@@GSpot1998 got any links?
Thats cool how this character has never appeared in any other media.
Same with Sin Tzu from Batman Rise of Sin Tzu
Actually, Monster Ock just reappeared in the latest _Ultimate Spider-Man_ episode.
yeah but only for a short time and didn't do much
Tommy Blud Yeah. Still a nice reference, though.
Sort of looks like he's dancing doesn't it?
This is what nightmares are made of.

ABSOLUTELY FUCKING TERRIFYING.
I think one of the worst parts was the... gruesome game over scene when he catches you. He just drags Spiderman to the ground and tears into him.
How about when your just right behind him. Terrified the crap outta me.
agree I can play zombies no worries but this level in spiderman 1 ps1 it is fucking scary and it he's voice that makes it worst
Furious Finch is there like a video were we can see the death scene? cause everywhere i read people are often scared by that.
Furious Finch are you serious like in heart of darkness?
This used to scare the shit out of me as a kid.
I always thought Monster Ock said "I don't wanna die!"
Yeah I always heard it as "I might die" and I've never been able to hear it any other way

This boss is legit terrifying...and I'm not sure if its the fact that Carnage bonded with fricking Doc Ock or its the screams

These screams were trully awful

Yeah, pretty safe to say he's sleeping with the fishes.
Techno Jellyfish no kasady is seen later in jail wearing the carnage suit as the symbiote is then separate from doc ock who is also in jail
The symbiote can revive Kasady, so no,he's fine.
In one comic, a doctor killed Kasady, trying to take the Symbiote for himself. The Symbiote basically told him to f off, revived Kasady, then killed the Doc.
I DON'T THINK HE DIED MAYBE THE OTHER SYMBIOTE SAVED HIM BECAUSE THEY LEFT THE SYMBIOTE TOO SO I THINK HE CAMED BACK TO CARNAGE "FORM"
I was so scared of him that I never actually beat this game until recently.

So the symbiote left Cletus Kasady to save Doc Ock, and left Kasady there to die!! Spidey didn't save him either! That Symbiote is a two-timing jerk.
I don't think it did it to save Doc Ock, but rather because it was desperate to kill Spider-Man and Ock was the only other person to bond to.
The VIRGIN *"Spider-Man PS4"* fan VS the CHAD *"Spider-Man PS1"* enjoyer
The most intense thing I've ever played in a video game. Could never beat this as a kid.
Poor Doc Ock, he's surrounded by idiots at the end. XD
How this got an *"E for EvErYbOdY"* rating is BEYOND me
God, I'm tensing up like I was still some kid playing this. Talk about a blast from the past.
If spiderman ps4 recreated this i can imagine players nervously mashing buttons to escape.
Spider-Man playing with a bunch a veterans is something I love to see 😭😭

What if when Punisher said go fish, Captain America stood up and said "HAIL HYDRA" and then proceeded to murder all of them.

This part is more terrifying then the SA-X chases in Metroid Fusion...
Those were surprisingly terrifying for a handheld game. However Metroid Fusion overall is a rather creepy game....
callakracker Yep, the whole atmosphere is creepy and quiet, like a good survival horror game,
And the mutated SA-X fight...

This was honestly the hardest part of the entire game. I absolutely couldn't beat it.
When I was about 4 years old, this was my favourite game on the PS1. I wouldn't stop playing this, but this last fight scared me shitless.
I love the fact that spidey just gives you hints

Goddammit man. You're making me have multiple heart attacks from how close it gets in various parts, and I'm not even playing the damn thing! See 3:15
