Amazing how many you get in the first 2 or 3 seconds, and the wave of nostalgia comes on like the sea and makes you want to go back to a way of life in which you're watching all these shows again.
These videos unlocked a part of my brain that laid dormant for 30 years. Some shows I got right away, others I clearly remember the theme song and can visualize the show but can't remember the title and others I knew I have heard the song and can tell right away that I never watched the show with any regularity.
The funny part is, I watched virtually none of these shows, but I still remember every theme song. I watched a few 1-hours shows such as ATeam and Magnum. But most, I didn't watch. Yet, I'm hauntingly still familiar with all the themes.
I feel sad. I was so young when some of these shows would come on. I can still hear my mom screaming at me to go to bed! Especially hearing Moon Lightning. R.I.P Al Jarreau!
I've hear the Star Trek theme many times I didn't even recognize it. The 80s were optimistic times, when a young empire thought it was invincible and did not know what the future holds.
I LOVED Kate and Allie! I have very fond memories of watching it with my now late mom. Thank you for this stroll down memory lane! Cagney and Lacey was her favorite!
I was 15 in 1984 ..... great music, tv shows, movies, so many fond memories. Remember going to see the Goonies, Aliens, all those great movies, all the New Wave music which was awesome. I had a Swatch like everyone else. I remember watching Miami Vice for the first time and I was blown away. Cheers, The Greatest American Hero, Automan. I wouldn't change me being alive in the 80's for anything. It's such a big part of my life.

Wow, I can't believe how many different shows were in the 80's! I did pretty good in part 1, but I totally sucked at this one. Too many shows for my brain to process. Thanks for the great memories

I remember that my elementary school teacher could play that song on his acoustic guitar that he'd bring to class sometimes because I think he took lessons after school. He ended up making a record that I think I still might have in my collection of yearbooks and stuff. By the way, his name was Bill Linderman.
I had both the single and album with The Greatest American Hero theme song. I loved it from the beginning and Joey Scarbury did an excellent job writing and performing the song!

Too bad too because often, the tune at the start also helped to "prime" us watchers for the next 30 or 60 minutes, Hill Street Blues theme got you to prepare for some dramatic, sad and serious events; Airwolf, Matt Houston, Hunter got you to start preparing adrenaline for their action-packed scenes; etc - it was a moment to help you transition yourself to get in the mindset for the show, music and themes triggering base brain reactions. I used to walk home for lunch in highschool. Matlock came on at noon. Listening to that music absolutely took me back to over-due homeworks, studying for tests - my god.
This Part 2 was harder. I didn't watch the ones I didn't recognize. Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless were so gorgeous! And Moonlighting was a full-on phenomenon! Such happy and fond memories.
I had a lot of fun guessing the 80's TV Shows. It was a blast from the past.🤩 Wish I had heard "227," "Saved By The Bell (Good Morning, Miss Bliss)," "Fame," "Full House," "Amen," "Highway to Heaven," "Family Matters," and "Fraggle Rock."👀 But it was still nice to even hear this much.❤ Thank you so much for the memories.🤗
These were great ones! I was waiting for Fame theme's song to come up somewhere in there! Also, someone commented about cartoon theme songs, and the 1st 2 that come to mind is The Smurfs and Inspector Gadget! However, thanks for this! Took me back to those days!
Thank you for this 🙏 it's amazing how these songs can unlock a memory that has been hidden for years. Simple moments that came to life, long forgotten. I wish I could go back to a simpler time...
Would you believe it? When I heard those words " it was murder ", (6:26) followed by that theme tune, wow, instant recognition and all the emotions of excitement that came with watching 'Hart to Hart' Christ, even the dog bark flooded me with nostalgia. I just can't get over how much exciting TV there was when I was a kid. It's only now I'm really starting to appreciate it on a much deeper level and trying to find episodes of the old stuff; so much wholesome nostalgia.
I remember on (Give Me a Break ) after the father on the show passed away, Nell Carter performed Amazing grace for his funeral I was moved to tears so many good shows in this line up, I wish they would all come back we need and 80's nostalgia channel that play all the old shows and sitcoms
I was very busy throughout the 80’s being in the military and working evening and night shifts. Funny I could name every Intro song from the 60’s and 70’s but almost none of the 80’s. LOL !!
Yooooo this took me back Man and Enjoyed Every last 15:06 seconds of it .. if Your still around from the 80z .. We're The Dopest Creations on The Planet ... You New Ishez are Nothing but Clones .. and Expendables 💪🏾❤️😉
Sorry, I couldn’t help laughing when I saw the cast photo for Benson, which featured two future Star Trek stars (Rene Auberjonois from DS9 and Ethan Phillips from Voyager), and then immediately heard the theme for TNG.
My heart just aches when I hear these themes. This is the life of my childhood.Wonderful years of my life. How things are much different now.I would rather be back there.I miss them so much!😑
A little trivia. Hunter, 21 Jump St and Hardcastle and McCormack all had themes composed by a certain Mike Post and Pete Carpenter. And The Greatest American Hero as well.
I was up to one song as I scrolled through the comments and didn't remember what it was. I came across your comment and was like 21 Jump Street! And it was.
Ah, finally... Airwolf and Simon&Simon... I LOVED those as a kid! And I still remembered a bunch of shows my grandma loved to watch, like Matlock or Hart to Hart... Still miss The Young Riders though, so if you're ever doing Part 3... ;o)
Man i miss my 80s shows. I remember watching head of the class and missing Johnny Fever. Matlock and his chilli dogs. Miss Colt and Michael. Good old days.
Staci Keenan, Nicole Eggert, Traci Gold, Justine Bateman, Josie Davis, Lydia Cornell, Danika McKeller, etc, etc. The 80s were great. What a time to be a teenage boy!
Thank you! Entirely way too much fun remembering once upon a time. I did better on Part 1, not the best on Part 2, but then I was working a lot then. You're wonderful to even do this. Thanks again.
I did much better on part one than on part two. The ones I did not get were either the evening Soap Operas or the dramas - I was a sitcom kid. (although I did get a few of the dramas.) One sitcom that was missed was One Day at A time (although it did start in the 70's - that is an Iconic theme song. Also Laverne & Shirley - tho it began in the 70's but crossed into the 80's) For some of them I got the show within 1 or 2 notes of the song! LOL - hilarious. I do have to say the instrumentals were much more difficult.
I thought most of these would be a slam dunk, but then I remembered I used to spend a lot of time in my room and outside with friends in the 80's. Also could not get the channel ABC was on too well, so there was that.
Just the opposite for me. We could only get the ABC channel, until autumn '87, when cable was finally brought into our neighborhood. I'd seen some NBC & CBS shows in syndication after school, and later in the 90s and beyond, but I haven't seen all of these shows. I've spent a lot of years off & on without TV, even before streaming, which doesn't bother me, as I always have a radio, and now there's streaming; I guess growing up with one TV channel until age 20.5 makes TV nice to have, but not the most important thing. For me, anyway. ☮
"Benson"... with Rene Auberjonois who played Odo on Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Then a bit after that, Star Trek: TNG shows up. A few more clues go by, then comes "Spencer for Hire" and who do I see is in that photo? Avery Brooks, who played Capt. Benjamin Sisko (also) on DS9.
Great one, I didn't realize how many shows there were in the 80s. And I did know more of this list than of the first one. (And am still missing a few, like Mischiefs of Science, Secret Identity or Hogans Heroes.)
Ok, got about 20% of these, for a sci-fi fan STTNG was like Playing Name that Tune. Also an aviation nut Airwolf, was instant. Most I was familiar with but couldn’t nail down as it’s been at least 35 years since I heard these as a kid/teen.
In both the first video and this, every time music came on that sounded kind of action-y I guessed Airwolf if I didn't recognize it otherwise. I was *super* pleased to finally get it on this video, but now I'm sad that I don't have an action series to fall back on for that kind of music!
Love this guys. Do more 80’s. Loved Airwolf when I was 11 and still love and watch it today. Wish there was more seasons of Benson out too. Only missed 3 and felt dumb when I realized what they were.
Got about 10 right, some I'd heard and remembered but couldn't place because I only occasionally watched or the show only ran one season or so, and a few I had no memory of. Nice way to pass 15 minutes at work!
We were watching all these right here in Zimbabwe Africa ( a few series behind perhaps) but man these were the best times of our lives even though bedtime was 8pm
"This was great"!!!.... In one moment, I relived all the TV shows of the 80's that I watched when I was a kid myself..... Thank you for making this videos.
I would suggest you do a part 2 of the 70s and 90s! As for the 70s, please have theme songs from Chico and the Man, Nanny and the Professor, BJ and the Bear, The Rookies, S.W.A.T., The Rockford Files and One Day at a Time. For the 90s, include Coach, the Nanny, Mad About You, Everybody Loves Raymond, Star Trek: Voyager, Northern Exposure, JAG, The Drew Carey Show and 7th Heaven.
What a time to be alive!!! TV was SO GOOD back then.

Who else remembers getting Snacks...then running to the Living Room when you heard the Theme Song?
When we use to watch TV together as a family.
How fast can you use the restroom during the commercial break.

I used to walk home for lunch in highschool. Matlock came on at noon. Listening to that music absolutely took me back to over-due homeworks, studying for tests - my god.
Must have been reruns, because Matlock was a prime time show on NBC.
This Part 2 was harder. I didn't watch the ones I didn't recognize. Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless were so gorgeous! And Moonlighting was a full-on phenomenon! Such happy and fond memories.
Moonlighting was so good. The bruce willis and cybill shepherd dynamic was the best.
Ironically, I actually had more songs that I recognized.
TV Shows don't have great theme songs anymore. What a great decade to be alive! The 80's is my heaven.
I'm pretty sure the 1980's was king of the t.v. show.
7Earthsky The 80s were splendid in so many ways.
I miss sitcoms !! Too much “reality” garbage these days.
with a certainly close 70's & 90's, but that's just me..... maybe? right? (Hope I'm not showing my age too much, erm, I am only 16 ;))
7Earthsky
And electric guitar.
it sure was
Smiled from ear to ear when the theme Benson came on!!❤️❤️
I remember watching 21 Jump Street and falling in love with Johnny Depp, who knew he would go so far?
I had a lot of fun guessing the 80's TV Shows. It was a blast from the past.🤩 Wish I had heard "227," "Saved By The Bell (Good Morning, Miss Bliss)," "Fame," "Full House," "Amen," "Highway to Heaven," "Family Matters," and "Fraggle Rock."👀 But it was still nice to even hear this much.❤ Thank you so much for the memories.🤗
Yeah!!! A part 3 needs to be made. LOL!
@@mariolbanks 👍🏾👍🏾💯
Brought back a time that will never be surpassed!!!!! .......Ever!!
These were great ones! I was waiting for Fame theme's song to come up somewhere in there! Also, someone commented about cartoon theme songs, and the 1st 2 that come to mind is The Smurfs and Inspector Gadget!
However, thanks for this! Took me back to those days!
Where's Scarecrow and Mrs King? Great 80s show.
Ditto Tour Of Duty
Thank you for this 🙏 it's amazing how these songs can unlock a memory that has been hidden for years. Simple moments that came to life, long forgotten. I wish I could go back to a simpler time...
Would you believe it?
When I heard those words " it was murder ", (6:26) followed by that theme tune, wow, instant recognition and all the emotions of excitement that came with watching 'Hart to Hart'
Christ, even the dog bark flooded me with nostalgia. I just can't get over how much exciting TV there was when I was a kid. It's only now I'm really starting to appreciate it on a much deeper level and trying to find episodes of the old stuff; so much wholesome nostalgia.
Freeway the dog ..max and his cigar!
It was MUYDAH!
I remember on (Give Me a Break ) after the father on the show passed away, Nell Carter performed Amazing grace for his funeral
I was moved to tears
so many good shows in this line up, I wish they would all come back
we need and 80's nostalgia channel that play all the old shows and sitcoms
I was very busy throughout the 80’s being in the military and working evening and night shifts. Funny I could name every Intro song from the 60’s and 70’s but almost none of the 80’s. LOL !!
I'm a Gen Z kid and thanks to my parents for getting me some of this stuff.
Great to see Airwolf here!
So much women empowerment in the 80s, as well as actual Family Shows, ah, the days 💙🧡
And Spenser for Hire, with Avery Brooks in the background!
And it was.
You're right. This 80s TV theme quiz was tougher. I managed to get the majority of the songs correct.
Ah, finally... Airwolf and Simon&Simon... I LOVED those as a kid! And I still remembered a bunch of shows my grandma loved to watch, like Matlock or Hart to Hart... Still miss The Young Riders though, so if you're ever doing Part 3... ;o)
OMG, Young Riders was FANTASTIC!
Man i miss my 80s shows. I remember watching head of the class and missing Johnny Fever. Matlock and his chilli dogs. Miss Colt and Michael. Good old days.
The human brain amazes me...I recognized the Matlock theme song even though I’ve never seen an episode. Was born in 1981. 🤯
Really love the trip back to my youth. Can’t remember but did you you include Saved by the Bell, maybe Street Hawk ,Roseanne, the Jeffersons
Wow! You sure took me to my past. Haven't heard some of these Theme Songs in years! Thanks. :)
Omg Charles in charge!!! Loved that show ❤
"Little House on the Prairie", how many times did you watch those girls tumble down the hill when Pa shows up?and Wonder Woman...
Little house is a icon of that time
70s though, not 80s.... well just watched part 1 and it looks like they did some 70s shows that made it to the 80s so why not Little House, too.
@@yvonnepalmquist8676 yea some started in the 70's but ran into the 80's
WW was strictly 70s
I love Little House. Carrie’s actress could have used a bit of helping out in a few episodes, but great show
I didn’t know that one of Billy Joel’s songs was used as a theme song for a tv show!
Yep
I haven't heard it since the 80s but I totally forgot how awesome the Airwolf theme is.
Did get it right when I heard it. Memory flashback.
Oh my goodness we had the BEST shows in the 80s!
In both the first video and this, every time music came on that sounded kind of action-y I guessed Airwolf if I didn't recognize it otherwise. I was *super* pleased to finally get it on this video, but now I'm sad that I don't have an action series to fall back on for that kind of music!
Out of all these shows, I watched Moonlighting the most.
Love this guys. Do more 80’s. Loved Airwolf when I was 11 and still love and watch it today. Wish there was more seasons of Benson out too. Only missed 3 and felt dumb when I realized what they were.
I'm surprised that I remember even one of these theme songs considering how stoned I was during the 80's.
😂😂
Got about 10 right, some I'd heard and remembered but couldn't place because I only occasionally watched or the show only ran one season or so, and a few I had no memory of. Nice way to pass 15 minutes at work!
My Two Dads was way before it’s time..lol
If it was made today, the dads would probably be a gay couple.
We were watching all these right here in Zimbabwe Africa ( a few series behind perhaps) but man these were the best times of our lives even though bedtime was 8pm
That was fun! Thanks for compiling this! I didn’t realize there were so many cheesy synth themes!
This recovering couch potato is batting pretty well here.
I love these! THANK U!
It was fun reliving my childhood memories. Thanks for sharing this!
I grew up in the 80's and watched all of these shows regularly and i only got less than half correct. My memories are fading. 😥
