Hi I have a Nissan Sunny 2002 b14 car. I have a problem with the power distributor and it contains 7 wires. Can I install a distributor of the same type with 6 wires, and how is that?
How did you figure you had a bad distributor? My 97 Sentra is giving me problems right now. At first it was a dead Miss on cylinder number 3. Then after about five minutes of car just stopped running. I've checked lots of other things and they all seem to be fine. I'm wondering if maybe it's the distributor
Yeah, see that's the part I don't know. Going to attempt this on my 2001 Altima, but I still need that information before I start. Luckily i have something else to drive so this isn't too critical right now.
@@FixingStuff101 excuse me sir, I observe you're a professional mechanic by your reply and I know you must be busy right now, so thanks for your time. But sir could you please give me your professional opinion on how removing the hot and negative from the battery will make you blow a bunch of fuses and other stuff? 😂 😂 😂
This guy says he just replaced this distributor but watching him here he clearly has NO F..ng IDEA. The first thing you do is to mark the position of the distributor to ensure it goes back in exactly the same position. This guy gets a big FAIL !
If you're replacing the distributor, you can mark the position on the old one and try to get it close on the new one but that does not guarantee correct timing and is the wrong way to do it. That is for lazy people who don't want to do the job correctly. You ALWAYS retime the engine.
@@BrunsBwlr I don't think that's what he had in mind. He was probably thinking of the bad old days when you could put the distributor in with the rotor in any position.
This is actually a great instructional and informative video. Thanks for sharing.
What do you do if you forgot to mark it before you removed it
Rotating distributor during placement Changes the Timing?

Tiny screw inside distributor
Thank you
So you did not put it to TDC before you pulled out the distributor?

This video uploader has absolutely NO IDEA what he is doing. Clearly a COWBOY
where is part 02 ?? please
how to check GA16DE engine if is mist firing on plug no 2 spark
You should be able to buy a spark checker at most auto parts stores or use an inductive ammeter
how to count to 4 in 15 minuets haha
Shouldn't you disconnect the positive wire to the battery?
no need. Just remove the negative, it cuts off the circuit.
Yeah you can do that if you want to blow a bunch of fuses and possibly fry your electronics
