- I took a trip to Oregon to visit the spooky Overlook Hotel (Timberline Lodge) from Stanley Kubrik's version of The Shining. Sitting at the base of the impressive Mount Hood, the Timberline did not disappoint!
The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and co-written with novelist Diane Johnson. The film is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel of the same name and stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Scatman Crothers, and Danny Lloyd.
Footage from the film is used strictly for educational purposes to compare the 1980 Timberline Lodge locations to the same in 2022 and give context around the project.

that is enough horror for this senior citizen. Still enjoy this channel. Awesome review.
Here’s Johnny!! Got that poster and absolutely love what you did here with the edits and narration. Had no idea they built a scale replica in England. Of course that’s where Kubrick lived. Totally awesome. Well done good sir!!
Thank you!! Really appreciate the comment!
That line was actually ad-libbed my Nicholson. Wasn't in the original script.
Always love these videos. You watch movies that I grew up with but really know little about. I love the education.
Thank you sir! Really appreciate that! Makes it worthwhile when people enjoy them. 🙏🏻

Wow cool ❤
The set in England wasn’t supposed to be the front of the building, it was supposed to be the back
Love this
Thank you!!

These videos are superb. Very well done, love this channel!
Thank you brother!
These analytics of the shining get better and better! thanks Jared. I'm thinking about doing one in Elstree UK but I doubt that will help in anyway but I'm just so curious about the studio where it was filmed
Thanks for this! I’d love to see anything you do at the studio in UK - appreciate you!!
I used to live in Edgware, London, just a few miles away from Elstree Studios and know the area quite well.
There is virtually nothing to see regarding Kubrick around there, and the streets around just have a few signs and pictures of "UK famous" old TV and Movie stars basically (people like Cliff Richard and Barbara Windsor).
There is a little bit about Star Wars I think.
However, about 6 miles away is Stanley Kubrick's old house, which you can walk by / get a bus past quite easily.
@@ChubbyChecker182 thanks for the info
I always tought the maze and snow cat was in the back side on the left of the timberline.

Thank you sir! Appreciate the kind words!
