i think for the meddle ability clove will be able to send lots of butterflies in a direction like an omen blind, and will surprise all enemies caught by it.

in ireland - not scotland but similar - we use "pick me up" as an idiom for cheering up a friend more than yourself. im still living for the copium that clove could be another agent with an ally heal after years (and it would mean all 3 non duelist roles would have an ally heal)
maybe pick me up could be a potion like grenade that you splash on the floor as a one time heal (and maybe it could cleanse debuffs like scan or suppression)
So like a kiriko suzu? That would be pretty situational to be really strong, like to full counter a fade ult or omen blind
Or you send a swarm of butterflies to someone and it heals them over time for a long period
@@snowypixaa status cleanse wouldn’t be the worst. I mean if she already suppressed, it doesn’t mean much, but erasing decayed status, stunned, Fade marked status, suppression for Allie’s, near sight effects, and maybe not flashes.
As a controller main who doesn’t like playing healing characters in valorant, I hope not. But, I don’t think it would be, as they’ve touted the agent as an aggressive character (they specifically mentioned duelist players who’re filling smokes), so I don’t really see them adding a purely support ability like that.

Given:
- The butterfly theme.
- The Battle pass teaser banner name "Chrysalis"
- Phoenix's voiceline.
- Cypher's Empty body bag voiceline (empty Chrysalis?).
- And the devs teasing that the agent will having "a beautiful moment" after death:
I think the agent will represent the life cycle of a Butterfly.
Where a butterfly will first be a Caterpillar, and then a Chrysalis, and finally a Butterfly.
As such, I think she will start every round in normal form as a caterpillar, and when she dies she becomes a chrysalis for a period of time (vulnerable + stationary), if she manages to survive the chrysalis period she becomes a butterfly that is able to (in someway or another) provide value for the team.
So basically:
1. Caterpillar (normal form)
2. Chrysalis (stationary form after death)
3. Butterfly (free form)
This could be a passive ability, or more likely, an ultimate ability.
Where if its activated, she is able to then transform into chrysalis rather than die.
In addition, I'm starting to think that that Clove's (C) ability "Pick me up" will be a an ability similar to Kiriko teleport from Overwatch, but slightly tuned down.
I believe (C) "Pick me up" will allow Clove to mark one of her teammates as a target to teleport back to later when needed, allowing her to escape dire situations after entering a site for example.
This could also be her Entry ability, but it requires another teammate (I.e. Jett or Raze) to actually enter and then you follow suit.

imagine for the meddle ability she uses butterflies to meddle with enemy team smokes. basically if she's near a smoke she can "steal" it. maybe she would either directly send it to another location or maybe it fills up her fuel for her own smoke. i imagine her smoke could be like she sends a butterfly somewhere and it turns into a smoke made of butterflies.
Taking enemy smokes would just be OP they're never going to do that

I think while enemies are inside the smoke gunshots will be quiet because they did mention something like that. And when fade said "dim room" i think the smokes could be nearsighted unlike omen or astra smokes

the C made me think of riot's other game league of legends, in that game there is a character called zillian's who's ult is a buff he puts on allies that revives them with most of their HP if they die within 8 seconds of getting it. But also a support character called Renata Glasc who's E on a much shorter cooldown gives an ally a damage buff and if they die with that they don't die for about 3 seconds and have that time to get another kill and get set to 20% of their max hp or actually die for real.
I don't think think it would be too crazy for her E to have some kind of death avoidance with how they have made league champs in the past
I think pick me up will be a kind of updraft ability, like from liveweaver from overwatch or something where rather than the petal a butterfly picks him up and drops the agent (making it like a updraft thing)
if that is the case, and she can use it on other players ( yknow cause she is a controller, a more supportive role ) that would be so shit cause that would make Jett Updraft nerf useless

Ruse (E) might be a smoke that could do something funky like screw up enemy senses. Ex: Inverting stereo sound when inside the smoke (sounds will by heard opposite of the real direction), or they start hallucinating you/allies walking through the smoke if they stay inside the smoke long enough. Alternatively, it might be a smoke Clove can quickly reposition within a limited range (imagine it like pressing F or E on the smoke, a butterfly sprouts from the smoke and flies towards its new location)-very useful for when your team is scaling up past your initial smokes
Meddle (Q) could be an ability pertaining to using butterflies for something. Like sending a wave of butterflies forward like an Omen flash but you can control its direction with your mouse. If it hits an enemy the butterflies could latch onto them, giving them a debuff that, say, slows their reload/pullout speed, maybe periodically a butterfly obscures their vision for a split second as it flies away from them. If an enemy with this effect dies, the butterflies could latch onto another nearby enemy who doesn’t have the debuff and inherit its remaining duration
Pick Me Up (C), it really would be interesting to explore the revive concept of an ally activating this ability rather than you yourself. Maybe pressing it primes the ability like Iso’s Focus gauge, and if you happen to die you’ll transform into a butterfly that can fly around for a bit with an invulnerability+invisibility window at the start, and your death point will be marked with something that all players can see. From there, you’ll act like a companion to your team-you can’t shoot, but you can still use all your utility (except maybe your ultimate depending on what that might be) and you’re immune to all debuffs. You can press the C key while in this form to perform some other ability, like creating a wall of butterflies to block enemy vision on the fly, or it could be a quick dash like a pre-nerf Jett. Your timer indicates when your death point will disappear and you truly die (let’s give the timer an arbitrary 1 minute). Allies can come over to your deathpoint to revive you like a Kayo ult with all of its same risks, except when you revive you’ll appear where you currently are in your butterfly form. But at least you have some value even after you die. If your butterfly gets shot earlier or your team dies, your death point will immediately disappear, so keep that in mind while you inevitably become the main bait for your team
I still think meddle will be a smoke manipulation ability, maybe something that can shut down smokes in an area for a while. pick me up could be a placable healing item, and ruse could be a smoke that plays gunshot sounds maybe, or also cuts off sound. a sound cutoff smoke could be very handy when used with an agent like yoru for tps, gekko for spike planting, or just for smoking spike for silent defuse
I think meddle you can either make it when someone goes in your smoke they can’t hear like a fade seize or you send out butterfly’s like other ability’s in the game to make it were they can’t hear it would be great to throw and then attempt to defeat the spike since they can’t hear
i think the pick me up will have to do with her butterflies and smoke dancing and switch her from one soke to the other
and maybe the ruse can nearsight if the push through for like 2 seconds coming out
Meddle is probably the ability to silence gun fire. The voice mails hinted an ability to silenced gunfire.

Her smokes probably makes enemies inside the smoke gradually lose hearing, so they can't hid inside her smokes.

I agree. I think if the idea is that you can still be useful as a smoker after dying, I feel like its a smoke that can be used by your teammates as well.
I feel like maybe after smoking, u can pick it up and move the smoke while walking, like a walking dome, but I don't think that would be practical cuz it would give your team and your location away ,

I think that the -C ability "pick me up" wil be like a KO revive but it only revives him with 1 hp and no other buffs, the -Q ability "meddle" will apply something in a line just like iso or omen, but with a brand new effect, and the -E ability "ruse" will smoke and apply paranoia to enemies that are in/close by the smoke
any sort of revive outside of i being an ult would be too op, especially in higher elo were someone even with 1hp can get kills

I have a feeling that in the ult, the agent can turn into some sort of ethereal form which can be shot but cant kill enemies but still be able to use abilities.

That's where the "Ruse" is. You don't know if there's anyone walking along inside that swarm unless you peek into it or use util to check.
With pick me up, i imagine it being a heal. The only healers in the game are a sentinel and an initiator plus sage was notorious with how she was played as a battle sage.
Imagine clove conjuring a swarm of butterflies to fly around her or her ally to heal that agent overtime -- similar to sage heal.
Meddle is the tricky bit. What if meddle is similar to pick me up bit it targets an area, if an enemy comes close the butterflies swarm the agent -- acting similar to a blind
Now, imagine if clove had a charge system similar to astra but instead of stars you are sending out her swarm to various spaces of the map.
You use her abilities to change up how the butterflies act - if the smoke heals allies, blinds enemies or muffles sound.

For her ult. I'd imagine it being similar to my concept of "Pick me up" plus phoenix ult. Imagine her activating her ult and imbibes herself with a swarm of butterflies which carry her back to a specified spot and revives her if she dies within the duration. I can also imagine it functioning similar to reyna ult minus reyna's escape capabilities.
If she has a similar charge mechanic to astra's stars, i'd also put the swarm manipulation machanic on her ult similar to astra having to use her ult button to place down stars.
Maybe she needs to use a charge of her swarm in order to activate even her ultimate ability but she'll be able to regen a maximum of 1 swarm mid-round unlike astra who can't regen used stars mid-round.
This way, she literally gives a new meaning to "dropping smokes" since her smokes allow herself and her team to play aggressively, heal like a battle sage and even entry like a duelist with her ult.

Here's what I think "Pick me up" will do:
You die, a butterfly will be placed on death point.
Teamates can pick up butterfly, opening a brim-smoke-like menu.
User of menu can click to place a smoke down somewhere.

Ruse (E) butterfly smoke that can be disperesed any time

Omen Blinds, Viper Mollys and Decays , Harbor Slows, Astra Slows and Stuns and Brim has Stim and Molly so maybe Clove suppressed them with meddle (q) if she gets a different status effect.
Also I would love/hate the smoke if when you're in the smoke you can't hear anything just like an Astra ult would as a part of a ruse but highly unlikely to happen.
