@@hbfbhfffdfbfb9662 Okay, so during the scene, Gwendolyn is talking about how she has no job and needs to move. She says that maybe she can get a job at the local five and dine which is basically a restaurant. So when Gwendolyn asks “may I offer you some tea” it’s ironic because In that moment she isn’t actually asking Mildred if she would like some tea, she says it because that’s what she’s going to be asking when working at a restaurant. The irony is essentially a rhetorical question. Does that clarify anything?
I was thrilled to see Nurse Ratched return in the modern era. But I wanted Christina Hendricks for the role because she's like both the film and book version of the character combined. But all I saw instead was Sarah Paulson turning the iconic character into a self-insert.
In that sceen, Gwyn said she will go to mother home, working at a restaurant because she lost her job when she try to help Ratched about Ratched’s brother. Gwyn said “May i offer you some tea” is a sentence usually use by waitress to customer in a restaurant But Ratched thought Gwyn just want to know if she need some tea. Ratched didn’t catch Gwyn’s Sarcasm
To be fair she could’ve used a better generic waitress saying since “may I offer you some tea” is also commonly used by hosts for their guests 😂 “would you like a refill on that, miss?” would’ve been better
"oh look, my peach" was the funniest thing, i really love the sense of humor in Ratched
FR
Oh look, my PEACH
I love that phrase! I've thought about it a lot lately. Mildred Ratched is one beautiful, seductive, badass lady. She's truly God's angel.
